@2020mission they might not tell you the fender as with my first in a different trust they wouldn't tell you the gender and you had to pay private to find out where as this time I'm with a different trust and they offered to tell us!

Had a manic day today, got back from holiday last night so had loads of washing to do so was up later than planned as I couldn't seem to go to bed when I heard the washing machine had finished 🀣🀣 got in the car this morning to take OH to work and the drive train had malfunctioned so was told it was thousands of pounds of work so was so stressed I thought i may go into early labour. OH had to stay at home and my mum had to come get DS to take to school and I got a lift to work. A mechanic friend came to look at it tonight and managed to fix it and if worst comes to worst it'll only be a couple of hundred pounds. Phew πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Need to get a move on and order the car seat otherwise we might have a surprise entrance and no way to get them home πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

Kirky658 · 22/06/2021 21:14

@lucyrp oh bloody hell hun talk about back to earth with a bang after a holiday! Glad it's not a bad or expensive as first thought, phew! Have you had any thoughts on car seats? X

lucyrp · 22/06/2021 21:17

@Kirky658 I know right! We'd just got to a better financially stable position too so was looking forward to the extra money a month then that happened and I was like nooo😰 we are just going to get a maxi cosi cabriofix as a friend has lent me her isofix base for that seat and I wanted a seat that would fit onto my egg pram frame. I had a silver cross one last time which fit on my frame and found it so handy just being able to pop into the shops etc like that x

Justanothercyster · 22/06/2021 21:17

@Kate105 yes tried that one too and a girl as well! Sods law I'll have a boy πŸ˜‚

@SamoyedFan123 ah that's a bit of a relief then, hopefully it will just get better from here x

@lucyrp gosh put your feet up now after that!

@lucyrp that sounds lovely to get away. I'm all good, need to get my arse in gear and sort my hospital bag too.

@Kirky658 lovely bump!

@2020mission my 16wk appointment was in and out in about 10 mins-no listening to the heartbeat here until 24wks πŸ˜”

@Justanothercyster great scan pic, glad all went ok x

@Kate105 I did the Chinese calendar for my 3year old daughter and it correctly said girl, it predicts boy for this one 😬

@SamoyedFan123 wow, induction Monday!! How far along will you be then? Wonder if their predicted weight will be accurate!

My bump feels so big and round at the moment; everyone at work today said I look like I have a football up my dress πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Growth scan Friday to look forward to, and a pregnancy massage tomorrow so a good end to the week now work is done.
2 weeks until summer holidays here so although my mat mat leave doesn't start until my due date I am classing the 8th July as my first day lol

X

SamoyedFan123 · 23/06/2021 19:53

@Clairey844 I'll be 38+1 officially but 38+2 by actual IVF dates. Would have been happy to go to 40 weeks but getting too scared about his size! Tbh i can feel how big he is and my body has had enough now - i just want him out at this point! The pregnancy massage sounds amazing - my back aches sooo much these past couple of days 😭 hope you enjoy! Yaay to only a couple of weeks left in work too.

I have my final growth scan tomorrow, and the MCA doppler scan thing that the bloods people have asked for. Consultant is going to find me an internal exam after to see where things are at prior to induction - tbh i don't think this baby is anywhere near ready yet! Hoping he'll give me a sweep to get things moving along 🀞

Clairey844 · 23/06/2021 21:17

@SamoyedFan123 I've got a growth scan Friday when I'll be 35+3 so keen to see how accurate they are with you having one so close to delivery. My little girl was born at 38+3, not quite as hefty as yours is predicted though lol.
Really hope things are as quick and as straightforward as they can be, fingers crossed they can give you a sweep tomorrow!
So exciting to think our first baby will be here by next week!! Good luck xx

Justanothercyster · 23/06/2021 21:18

What car seats are we going for ladies?

@Clairey844 aww haha, football belly. I had an old man comment on mine today saying "not long to go then". Bloody cheek I'm only 20 weeks!

@SamoyedFan123 omg so exciting!

SamoyedFan123 · 23/06/2021 21:43

@Justanothercyster OMG what a cheeky old man! How did you reply?

lucyrp · 23/06/2021 21:44

@Justanothercyster I had a random man say that to me the other day in the street literallt the same thing and I was like well I have 9 weeks and he replied "9 weeks?!?!" And his face said it all. Like yes hun I have a big bump you don't need to tell me. Sod off

Gem176 · 23/06/2021 21:47

Hola πŸ‘‹πŸ»

All this talk of growth scans and you are all so much further on than me! Had my first yesterday at 27 weeks.... LOVE seeing baby! Yet again they are edging towards girl but not committing to that as baby is breech and had their ass wedged firmly in my pelvis. I get to see them again on Monday and then for the next 3 Tuesdays. The travelling is going to kill me but the little monkey is just under 10th centile so they need to know if growth is slowing or if they are just going to be a bit of a tiny toot like DD. Fingers crossed for just a small bubba. Doppler and fluid levels all good so I'm thinking I just don't make very big babies πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

@Justanothercyster lovely scan pic πŸ’• we went to the pram shop yesterday and I think I'm leaning towards the joie i level purely because it can be used with the vista v2 which OH really liked the look of and it lies flat which is important to me as we have quite long journeys to see my family so I'd want them to be as comfortable and safe as possible for those journeys.

