@Ready2020 that's the one that's my second choice! Will defo get it if the one I've ordered is no good x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 30/05/2021 22:56

Ah all look so great. Thanks for sharing a@lucyrp and @K2a0t1i5e.

I just placed an order for the babymel one after all.

It’s so exciting isn’t it. ♥️♥️

Ready2020 · 31/05/2021 06:08

I feel like my body isn't dealing with the sore hips and back as easy as it did a few weeks ago. I go to bed feeling sore and now still wake up feeling sore. I don't think the last few days have helped much as I've been fairly active but usually rest helps.

OH wants to dismantle the bed today so we're ready to go in the morning for moving but I'm genuinely worried I'll not be able to get up from the floor for me usual 3 night time pee breaks!

Are any first time mums getting a little bored of the unasked advice being given to you on various baby things? OHs step dad spent a good 15 minutes explaining about how to fit a car seat despite my saying my friend had already shown me. Plus the jokes about sleepless nights are wearing thin too.... I'm probably just being a bit grump tbh. I just smile and nod.

MM1993 · 31/05/2021 09:38

The unsolicited pregnancy advice is definitely wearing thin. The 'you need this, you won't need this, I did/didn't use this, just you wait until this happens' is literally driving me insane. I'm not the type of person to ever really ask anyone's opinion or advise but everyone is so quick to give theirs !

alittlexmasmagic · 31/05/2021 10:02

@MM1993 just wait for the unsolicited hand-me-downs!
Don't get me wrong, I was extremely grateful for many but some folk just used it as an excuse to get rid of any old items. I know I was given a huge bag of "neutral" small baby/newborn winter clothes which had gone grey in the wash. DS was straight into 0-3 months and also born in August.x

BertieBotts · 31/05/2021 11:13

Ha ha ha yes all the hand me downs... (Love a hand me down though!) and advice wears really thin. Try not to take it as judgement if you've chosen to do something else BTW - people just get excited and nostalgic, I've learned to try and see it as that.

SIL is apparently sending us loads of stuff she found at a car boot in size 3-6 months Confused We still have everything from DS2 in size 3-6 months! I'm going to have to open my own baby bazaar soon :o

HopefulB · 31/05/2021 16:15

No change bag for me- I have an abundance of rucksacks, so I will be shocked if I can’t work with one of them!

I’ve just given in and ordered a bouncer though! (BabaBing Lobo2)

I’m loving the sunshine, but hope it’s not too much warmer in August!

lucyrp · 01/06/2021 07:24

@HopefulB I have a few bags already but like to have a designated one for changing, I didn't actually use a changing bag much past 6 months with DS anyway I just bought a big bag I could fit loads into which was great as changing bags always end up doubling up as your handbag. Who carries an extra bag just for your purse and phone ?! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

lucyrp · 01/06/2021 07:37

Anyone think a baby bjorn bouncer in black mesh is a bargain for £35???

BertieBotts · 01/06/2021 07:42

Sounds good - go for it!

wimbler · 01/06/2021 09:46

@lucyrp Yes!!

Ava50x · 01/06/2021 11:17

I've had a Babymel changing bag with my first, but I didn't like it- I felt it was too big. I'm a bit of a minimalist, and babies honestly don't need all that much stuff. I ended up with a tiny little bag that slips over the buggy handles. Has enough space for a couple of nappies, wipes, a spare vest, a dummy and I can't think what else I would have carried around with me!
You don't have to go for a big expensive changing bag if you don't want to...

Whatshouldbemyusername · 01/06/2021 11:49

Thanks for this @Ava50x - I wanted to get a cheap £23 off Amazon but it was even bigger. The babymel one works for me from the sounds of it as I can put my stuff there too. I never go anywhere without a book and my purse etc. So I can squeeze those in 😁 x

@lucyrp £35 for baby bjorn is a steal! X

Caz1226 · 01/06/2021 13:29

Hi ladies hope everyone had a lovely bank holiday
I don’t know about anyone else but all of a sudden I feel like a whale ha!
My stomach feels so heavy and I just feel exhausted by tea time!
I weighted myself and I’ve put on 2.5 stone( but I did lose a stone at the beginning due to sickness so technically only 1.5 stone) I’m not eating lots of rubbish and exercising when I can- recently started swimming as well but whether it’s because it’s become warmer I’m not sure but I officially feel 9 months pregnant rather than just 29 weeks ha!
Not long to go for us all though xx

wimbler · 01/06/2021 14:16

@Caz1226 I also feel huge and I saw a friend who is due in a few days then realised how much growing I still had to do Shock I feel much bigger this time round as well, I don't remember being this big last time. I feel so stretched and bloated at the end of the day too - it's so uncomfortable.

