Mines is looking like the 29th December right now but I imagine it will be updated to a more accurate date after the first scan. Hopefully not Christmas Day πŸ˜… 🀞

Gem176 · 09/06/2021 11:19

21st September is my official due date but if all goes well baby will be here around 8th September.

Obviously hoping to hang on until then as it's best for those little lungs and just gives bubba the best chance of avoiding scbu. I'm also desperately hoping to hang on to then as I have tickets for a music festival on the 4th September... not hugely important but attending would be a lovely bonus πŸ˜‚

@2020mission that's my partners birthday and funnily enough it's also our date of conception when you work it out as 266 days back from due date πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚ as far as birthday presents go I don't think I can top this!!

@Justanothercyster bonfire night baby πŸ₯° my little cousin is and for years thought the fireworks were especially for her!!

Kirky658 · 09/06/2021 11:57

Omg my boss is trying to force me to work a weekend next month. How do I tell her, politely, to get stuffed and sod off because I don't care 🀣

2020mission · 09/06/2021 12:23

@Kirky658 she knows you're pregnant and is trying to get weekend work from you? Is she mad πŸ˜‚

Oh I totally missed that bonfire night due date! Might have fireworks going off as you give birth @Justanothercyster haha

I'm really hoping I'll be early and have the baby before Christmas Day so I can be home for my Christmas dinner

Kirky658 · 09/06/2021 12:32

@2020mission honestly she is living in a dreamworld! If it was up to me I'd be on maternity leave already 🀣 she's trying to sell it to me as well you'd get a day back in lieu, but then I'd be working 6 days that week and I can barely manage 5 atm!

Justanothercyster · 09/06/2021 12:49

@Kirky658 tell her a big fat no! Not right. I'm so glad I don't have to work weekends, used to hate it πŸ˜–

@Gem176 @2020mission yes! πŸŽ‰

OP posts:
lucyrp · 09/06/2021 13:59

@Kirky658 I have to work a day out of every weekend and because I hVe had a few days off after our holiday next week I have to work 2 full weekends 😭😭😭

My due date is august 16th but hoping for more like beginning of august. My birthday is the 17th so no thanks πŸ˜‚

Kirky658 · 09/06/2021 14:29

@lucyrp erugh that sucks! Haha my aunty and cousin, and my nan and other aunty have their birthdays on the same day!

@justanothercyster she wasn't happy but I told her I'm not doing it as my weekends are my time to relax!

2020mission · 09/06/2021 16:26

@lucyrp my mum and me share a birthday πŸ˜… I'm sure my mum loved that. Hopefully it will be a few days apart at least!

Clairey844 · 09/06/2021 17:22

@2020mission @lucyrp I'm due 27th July but pretty sure @SamoyedFan123 is ahead of me???

Because I only work 2 days a week I have just realised I have 8 working days left; summer holidays start here the 9th July so although I won't technically be on maternity leave I won't have to go to work πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

lucyrp · 09/06/2021 17:53

@Kirky658 not too keen on the idea of that somehow! I also have a 6 day in a row working week at the end of June which I don't think will be happening because I'll have to call in sick or something otherwise I'll be illπŸ₯Ί

@2020mission I'm hoping soπŸ˜‚πŸ€£

@Clairey844 I have 30 days left to woek πŸ₯²

Kirky658 · 09/06/2021 18:51

@clairey844 woohooo not long to go!
@lucyrp that 6 day week sounds mental, look after yourself!

I have 43 days to go!

Gem176 · 09/06/2021 19:25

@lucyrp @Kirky658 @2020mission my grandad and uncle have the same birthday. My mum was very close to her grandma and I was born the day after her birthday, she was most disappointed in my mum for not having me on her birthday, however I was born on Father's Day.

I'm not sure what to do about my mat leave now. I have accrued annual leave that starts on 22nd July taking me through to 1st September when mat leave officially starts but I'm not sure what happens if I end up having baby before mat leave begins (could happen from 24th august). Holidays can't be carried over and I'm not sure you can legally start mat leave any later than the day after baby arrives?? Do I take it all forward a week πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Gem176 · 09/06/2021 19:28

Oh and @lucyrp a six day week sounds like hell!! I'd be on my ass! I was awake from 5.30 this morning and I'm already knackered and know it's going to have a knock on effect tomorrow.

