@DJmum83 glad you're feeling a little better! Maybe your mood will pick up more after your 20 week scan too when you can really relax a bit? Totally jealous of your cinema trip - what are you going to see? I'm so ill at the moment there's no way i can go anywhere 😭 think I perforated my eardrum last night during 3 hours of constant nose blowing due to the sinusitis so now I have awful earache too, horrendous cough, sore throat, head ache, swollen glands, streaming eyes, the lot and it really sucks not being able to take anything other than basic paracetamol πŸ˜”
I have a bugaboo donkey twin that I'm keeping and adding a buggy board too - can't be doing with a triple pram!

First day of potty training the twins today - super stressful!

lucyrp · 29/05/2021 17:59

@DJmum83 I have a second hand egg pram in Jurassic cream πŸ₯° think we might go to the cinema tonight but to see the conjuring but not sure baby will like that πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Kate105 · 30/05/2021 07:53

I got an Oyster 3 second hand off a colleague... seems ok πŸ˜‚πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ and bought a car seat yesterday! So think that's the worst of the big spending done πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Kirky658 · 30/05/2021 08:11

@samoyedfan123 sorry to hear your cold is no better 😟

Haven't killed my in laws yet, was considering it when MIL started talking at me about the baby last night because she'd had too much wine, going on about how important it was to get baby in a routine straight away if DH and I wanted to keep our marriage going. I was like well actually it's advised now not to worry about that till they're several weeks old as they need time to get used to being in the world! Amongst other gems. So it begins!!! Xx

lucyrp · 30/05/2021 11:00

Pretty sure Braxton hicks have started for me and its far too hot already today πŸ₯΅

Kirky658 · 31/05/2021 07:44

@lucyrp hope you're OK lovely ❀️
Finally headed home from the in laws this morning, if you fancy a laugh look at the bus thread for a summary of my weekend

Florence13 · 31/05/2021 13:19

@lucyrp sorry to hear your having some Braxton hicks and agreed it is rather hot.

@Kirky658 I feel you my MIL has a lot of opinions on everything from pregnancy to baby.

@SamoyedFan123 hope potty training the twins is going well.

Justanothercyster · 01/06/2021 12:24

Hello everyone πŸ’• sorry I've been absent, just been enjoying the weather and trying to get out as much as we can whilst it's half term. It's so hot! β˜€οΈ

I've heard some sad news from a friend who was due in a few weeks time which has really shaken me up this morning. My heart is just completely broken for her and I can't stop thinking about it all. Giving her some time and have offered her a shoulder to lean on. It's made me incredibly anxious and just so sad for the poor family πŸ’”

Hope everyone is doing ok 😘
@lucyrp sorry about the braxtons, that must be very unsettling. How is everything going with the gall stones?
@Kirky658 enjoy being back at home! All the unsolicited advice is a killer sometimes, especially when you just have to smile and grit your teeth.
@DJmum83 glad you're feeling a bit better, onward and upward hopefully x
@SamoyedFan123 hope potty training is going ok! One is hard let alone two!

@justanothercyster oh hun so sorry to hear about your friend. πŸ™β€οΈ Haha thanks it's good to be home!!! My concern is what they'll be like when the baby arrives but I've already said to DH if it causes arguments so be it, it's our way or no way.

Justanothercyster · 01/06/2021 12:46

@Kirky658 too right! You know what's best for your baby, they had their chance to do it and now it's your turn. Tbh as long as they're alive and healthy that's what matters haha. I'll be taking each day as it comes with little patience for others πŸ˜‚

2020mission · 01/06/2021 15:29

Aww so sorry for your friend @Justanothercyster πŸ₯Ί I'm not sure what's happened but it sounds bad. I'll never feel 100% safe until the baby is here as my cousin had a still birth with her first at 7 months. I don't know how she got through her following pregnancies but she had 3 healthy babies after that thankfully!

I'm feeling a bit off still my stomach hasn't settled and I'm just reaching 10 weeks tomorrow so really hoping in the next 2 weeks it will ease off. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a meal they are all an absolute chore to get down πŸ˜… but I am keeping everything down so it could be much worse.