I forgot that pregnancy makes your skin far more sensitive to the sun as well...looking a little red after the weekend Blush

Caz1226 · 01/06/2021 14:34

@wimbler awww bless you I’m normally a sun worshipper but I was pretty much in the shade all weekend I just couldn’t stand the heat ad was sweating far too much 😂 oh the joys!
Yea my best friend is due exactly 5 weeks before me and I look at her (albeit it is her second and this is my first) and I think surely my stomach can’t get that much bigger haha- how naive of me! Xx

Inmypjsagain · 01/06/2021 14:45

Hi all. What glorious weather, just done an order of baggy dresses as I’ve just realised how uncomfortable the weather is going to be now that it seems summer has actually arrived! Hope you all had a good long weekend.

I feel bloated at the end of the day but my stomach still not that big (had another bump measurement this morning when I went to give more blood and bump isn’t even in the centile measurements now, I’m in the minus figures. Midwife said I probably had strong abdominal muscles which made me laugh, though I am surprised even with bump you can still see some ab lines? Not sure how that works...) boobs in the meantime are now a J cup and poke out way more than my stomach 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve also this week developed cellulite for the first time in my life so that’s not a welcome new addition 😂 can I make it go?!? Is it just body brushing or does nothing work and it’s just part of the weight gain?

Am really counting down for maternity leave now!

Inmypjsagain · 01/06/2021 14:46

And OH we’re more sensitive to the sun?! This makes sense! I put my usual factor 50 and wondered why I looked so pink! Hopefully will turn brown in the next few days but I thought that was unusual!

biscuitcat · 01/06/2021 14:53

@Caz1226 yes feeling enormous here! And definitely getting uncomfortable - I'm currently having a break from work and just lying flat because everything feels squashed up and uncomfortable, no fun at all.

I keep forgetting about sun sensitivity too - definitely caught the sun a bit over the bank holiday... and feeling the heat more than usual too, I had to sleep with the duvet only half on me last night which is really unusual, I'm usually snuggled up even in the height of summer

Ava50x · 01/06/2021 14:56

@Whatshouldbemyusername my pleasure! Hopefully the Babymel will work for you.

@Caz1226 yes feeling huge suddenly. Haven't had much of a bump until now- barely gained a few pounds, and suddenly i'm this big heavy beach ball and so uncomfy!

BertieBotts · 01/06/2021 15:00

Yes my movement is starting to get restricted and my hips are starting to get sore - not much fun :(

WolfMother326 · 01/06/2021 16:39

Hi all - is anyone finding their baby's movements really crazy this week? I can suddenly feel everything so much stronger and it's often pretty uncomfortable. Glad he's ok, but yikes it does hurt sometimes. Apparently at 30w baby's kick power is equivalent to 5 kilos of weight, but it goes down to 2.5 by week 35 (according to a medical study I read). So hopefully will get a little better.

@Caz1226 I am also feeling huge all of a sudden at 29w, the swimming definitely helps though doesn't it? for just a bit you can forget about the extra weight.

@Inmypjsagain I also am thinking that i need to order more sun dresses that will fit through August - also maybe maternity shorts?

On the point of burning - I went to the sea this weekend and other than when I got in the water (cold but amazing) I kept a hat and light coloured sleeves on plus tons of sun cream. I burn normally so am extra paranoid!

wimbler · 01/06/2021 17:17

@WolfMother326 I don't really get as many kicks any more but rather whole body movements and body parts pushing out. When i'm lying in bed I can feel baby pushing on both sides of my bump and pushing into the mattress and out the other side

Inmypjsagain · 01/06/2021 17:41

@wimbler I felt that mattress pushing this weekend!! It was so weird lol my stomach just seems to wobble with movement now

@WolfMother326 that 5 kilo kick is interesting! 😂 certainly feels like it! I’ve gone for long dresses on the assumption my hair removal will start to slack! But some of the shorts I’ve looked at look too short for me these days. Also I worried I’ll spend a fortune on clothes I won’t really wear again after this summer...

wimbler · 01/06/2021 19:28

For clothes if you don’t mind wearing second hand I’d recommend the vinted app. I got a lovely pair of Isabella Oliver trousers for work on there for £5. They were in perfect condition and would normally cost at least £40 new
