@PurplePansy05 Oh no I’m so sorry you’re going through such a stressful time, I didn’t realise! I hadn’t seen you pop up in a while and worried I had missed something. I hope you and baby are all healthy? Great news about your house, I bet that has been a really nice focus for you.
@lucyrp Thank you, I’m going to be so disappointed if it is back, my daughter was so tiny due to pre eclampsia and I was really hoping we wouldn’t have that worry! Xx

So I was obviously measured yesterday at 28 weeks, my next midwife appointment isn't until 34 weeks and it's on the phone so obviously won't be measured then - anyone know if there will even be another appointment after that ? 🙄

Thank you @Millymay13 that's really kind of you ❤ xx

I think we are @Jessicapebbles. My instinct tells me so and I'm trying to stick to these thoughts. The geneticists offered me karyotype testing following a referral from rhe Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic a long time ago, they're very delayed. Made out to me that I should have these tests asap and presented risks that if my miscarriages were genetic in background then my current pregnancy may not survive or baby would be gravely ill, possibly incompatible with life. The way it was presented then and in the follow up letters was that there was a 25-50% chance of that. That has scared me to death, they called me at 25 weeks pregnant and just left me to decide whether to go ahead with the tests or not. DH and I chose not to. When I spoke to the consultant few weeks later at my growth scan, she was very angry that they told me these things. They are correct but on day one of a pregnancy which follows recurrent miscarriages and only if the cause was indeed genetic, which is very rare. With every week, a positive scan etc, the risk decreases and she said in her entire career she did not come across a stillbirth or severe illness that would have been caused by these issues and that would not have been picked up by now. This has reassured me but of course somewhere at the back of my mind, the overwhelming fear of losing him has been awoken again and it's very hard for me to just switch it off.

Anyway, this is not the space to talk about fears and worries, I wanted to explain what has happened and reassure those of you who might at some point hear something worrying that it's really important to get through to someone who knows your history and is able to put the statistics into context for you because your individual circumstances may well be very, very different in a positive sense. I am not the best person to say this obviously, but try your best not to worry straight away. I'm thinking of you all too and hoping you and the LOs are doing well. ❤😘 xx

@MM1993 that's odd ??? I have appointments like this and I'm a second time mum - 28,31,34,36,38,40,41 ? Seems weird they've skipped an appointment for you

@Jessicapebbles let's hope not 🥰

@PurplePansy05 Wow that is so awful of them to say that to you!! Thank goodness you seem to have a level headed consultant who can give you the reassurance you need. Totally normal for you to feel worried, especially with your history! Not long at all now until your little boy will be here to prove them all wrong! Xxx

@lucyrp no 31 week appointment for me either x

@alittlexmasmagic seems weird! As a STM you're supposed to have even less than FTM so strange some of you are having less appointments than me ! X

@lucyrp oh yeah the numbers are a bit out 🤯 that’s interesting though, think I’ll ask my midwife next appointment in that case how they figure out centiles. @Daffodil21 you actually had plotting on your chart from growth scans did you? Wish mine had that!

@Jessicapebbles ohh no, it’s a good job you’re being monitored but fingers crossed it doesn’t develop into pre eclampsia. I don’t know much about it, can they give you anything preventatively?

@PurplePansy05 glad to see you posting! Sorry they’re still stressing you out with it all but I’m glad scans seem all to be going okay. Exciting that the house is coming along too!

@lucyrp @alittlexmasmagic and @MM1993 next official midwife appointment for me is 33 weeks, it was meant to be 32 weeks but got pushed back. However I am going in for weekly blood tests to monitor antibody titers and my midwife is lovely- has measured my bump and generally has a chat so I feel like I’m getting extra midwife appointments

As a FTM my appointments are now 32, 36, 38, 40 and 41. It's ridiculous

@Whatshouldbemyusername Mine are 31(MW), 32 (growth scan), 36 (consultant & growth scan) and that's all I've been told. No idea if there is/should be anything more, presumably as you say in the final month. xx

We're going to need a new thread v soon again! I'll do a quick copy and paste jobby (I'll make sure not to include Champson though, I hope she's doing ok 💔)

I haven't had time to do a trawl through so it won't be completely updated.

@Inmypjsagain yeah mine did! I've attached again for reference.

@PurplePansy05 good to hear from you again x

@Inmypjsagain I’ve been on Asprin since the beginning to try and prevent it happening again. I think it’s developing later than last time so maybe it has helped a little! Time will tell I guess 😭 baby is certainly doing well regardless, she’s been rolling around all evening! Xx

@PurplePansy05 I'm sorry you've had that experience - they really should know better and handle the situation with more sensitivity. I'm so glad that everything is going well for you now - try to focus on that. There is always a chance that things can go wrong, but if all the monitoring from your consultant has been positive that's a great sign.

@Jessicapebbles what a shame about the pre-eclampsia. are you also still on the medication for your IBD? I'm about to come off of mine at 32 weeks - so only two more treatments to go (they are bi-weekly injections). my inflammation levels are the lowest they've been since I was diagnosed in 2016, hoping that prevents flares around the birth.

@Inmypjsagain thanks darling. That's very helpful. It's only 20 min or so drive from mine and at the moment am with St. Thomas and it's getting harder to go on the train. I had to go in this week for reduced movement and growth scan and it was a mission to get to and I'm not too comfortable on the trains without the vaccine too.

I spoke to them and they said that I can swap to them. I've had a low risk pregnancy so far so I am hoping I'm ok there. Thanks so much for the detailed experience. When are you due again?xx
