@lucyrp all 3 of mine were 2 weeks early 1st was 8 pounds 12, second was 8pounds 11 and third 9pounds 3.5, they were all sections and really struggled to get my boy out last time so they are talking about growth scans and delivering at 37 weeks.

@Kirky658 you look amazing. Have the best time xx

DJmum83 · 03/06/2021 22:28

@Justanothercyster I'm so sorry about your friend. Awful for them.
Not long till scan then. Are you going to find out xx

Justanothercyster · 04/06/2021 07:22

I think I need a hand hold πŸ˜• this last few days have been a real struggle mentally, my anxiety about the baby is out of control. I think the news triggered it but I keep just feeling like I'm not pregnant anymore/ my belly isn't growing/ something is wrong. I feel light tapping movements every now and then but that's it because of the anterior placenta. Obviously I don't want to get a scan for reassurance because my 20 week one is in a couple of weeks but I feel like I'm going insane! What can I do to convince myself the baby is ok?? Blehhhh

@DJmum83 no not going to find out. Just want everything to be ok 😫

@Justanothercyster it's totally normal to feel this way especially after hearing such sad news it gives you a fright. The same happened to me with my first me and my friend were pregnant at same time she was ahead of me and things didn't go to plan.
I kept telling myself every pregnancy is different but it doesn't help the anxiety.
I would phone your midwife and explain how you are feeling she may see you and let you hear heartbeat to put your mind at rest.
Hope your ok don't suffer in silence. Xxx

Justanothercyster · 04/06/2021 08:16

Thank you for being so sweet @DJmum83 big hugs to you. It would be amazing to hear a heartbeat but I feel bad pestering them πŸ˜– I'll see how I go the next few days, hopefully like you said it's just the fright of it x

@Justanothercyster that sort of news is likely to panic you but it's really unlikely it would happen to you too. I can only suggest trying to keep busy to take your mind off it as much as you can. I don't have a bump so it's hard for me to suggest anything else for you as I don't have any experience of seeing a bump grow or feeling anything. I have absolutely nothing to suggest there's a growing baby inside me right now because of no bump and no scans to confirm, so I do understand the feeling of the unknown - it's tough! I've got just under 2 weeks to wait until my scan too and it feels so far away. Big hugs!

Kirky658 · 04/06/2021 18:04

@justanothercyster I'm in agreement with @djmum83, it's totally normal to be concerned about baby after what your poor friend has suffered. If it helps, I have an anterior Placenta too and it really scared me as I hadn't felt proper movements until literally 23 weeks so I was really starting to panic. Up to about 21 weeks they're so small that your placenta is in the way for you to feel their kicking etc. For me the only way to keep sane after my 20 week scan was to try and talk to baby, know she's OK until I was told otherwise, and know that everything is OK. Even now sometimes I have to have a cold drink and lie on my left side to feel her wriggling. Xx

lucyrp · 04/06/2021 21:42

Whoever I spoke to before about belly bars, be very careful when buying a longer plastic one. I bought one and finally gave in to changing it about a week ago and it's been sore the last couple of days, took it out and there's a slight line down the one side of it which has been cutting me up inside my piercing. Now its so sore πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί I've had to order a longer metal one and hoping thag will be fine as I don't want it to close up. My belly button looks so weird without anything in now though 🀣

Kirky658 · 04/06/2021 21:59

@lucyrp ouch hun that sounds really painful! My scar on my belly button from my op looks mighty attractive now I have to say πŸ™„

2020mission · 04/06/2021 22:37

Ouch @lucyrp thanks for the heads up I'll avoid the plastic ones when the time comes to take mine out! I've had mines pierced for about 15 years so will probably just take it out when I get too big until after the birth and just hope it doesn't heal. I'm still assuming after a pregnancy I'll be unlikely to ever be in a bikini again anyway πŸ˜…

Clairey844 · 04/06/2021 23:04

Hey everyone,
Glad everyone is keeping well, but so sorry to hear your friend's news @Justanothercyster - I think you now being worried is totally to be expected-keep yourself busy and hopefully your scan will be here before you know it. And you just need to remind yourself that whilst you haven't got anything to reassure you yet-equally there's been nothing to suggest anything isn't going right πŸ₯°πŸ₯° ultimately though we all know what it's like to drive yourself mad with worry and anxiety and nothing anyone says actually stops that lol.

@DJmum83 sorry you've been in hospital. Are you still getting the missing beat?? How scary for you. Massage sounds nice though, I've asked for one for my bday-there's a lady locally who has a cabin where she does treatments and she does a pregnancy massage a facial as one long treatment; can't wait to just lay and be pampered!