@Kirky658 cannot believe she even asked you to work weekends if that's not your normal pattern! If that was my boss I'd have laughed and assumed she was joking πŸ™ƒ

SamoyedFan123 · 09/06/2021 20:00

Hi ladies, sorry for not keeping up - I'm still struggling massively with this chest and sinus infection and feel bloody miserable so didn't want to moan at you all! Also the twins have chest infections and grumpy DH has caught it too - i feel like I haven't slept at all in the last 3 weeks 😭

@Clairey844 yes I think I'm due first - 11th July officially but as my baby is measuring huge I think I'll be induced just after 38 weeks (if it works as it will be a VBAC induction) so 3 weeks max left for me I think. Got another growth scan and consultant app tomorrow so might find out more then.

@Gem176 welcome back - I'm sorry to hear about your eye issues - sounds very scary!

Kate105 · 09/06/2021 20:43

I'm so glad I don't have to work weekends @Kirky658 @lucyrp (or at least when I do it's my choice!) definitely would not be able to do 6 straight days... I only have 6 proper working weeks left thanks to the summer hols πŸ₯³πŸ™ŒπŸ» but still no maternity cover sorted because HR is shit so pray for me ladies 😬

I'm due 28th Sept but my original DD was 3rd Oct. trying to keep that in my mind instead so I'm not too gutted when I inevitably go overdue πŸ˜‚

Had my 24 wk appointment today. What an anticlimax! Slightly disappointed nothing more exciting happened πŸ˜‚

lucyrp · 09/06/2021 21:00

@Kirky658 I'm on my feet all day from 9-5 at least so I'm not sure how I'm going to manage it 😩 I can't cope now never mind in a few weeks!

@Gem176 I'm awake from 6 every morning because that's when OH wakes to go to work, sometimes out of the house from 7 until around 6 ish at night πŸ₯Ί

Kirky658 · 09/06/2021 21:18

@lucyrp oh hun bless you. Try and rest whenever you can. I'm lucky I'm working from home so I can at least go and nap if I need to. I'm exhausted come 4:30 and need a nap! We get up at 06:15, DH leaves for school at 6:50 and is normally back at 6ish (can't wait for maternity leave πŸ™„)

@kate105 oh no! Have they started interviewing yet? They aren't getting cover in for my job either, essentially one of my colleagues will be doing the bare minimum needed to support my region so all the hard work I've put in over the last 2 yrs down the drain... 😩

Just had a bit of a meltdown. Watched a brief webinar about tips for childbirth and I realised I know NOTHING at all. I'm panicking now. I know people say that it's all instinct and you learn as you go but I want to prepare... We've got some antenatal classes booked for next month so hoping that will help.

Justanothercyster · 09/06/2021 21:50

@Kirky658 good on you for standing up to her, too right! And don't worry, it's normal to worry. My plan is just to let the professionals take over πŸ˜‚

@SamoyedFan123 oh no :( hope you feel better soon!

@Kate105 what happened at the apt?

So my ankles keep swelling after work which is fun, keeping an eye on it. Also feet KILLING me.
I didn't have a 16 week apt because of moving and changing midwife teams, what normally happens during those?

OP posts:
2020mission · 09/06/2021 22:33

@Justanothercyster I don't think I'm having a 16 week appointment either they just mentioned a 20 week one as the next after my 12 week one. It's going to be a long one at the 12 week too as they need to do all the bloods, urine, height, weight, blood pressure and whooping cough on top of the scan. Actually speaking of whooping cough... did anyone else get it at 12 weeks? Everything I read online said it's ideal from 16 weeks πŸ˜• seems a bit soon

Clairey844 · 09/06/2021 22:38

@SamoyedFan123 sorry you're still feeling rough-that seems to be lingering. I can't even imagine having twins and a hubby not on top form to contend with-my threenager is enough πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I'm hoping for a vbac too, good luck with the growth scan tomorrow-let us know what they say.

@2020mission mine was after my 20wk appointment-like you I seem to remember them saying between something and 32 weeks is ideal...but 12 seems early.

@Justanothercyster if I remember rightly about my 16wk appointment I was in and out in minutes-blood results from 12wk scan bloods, urine and bp check and off you go so a bit of an anti climax!

X

2020mission · 09/06/2021 22:48

Thanks @Clairey844 hoping it was wrong and maybe they meant the whooping cough vaccine will be at 20 weeks. Would prefer not having to have an injection after bloods drawn πŸ˜… ones enough!

SamoyedFan123 · 10/06/2021 06:29

@Justanothercyster my 16 week app was just like @Clairey844, very quick. Blood results, BP and urine check and a quick chat. I did ask to listen to the HB to but many MWs won't do it an this point - depends who you get.

I was also told 16 - 32 weeks for whooping cough vax and had mine at 17wk.
