@Lillygolightly the only reason I asked if you knew what went wrong was because the same thing happened to my sister-in-law, everything was absolutely fine with her third baby but it died at 18 weeks. It unfortunately had to happen to her a second time at 18 weeks before they looked into it and discovered that her blood was clotting and wasn't passing through the placenta properly which led to the baby essentially being starved. As soon as they worked this out they put her on aspirin for her next pregnancy and everything went smoothly after that. I absolutely don't want to scare you by saying this, I'm more thinking of whether you could speak to your midwife about whether being put on aspirin may be an option just to be on the safe side? I don't think being on it harms the baby in any way but it might be worth it just in case? Or at least speaking to someone medical about the likelihood of that being a cause? I hope I haven't scared you, just wanted to share what my sister-in-law discovered. It hopefully is nothing to do with that in your case and was just a really unlucky happening, but it just might be worth speaking to someone about taking aspirin as a preventative measure, especially if the baby seemed healthy in all other aspects xx

Hi everyone, had my 10w private scan today measuring 10+3 2 days ahead of my dates so we are happy with that. Saw babys heartbeat and wriggling about. They had their had to their face up by their head as if saying hello. Lady checked baby over twice because of our concerns about last time and all looking hood. Skull is fully formed. Me and my partner are so relieved after last time. So glad I booked it. They turned the big TV screens on on the wall so we could see the baby on them. Was a lovely experience. Feel a bit less anxious now Smile

Any due late December

Ahh, that's amazing news @Curlymam88 you must be so relieved! I was so glad I went for a private scan too, it really helps to break up the first trimester anxieties. I went for mine on Thursday and I still keep finding myself thinking that something might have gone wrong between now and then, but I at least have the last scan to reassure me that hopefully it hasn't. I'm dated at 10+4 at the moment so we're due around the same time!x

Curlymam88 · 30/05/2021 15:21

@burtle4 thank you! Your scan was lovely. It was lovely to see the difference from my 6 week scan to today's. Its hard not to worry but we just need to keep positive Smile

jade0881 · 30/05/2021 15:29

@Curlymam88 aww that's so sweet hun you must be so happy... at least you have the good news you needed. ❤️

@Curlymam88 I had a 6 week scan too where we literally saw a flicker on the screen to show it's heart beating. To think how much it's changed and grown in just 4 weeks is mad!

Curlymam88 · 31/05/2021 12:51

@burtle4 I know. I find it all really fascinating. To think ive got 2 heartbeats inside me, and just the whole baby growing from cells. Really find it amazing Smile

Tiger9526 · 31/05/2021 16:06

Hello!
First time pregnancy and I'm due 22nd December! Both me and my boyfriend are so excited. I've been extremely lucky with no morning sickness however I've struggled with tiredness and have started to get low mood and a lot of emotions!

I'm reassured to read that others have also struggled with this. I have one other thing I'd like to ask which I would just like reassurance on. Apologies if it's too much information! My boyfriend reassures me he loves me very much and still finds me sexy especially with the extra curves however we haven't had sex in a long time as he's afraid of hurting the baby. I've reassuredhim this can't happen. Has this happened to anyone and how did you help ?

jade0881 · 31/05/2021 16:55

@Tiger9526 firstly congratulations to you and your partner. I am the same, all I have had is tiredness and tender breast.
Secondly with the whole sex thing don't worry about it hun, I'm sure your boyfriend loves you very much. Men find it hard to have sex at times for fear of hurting baby. Sam with me although we both agreed not to in the first 3 months.
Dont worry hun, things will change. Your boyfriend loves you so don't worry about that. X

@Tiger9526 congratulations! I've also only had mild symptoms. Nowhere near as bad with my first pregnancy. In regards to the sex me and my partner usually DTD every night and no harm has been done to me or baby. Midwife also said it is safe.

jade0881 · 31/05/2021 18:13

@Curlymam88 I wish that was the same with me and my OH.. lol

Gonna sound like an intrusive question but what sex positions can you do in first trimester

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 31/05/2021 18:42

We've been doing all positions, but obviously he's not been putting his full weight on my belly when he's on top.

Oh ok. See when I look online it's says something completely different. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Suppose it's whatever you're comfortable with. I've always thought the baby is well protected in there

jade0881 · 31/05/2021 19:42

Yeah they say baby is well protected don't they... rather then deprive myself I might just have to enjoy lol. With my first pregnancy I had a very high sex drive, in my second I didn't. This time round I do but I've stopped myself. I think that's just due to previous MC's

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 31/05/2021 20:20

I'm the same I've a high sex drive. I understand the being cautious though. Maybe just go with the gentle enjoyment.

jade0881 · 31/05/2021 20:36

@Curlymam88 yeah I think I might lol

My husband didn't want to do anything in my first two pregnancies pretty much as soon as we found out, he said he just found it weird to think there's a baby there and it didn't feel right. This time I think he would in these early days but I'm just so scared of causing a miscarriage (even though I know it probably won't) and to be fair up until recently I've been feeling so rough that it's been the furthest thing from my mind! Now that I'm starting to feel better and about to leave the first trimester I reckon I'll be the one up for it again but he'll be the one not wanting to due to my growing belly reminding him there's a baby there 😂

jade0881 · 31/05/2021 22:09

@burtle4 haha yeah I feel the same. It's so funny that we feel this way..
