@Caz1226 just got a call too. My iron levels are at 97 and the normal is 105 or something. They've asked me to take 2 ferrous sulphate 200mg a day with orange juice.

She did say that it's very common at this stage to need iron supplements x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 28/05/2021 16:25

@wimbler and @Daffodil21 thanks for the tips x

Smurf123 · 28/05/2021 17:21

I've been told mines 111 and I've been on iron tabs since 20 weeks every other day.. was 110 in April last week came back at 111. Feel like l should probably be taking them every day not every other day but that's what's been prescribed

Smurf123 · 28/05/2021 17:22

Was told normal range is 115-165

alittlexmasmagic · 28/05/2021 17:45

Can't remember which thread it was but for people suffering with pregnancy migraines, I've just spotted these in Morrison's on offer for £1.70 x

@wimbler ah right, in my head a rupture didn’t sound so bad but clearly it’s a risk. Really hope the midwife gives you some useful and practical advice so you get the birth you want- or as near and safely as possible!

@Daffodil21 I’m sure waiting a week will be fine!

To those of you new to iron, don’t be shocked if your poo goes black/dark green! And If you’re struggling with pregnancy constipation already I’d really recommend taking some stool softeners or fybogel now- iron is bad enough for blocking you up without the help of pregnancy hormones!!!

Woo bank holiday weekend 🎈 🎉 am so excited for three lie ins in a row!

HopefulB · 29/05/2021 04:43

Eugh! I’ve joined the heartburn club @27weeks. Thought itwas a one off Thursday night as we ate late, but back with avengence last night & has woke. Me up at 4am 🤢

Smallbean27 · 29/05/2021 07:39

@HopefulB I was the same had it for 3 nights, took some gaviscon before going to bed the next night and now it has settled again. Hope it will settle, it really is awful!

biscuitcat · 29/05/2021 19:52

Hope everyone's been able to enjoy some of the lovely sunshine today ☺️

I'm just wondering, has anyone else found their bump starting to grow much more quickly? It's only about 6 weeks since I've been able to squeeze into normal jeans, now I feel absolutely enormous and quite uncomfortable, and can't imagine getting bigger for 10 more weeks!

Daffodil21 · 29/05/2021 20:01

@biscuitcat yep. Every time I catch my reflection in a window I think 'woah' 😂

The sun has suddenly come out here now too so now I have nothing to wear! I couldn't really find anything nice online without spending a fortune, which seems silly for a couple of months. But at the same time I need clothes to wear when it's warm! In the end I ordered a few things from Dorothy Perkins and Sainsbury's, and my mum has bought me a nice dress from jojo madam Bebe. Hope some things fit at least!

Anyone found anything nice elsewhere? I looked at ASOS and new look but nothing really took my fancy! Preferably not too spendy as I'm unintentionally on maternity leave now!

lucyrp · 29/05/2021 21:27

@biscuitcat 6 weeks since you've been able to fit into normal jeans ?!😱 jealous, it's been at least 16 weeks since I could fit in mine 😂🙈 I have noticed this last week I'm suddenly more round and feel bigger where as I hadn't noticed much change since about 20 weeks before.

@Daffodil21 I've just been living in bodycon dresses which are about £20 each, I have 3 different ones and a couple of midi skirts too I can pair with tops I already have! Still have the same 2 pairs of leggings which are wearing thin but seems silly to buy anymore when I won't be using them much longer. Bought Everutning off ASOS ☺️

Daffodil21 · 29/05/2021 21:39

@lucyrp I've got 3 pairs of ASOS leggings so I'm good for leggings 😂 I do live in them though! It's just warmer weather I don't have anything that fits. Hopefully some shorts and dresses I've ordered will be ok!

lucyrp · 29/05/2021 21:40

@Daffodil21 I tried finding some top shop jamie jeans second hand on ebay in maternity and they kept selling for stupid prices I couldn't justify so I've literally just got my dresses and leggings. Since I've been pregnant I'm such a hot person so anything warmer than 10 degrees and I'm ina. Dress 😂 seems to be the only comfortable thing I can wear too !

Daffodil21 · 29/05/2021 21:51

@lucyrp I definitely feel too old and big for topshop these days!! I do have a couple of nice t shirt dresses from new look though. They came in a pack of two for something like £20 so we're an absolute bargain!

OP posts:
lucyrp · 29/05/2021 21:53

@Daffodil21 most of my jeans are from topshop apart from mom jeans I got recently from strativarius which were only like £20 each 🤣 you're not big at all! Bargain! I thought my dresses at £20 each were a bargain 🙈🤣

Daffodil21 · 29/05/2021 21:59

@lucyrp they're actually on sale atm so now £18 for two!

If anyone is interested:

www.newlook.com/uk/womens/clothing/dresses/maternity-2-pack-black-stripe-jersey-dresses/p/674563199

I feel like all my maternity stuff is either black or black and white stripe though 😂

OP posts:
biscuitcat · 29/05/2021 22:54

@lucyrp it took ages for my bump to pop and I think it's now making up for lost time!!

@Daffodil21 I've got some dresses from next and ASOS - I also feel too old for topshop! And also a couple of non-maternity ones that still fit for now, but I think will only do the next few weeks. I'd love to do bodycon ones, but I feel like my bump is an odd shape and so they don't look as lovely as on others who have shared pics!

Ready2020 · 30/05/2021 11:26

I'm still on the iron tablets too but find I take 1 a day rather than 2 as I really don't want to get too constipated. I take that natural iron stuff too.

I've had a couple of days away in Aberdeen, staying at a local Jury's Inn. It's been lovely but a bit overwhelming. Not seen this many people in ages! Heading home today via Stonehaven for fish and chips then back to the packing tomorrow and moving on Tuesday.

lucyrp · 30/05/2021 18:22

@Ready2020 floradix??

Think I've had my first lot of Braxton hicks this morning and it's too hot here today to be pregnant 🥵 been car seat shopping and finally sorted that out. Changing bag arriving next week, also decided on a carrier. Just want to get a bouncer now and then I'm done 😅

Whatshouldbemyusername · 30/05/2021 19:58

@lucyrp what changing bag did you get? I’m looking at babymel but before I order want to see if any other good options out there x

lucyrp · 30/05/2021 20:10

@Whatshouldbemyusername I've only gone for an egg one which goes with my pram, but I bought it seperately off eBay second hand but brand new if that makes sense. Otherwise I was going to get a bababing one, the rucksack type ones. I might still end up getting one of those if this is useless x

Whatshouldbemyusername · 30/05/2021 20:30

Thanks @lucyrp. I’m looking at the Robyn babymel one. Looks really nice. I had picked a cheap one from Amazon but then thought I’d just treat myself. This one is about £60 from babymel x

lucyrp · 30/05/2021 20:37

@Whatshouldbemyusername ah yes I've just looked and it's on offer at the moment isn't it ?? I paid £60 for this bag but its supposedly £250 brand new 😅 would never pay that for it but thought second hand basically brand new was a bargain! x I also liked the look of a cheap one from aldi and similar on Amazon but thought I'd try this first and if not I'll sell it on and get a different one!

K2a0t1i5e · 30/05/2021 21:42

@Whatshouldbemyusername
I have gone for the Tiba & Marl Rucksack, it's it's very unisex for the husband, heard loads of good reviews from friends and it is beautiful xx

Ready2020 · 30/05/2021 22:15

@lucyrp yup that's the one. Such a difference being on them.

My sister is getting me a bag as a gift. This one I think...