All good here (bar being in no way prepared for the fact my baby is due next month πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚). I was 32wks Tuesday, had a mw appointment last week and she said baby was head down and 2/5 engaged. Also had a growth scan and baby is estimated to already be 4lb something so all looking good.

Xx

lucyrp · 05/06/2021 02:10

@2020mission well I had mine done only a year ago and I have a 6 year old so never say never !

Thinkingandblinking · 05/06/2021 08:17

@Justanothercyster hope your feeling a bit better today, I find I get more anxious when I get tired and stressed so maybe early night or a day of distraction! Totally normal as others have said.

Mine 2 were both 2 weeks early and on the small side, last one considered small for age so I have extra growth scans booked this time!

Think I might be feeling some movement but it could just be gas...

Justanothercyster · 05/06/2021 08:23

@2020mission @Kirky658 @Clairey844 @Thinkingandblinking thanks for the hand hold ladies, needed to hear it all so it really helped πŸ’• just really hope everything is ok on the scan as I'm so paranoid he/she won't have grown or worse πŸ˜– trying to stay positive though today with the sun shining! Distraction is going to have to be my best friend.

@Thinkingandblinking they do say it feels like gas, so me it feels like someone tapping me gently from inside haha. Not very often though. Exciting stuff though! How far are you again?

I really don't want to take my belly ring out so I'll be waiting for an update on the long metal one @lucyrp haha

16 weeks now! 20 week scan beginning of July..x

Justanothercyster · 05/06/2021 09:39

@Thinkingandblinking oooh exciting! I've found the wait for this scan way worse than the 12 week one weirdly. Not long to go, hope you can keep more sane than me!

OP posts:
lucyrp · 05/06/2021 09:46

@Clairey844 I'm laughing to myself because I was reading something yesterday on social media about someone who'd gone for a pregnancy massage who was a first time mum and realised what was meant by losing your dignity when you have a baby because she had to straddle a chair completely naked for the lady to do her shoulders or something 🀣🀣

@Justanothercyster it's supposed to be arriving this next week and I can't wait mainly because I took mine out last night and by morning it was difficult to get back in and it's very sore with it in πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί

lucyrp · 06/06/2021 12:04

At 30 weeks pregnant I didn't think I'd still be doing 10km bike rides that for sure 🀣🀣

Thinkingandblinking · 06/06/2021 16:38

Any tips for bloating, mines really bad and making me lethargic, expecting 2nd trimester glow and it just hasn’t arrived....!

Justanothercyster · 06/06/2021 19:28

Should I be worried that my belly isn't that big still? I'm 18 weeks and feel like everyone else's is usually big and round by now! It's only because I've had a few people comment on how small I am for 5 months this past weekend and now I'm paranoid 😫

@Thinkingandblinking ah yes I still don't glow πŸ˜‚ bloating for me seems to be brought on by bread and carbs, but I think it's normal. Smaller and more frequent meals they say x

OP posts:
Clairey844 · 06/06/2021 19:47

@lucyrp ha ha, fortunately my treatments were a scalp massage and a foot massage so no naked straddling necessary πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
How are you doing? Xx

@Justanothercyster I really wouldn't worry about the size of your bump/lack of bump at this stage-there's a good reason that they don't measure bumps until 25/28 weeks as lots of people don't even look particularly pregnant even at 20 weeks, I certainly didn't look particularly noticeably pregnant to others at that stage with my first. Xx

Thinkingandblinking · 06/06/2021 21:37

@Justanothercyster I didn’t show with first until about 28 weeks, was small with second even full term, this one I feel massive in comparison and tbh it’s freaking me out, but probably just more normal...so honestly all sizes go!

lucyrp · 06/06/2021 21:42

@Clairey844 aww that's gutting I was having a right giggle thinking about it πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ yeah I'm good thank you! 30 weeks tomorrow! Eeek. How're you ? Xx

Kirky658 · 07/06/2021 09:14

@lucyrp bloody hell that's an impressive bike ride well done!
@justanothercyster I wouldn't worry about your bump as others have said, I didn't really start properly showing till about 22 weeks and it feels like mine just isnt getting bigger now haha

DJmum83 · 07/06/2021 13:58

Hi all

Everything went really well at our 20 week scan today baby girl is looking good.
Now just to get me feeling better, it's not my thyroid it's linked to low iron and low cortisol so medication should help soon .
Fingers crossed.

Xxx
