@Daffodil21 sorry to hear you're worrying, that sounds like a scary thing to have. I don't know enough medically to say what it sounds like, but if you haven't already, have you thought about calling the midwives/hospital back? Even if it is nothing sometimes having that reassurance is really important.

I had a really horrible night last night, my hips were so sore and I had heartburn and I was just crying to my poor old DH about how sick I am of being pregnant - it doesn't seem fair that the preparation for an exhausting newborn is feeling sick and sore for months.

notinthestarsigns · 16/05/2021 10:02

Have you had any pains aswell @Daffodil21? If you’re still worried maybe phone maternity again and see if you can go in so they can check you’re cervix is still closed.

Daffodil21 · 16/05/2021 10:44

I just called and they're going to check this afternoon. She doesn't think I need to be seen but she said she could hear the panic in my voice so she's going to check.

@lucyrp ah that's interesting. Right is def best for me but maybe I should give left a chance

@Daffodil21 oh good, the likelihood is everything is fine, but if you are worried that is a valid reason for getting checked out as the worry won’t be good for you or baby!

notinthestarsigns · 16/05/2021 11:08

@biscuitcat I know how you feel, I was only saying to my husband last night how tired of pregnancy I am feeling at the moment!

alittlexmasmagic · 16/05/2021 13:04

Similarly I told DH he was going for the snip once this baby was safely out 😂 x

Daffodil21 · 16/05/2021 15:03

Just been checked - all ok! The lady was lovely and very thorough. Even did bump measurement and Doppler. Little bit of protein in urine so that's being sent away along with a swab. I even showed her the pic Blush and she wasn't concerned. Phew!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday x

HopefulB · 16/05/2021 16:10

Glad you got checked out @Daffodil21, and that all is well, must have been a really anxious time for you.

Absolutely shattered today - there’s a possibility I tried to cram too much into my days off!!

Ready2020 · 16/05/2021 16:30

@Daffodil21 glad you got it looked at. Always better to check.

My baby has been doing somersaults since last night. I got such a crap sleep as she's just been going crazy. She's still at it today. I think she's turned around as I'm getting kicks up top now.

I discovered my baby books when packing today and been having a read. My friend gave me What to Expect When You're Expecting. It's not too bad.

notinthestarsigns · 16/05/2021 19:48

Glad everything is ok @Daffodil21!

Daffodil21 · 16/05/2021 19:55

Thanks all. Had managed to convince myself I could be going into early labour Blush hugely relieved that is not the case!!

biscuitcat · 16/05/2021 20:04

Phew @Daffodil21, what a relief. And so lovely to hear that they brought you in because they could hear how worried you sounded.

HopefulB · 17/05/2021 20:31

Has anyone found anything to relieve itching boobs??
It’s driving me nuts. I’m moisturising twice a day, and have soft, breathable bra. But no joy.

I really hope they’re not growing more!!

Millymay13 · 17/05/2021 21:17

@HopefulB I’ve been using the bio oil on boobs and bump since 12 weeks and not had any itching. Although who knows if they would have itched without!
My issue is the skin on my bump and lower back feeling so stretched all the time, I feel like I might burst!

alittlexmasmagic · 18/05/2021 08:24

@HopefulB not really, although massaging in moisturiser is better than scratching. I find it's hormonal as I've had it when not pregnant too.
If like me you've scratched it red raw, then a bit of Sudocrem is really soothing x

lucyrp · 18/05/2021 13:09

@HopefulB I find my nipples are really itchy at the moment and I've been leaking clear colostrum for over 6 weeks now. Nightmare

BertieBotts · 18/05/2021 13:15

I have one boob which is still producing milk for my toddler even though I'm desperately trying to wean him Hmm and the other is not producing milk at all - he tried to feed from it the other day and it was agony! But the non-producing one makes little crusts that I spend time picking out Blush it's really satisfying and does help with the itching but you probably need to be careful not to make it sore.

Ready2020 · 18/05/2021 13:36

I've not had any leaking at all which of course then makes me think I'll have trouble feeding. I guess it'll come in once she's here....

2 weeks until I move house and 23 working days left until maternity leave! Hurry up!

Daffodil21 · 18/05/2021 13:48

@Ready2020 I haven't either. I assumed this was normal..?!

Hope the 23 days don't drag too much!!

OP posts:
Ready2020 · 18/05/2021 13:59

@Daffodil21 it probably is normal. I'm a secret worrier 😏

biscuitcat · 18/05/2021 14:08

@Ready2020 23 days, the dream! I'm not finishing till the 22nd July or thereabouts, feels like ages away 😩

Is anyone else really struggling with productivity? I've got so little done for work today, it's dreadful. I keep wanting to skive off and clean the house which is completely unlike me! I wonder if that's nesting? I didn't think that would be so early though

Ready2020 · 18/05/2021 14:16

@biscuitcat my official leave starts on the 21 July but I'm taking 2 weeks annual leave before then plus 2 and a half weeks between now and the 7 July for moving house and having a wee trip up north. So it's still a wee while away.

I just want to pack rather than have to sit at my desk. My work isn't too busy just now. A mix of some work being passed over already, the Scottish Government not being organised yet plus I think my manager is reducing my work load generally due to all the personal issues I've had. Which I appreciate.

Ready2020 · 18/05/2021 14:17

Has anyone bought a special lamp or anything to have for night feeds? Like a dimmer lamp? I'm looking to get one.

WolfMother326 · 18/05/2021 14:19

I haven't had any leaking yet, but my nipples have been dry and white and painful for a month or so. I started using Mady By Midwife's No Harm Nipple Balm and it really helped them stop hurting, but now I seem to have little red/bloody looking spots on the nipples. Doesn't seem like a great forecast of things to come!

Daffodil21 · 18/05/2021 14:24

@Ready2020 I had thought about buying a battery powered one I can stick to the wall but I'm not even sure these exist anymore or what is actually practical so ideas welcome!