@SamoyedFan123 how exciting for Monday!! That's no time away. Hopefully a sweep prior to induction will convince baby that it's time to get on the move🀞🏻

Gem176 · 23/06/2021 21:53

@lucyrp @Justanothercyster my bump disappears when I sit down ans it's only really prominent when I've just eaten (more food baby than actual baby 😳) I'd love to have a properly noticeable baby bump. I'm still just looking a bit on the chubby side 🀣

Has anyone else been put on iron? Apparently I'm anaemic with practically no iron stores and need to start taking tablets.... but they are very unappealing with some of the side effects 😬 had steak and broccoli for dinner.... every little helps right πŸ˜‚

Kirky658 · 24/06/2021 06:43

@justanothercyster we've gone for a travel system that has the car seat with it, we've opted for the ickle bubba stomp v3 πŸ‘

I had an old lady stop me yesterday while out walking to ask when the baby was due, I was so tempted to say 'baby, what baby' but resisted the urge 🀣

Kate105 · 24/06/2021 07:42

@Justanothercyster we've gone for the Maxi Cosi Tinca. It fits with the pram we have and it was the lightest one in the shop πŸ˜‚ the helpful shop assistant did feel the need to point out that it would be heavier with a baby in it. Think that's the most useless unsolicited advice I've had so far!

lucyrp · 24/06/2021 09:42

@Justanothercyster sorry I completely missed your question about car seats, we've gone with a maxi cosi cabriofix only because my friend gave me an isofix base to use which you can only use with the cabriofix and the cabriofix fits onto our pram frame. With DS I used the silver cross car seat which came with my travel system and found it so handy being able to just put it on the pram frame popping into shops etc. I like the pebble or the tinca though, and the egg car seats are lovely too. I would definitely recommend one thag you can attach to your pram for the first year

Justanothercyster · 24/06/2021 12:46

Thanks ladies. We're going for one that's fixed for longevity as opposed to getting the travel system ones, just because it suits us more! My dad did that a few years ago with my bro and sis (big age gap, long story) and it worked well.
We're going for an ispin one and it's a toss up between the Maxi Cosi Mica and the Joie ispin. Both good reviews as long as your car seat allows for the recline to go properly back so are going to test them out after work.

So much to consider! Also call us crazy but we've also got our pram and carrier now too πŸ™ˆ can you tell dh is super organised?!

2020mission · 24/06/2021 12:51

@Justanothercyster I'm still feeling worried about buying things πŸ˜… will need to start ASAP when we get this 20 week scan. Sadly I don't think my husband is like yours and I will have to organise most of it! You've lucked out haha. Have you decided on cot/crib/moses basket yet?

SamoyedFan123 · 24/06/2021 13:40

Waiting to get my last growth scan done now - nervous about how big he is going to be today!

lucyrp · 24/06/2021 13:47

@Justanothercyster that's interesting as I was going to suggest definitely not getting one of those to begin with! You'll have to let us know how you get on with transferring from the house to the car in different weather conditions and sleeping etc.

SamoyedFan123 · 24/06/2021 14:07

So measuring 9lb 5oz today which is nowhere near as much as I expected - I think the last scan was a bit out as she struggled to get some measurements. Absolutely gutted to find out that baby is now breech again after begin head down for the last 4 weeks. I really feel like crying as I guess my induction on Monday will be cancelled now. Waiting to see consultant next 😭
Sorry for the moany post x

lucyrp · 24/06/2021 14:16

@SamoyedFan123 omg I didn't realise you were so close! How many weeks are you now ? Can you not attempt an ECV? X

SamoyedFan123 · 24/06/2021 14:21

@lucyrp I'll be 38 weeks this weekend.
Just sitting in the waiting room trying not to cry in front of everyone tbh - don't know why I'm being such a baby about it.
They don't want to do an ECV due to anterior placeta and pervious c section but i might push for it. I was just so keen to get things started on Monday and now everything is up in the air again.

Justanothercyster · 24/06/2021 15:45

@2020mission plenty of time to go! We're actually doing it earlier than most I think haha, but dh is excited and it's his way of bonding with baby weirdly x

@lucyrp well after all that we've actually gone for the carrier/ travel system πŸ˜‚ only because of comparability with the car issues, but tbh if everyone is saying go for the carrier it's probably the best option!

@SamoyedFan123 ahh so frustrating! It's totally normal that you're feeling like that honestly, it's hard not to have a concrete plan in place so close to the time x

OP posts:
SamoyedFan123 · 24/06/2021 15:54

So my consultant doesn't do ECVs but he has sent out messages to the others asking if anyone is willing to try one for me next week. Induction is now off unless I can get baby to turn again over the weekend 😭

Missgoldilocks · 24/06/2021 15:55

Hey ladies sorry I've missed quite a bit. I've also had comments about my bump asking if I have twins 🀣 πŸ˜… or shocked when I say I have 5 weeks left. I've had people say I'm huge which is never nice to hear really especially when it comes from your OH mum!!! Ffs cheeky πŸ₯²

@SamoyedFan123 that's a lovely size baby, he could come out bigger too because you still have two weeks. My son was born 9.4lbs but I had to have a c section due to failure to progress. They measured him at 10.5lbs though so they were a whole pound off. With this baby now I had a growth scan at 32 weeks and he was 6lbs I have another growth scan on the 6th July (my due date is 24th July.) I'm really sorry to hear about the breech, they told me baby was breech last week but he still has time to move. Hopefully if you get an ECV the ECV works, I know a girl who had the ECV and it worked ❀️ have you looked up maybe different ways you can try and get baby to turn at home if they refuse it? X

@Justanothercyster
We got the icklebubba stomp v4 travel system in black and brown which comes with a car seat :)

@Gem176 hi :) I haven't been put on iron but it's quite common for iron to become quite low when preggo, are you taking vitamins etc? Defo get that red meat and green veggies in xx