@Kirky658 your in laws sound like a challenge! Hopefully they won't be too bad when baby is here. My mum told me her relationship with my gran (my dad's mum) changed after she had my brother. My gran said all sorts to her like when he was constantly crying "maybe your breast milk isn't enough for him" and "should you be crossing that road with the pram on your own" etc! Im surprised she didn't tell her where to go πŸ˜† I'm completely with you with fully cooking meats, lion mark eggs, washing salads - surprised they wouldn't have automatically done it. My husband rolled his eyes the first couple of times I asked if he washed my salad but once I showed him it written down in books he realised I wasn't just being OTT. I do think all parents will be a bit out of touch with pregnancy and newborns as it has been quite a while since they did it! 33 years ago for my mum πŸ˜…

Kirky658 · 01/06/2021 16:06

@2020mission they've always been challenging but I feel like they're testing me haha. I mean my DH was the same at first didn't get why but now he's very protective making sure meat is not pink, making sure eggs are stamped etc. I know the NHS change their rules etc but in the end of the day if you go off what it says now as far as I'm concerned you can't go far wrong x

SamoyedFan123 · 01/06/2021 19:52

@Justanothercyster I'm sorry to hear about your friend - hope you're OK ❀️
@Kirky658 MILs are a nightmare - mine invited herself to stay - twice! - for 2 weeks each time after my twins were born. I bit my tongue the first time and got through it but the second time we had a massive falling out and she knows she is no longer welcome in my house.

Sorry I'm so quiet folks, I'm still struggling with this horrific cold - it's awful sinusitis now abs the twins are up all night coughing so we're not getting much sleep. Can't even get through to the doctors on the phone as the queue is permanently full 😭

Justanothercyster · 02/06/2021 08:42

Thanks ladies, I'm just so heartbroken for her. To go through a whole pregnancy and then something go wrong at the last minute, I honestly can't imagine and empathise so hard with anyone whose been through that. Really scares me.

DJmum83 · 02/06/2021 20:11

Hi everyone

Haven't been on much as I'm not well signed off work and got taken to hospital at weekend.
Been suffering extreme tiredness like could sleep all day, headaches, low mood. Then at weekend thought I was taking heart attack but it's an ectopic heartbeat I have looking like it's my thyroid that is not working properly, it's happening constantly the missing a heart beat like dropping one, it makes me jolt and cough it's just awful.
Waiting on endocrinologist deciding what treatment to put me on.

How is everybody else doing xxx

Kirky658 · 02/06/2021 20:40

@djmum83 oh bless you hun, sounds so scary! Glad you are being looked after. Rest up xx

lucyrp · 03/06/2021 07:18

@DJmum83 oh no. Hope you're okay! Xxx

DJmum83 · 03/06/2021 20:19

Thanks everyone.
Should have a plan by tomorrow on what medication I'm going on.

I had a massage today see if it would relax me. Haven't really felt baby girl and I had actually mentioned to the midwife at beginning of week that I felt my others much earlier she had said not to worry until 24 weeks.
During the massage baby girl was going mad it was lovely to feel.

How's everybody keeping?
What scans do we have coming up?

Loving the twins on the other thread xxx

SamoyedFan123 · 03/06/2021 20:26

@DJmum83 I'm sorry to read that you've been so unwell - I hope you get sorted out with a treatment plan very soon. The massage sounds lovely!

lucyrp · 03/06/2021 20:27

@DJmum83 my next appointment is my 31 week one which will be a week on Monday and will find out then if I need to go for a growth scan or not, kind of hoping I do just so I can see them! Definitely don't want a big baby tho no thank you. Xx

Kate105 · 03/06/2021 20:44

Hi all nothing much to report but still keeping tabs on everyone! I'm sorry you're having such a rough time @DJmum83 and I'm sorry about your friend @Justanothercyster I want to ask what happened but I feel like I probably shouldn't know because that'll be guaranteed to be my next hypochondriac focus point πŸ™ˆ

On that note, don't know if anyone watches Hospital on BBC but if you do AVOID last week's episode! I thought it would be cute because it was all on the maternity ward but it was literally a catalogue of everything that can go wrong πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

DJmum83 · 03/06/2021 21:13

@lucyrp omg 31 weeks that has went so quick maybe not for you.
All mine were big so I'm expecting another big one. Last one was 9pounds 3.5 πŸ™ˆ

@Kate105 I watched it never again xx

lucyrp · 03/06/2021 21:16

@DJmum83 DS was 10 days early and was 8 pounds 1 πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ to be fair the second trimester has just ran away with me which I'm quite sad about actually πŸ₯Ίxx

Kirky658 · 03/06/2021 21:28

@DJmum83 sorry you're feeling so unwell :( hope they sort you out soon. My 20 week scan is on the 22nd :)

@Kate105 oh sorry I thought I'd made it fairly obvious but didn't want to say it to trigger anyone. She was due in a few weeks time but unfortunately is no longer pregnant πŸ’”

@Kirky658 you look lovely!
