@Whatshouldbemyusername thanks, just hopeing she doesn't deteriorate too badly.
Baby was breech at my appointment last week but don't have another proper midwife check for 5 weeks. Not too worried yet but since DD was breech from this point going forward without budging I'm not too optimistic! will cross that bridge if and when we come to it though.
baby is currently sitting in my right hip though which is really uncomfortable today!

Caz1226 · 12/05/2021 12:16

Hi everyone
I’ve bought a kinder craft lovi 3 in 1 crib instead of a traditional Moses basket but the mattress dimensions are length 78 and width 41 and I’m struggling to find sheets
Anyone have one and can help?
Thanks x

lucyrp · 12/05/2021 12:26

@wimbler my baby is breech currently too😖 although she described them as "free" but feet down x

wimbler · 12/05/2021 12:39

@lucyrp I can't remember if this is your first? plenty of time still for them to turn although given my past history we shall see! lots of kicks to the cervix and very low down - are you the same!?

lucyrp · 12/05/2021 12:42

@wimbler it's my second, my DS is 6 ☺️ yeah that's what my midwife said, she said feeling where they are at the moment is just for a bit of fun. The day of my appointment I had very heavy cervix kicks and a couple of days after but not really sure how they're sat at the moment. I feel like they may have moved but getting pains in my leg today so feel like they're sat on a nerve. The kicks are still quite low !

Ava50x · 12/05/2021 13:01

@Whatshouldbemyusername thanks for update re GTT, glad all good for you!
Also re GBS testing, are you sure you can't do it under NHS? At my hospital you can, i've done it with all 3 pregnancies. I think the issue with Group B Strep is that even if you test negative, say at 37 weeks, you might become positive at 40 weeks so its tricky...

And talking of anterior placentas, I've not had much movements but have been having a kick or two daily. Yesterday I didn't have any movements all day so dragged myself off to Obstetric Assessment Unit to check. Thank goodness all was OK, but my god, the nerves!! Hope this won't become a regular occurrence because I can't cope with the anxiety!

They also told me there was some protein in my urine so sending off to the lab because my blood pressure OK so hopefully just a fluke and not a sign of pre-eclampsia. Babba keeping me very busy!!

80x40cm should fit fine, which is actually the same dimensions as a standard pillowcase! So you could even use one of those.

Two more blog posts today - it was actually one but I ended up splitting it into two because it was too long :o

I will add pictures when I dig my newborn seat out of the cellar, to make it more readable and clear and break it up a bit but you lot get a sneak preview Wink

Today's topic is getting to know/setting up your car seat before your baby is born, and then how to fit them in the seat for the first journey home from hospital. So will probably only be useful to you if you've already chosen and bought a car seat. I'll repost closer to our due dates so don't worry if you haven't yet.

Daffodil21 · 12/05/2021 13:28

Just on the topic of cribs. I mentioned a little while ago that I'd bought the Inovi cocoon crib to hopefully deter the cats. Well as you can see by the pic it didn't work!!!!

Oh dear @Daffodil21! Our cat had us up several times in the night last night, we really can’t be having it when the baby arrives 🤦‍♀️ We are expecting to be in our new house before then so the plan is that we will shut the cat in the kitchen/diner over night but I can see the whole thing being a nightmare! I’m really busy at work at the moment but at the point where I’ve completely had enough of it, I would finish tomorrow if I could! Think it doesn’t help that I’ve been working from home since last March which I have hated anyway, just so isolating and I miss the social interaction and the need to leave the house!

MM1993 · 12/05/2021 14:37

I created the thread Cats & Cots @Daffodil21 - glad you've posted this as means I won't order it 😂 I think I'm just going to wait and see what happens with the cat as I really can't predict whether she'll be interested in baby or not.

@notinthestarsigns - my cat has me up during the night Every. Single. Night ! WW3 starts if I shut her out the room tho, so will be an experience once baby is here

@LottSE20 - I mentioned a little while ago that I had to have Anti-D and was booked in for a blood test the day before, midwife just told me they needed up to date bloods on the system however that doesn't really explain the need for bloods the day before as I had bloods a few weeks ago where it was confirmed baby is RH positive. Doesn't bother me but is annoying that i have to make 2 trips to the hospital in 2 days!

notinthestarsigns · 12/05/2021 15:05

@MM1993, our cat has never been shut in a room at night, he has always had free roam of the house, my only hope is that it might work if we’re in a new house and he hasn’t known any different there but I have a feeling he’ll be a nightmare! I just know that we can’t have the baby waking us up one hour then the cat the next hour!

Daffodil21 · 12/05/2021 15:17

@notinthestarsigns I know, I'm dreading seeing the cats response! They're just so needy that I don't know how they're going to react! Urgh that does not sound fun. I was sort of in the same boat until a few weeks ago in that I've been wfh since March, but I actually didn't mind it most of the time so I can't really complain! Also meant less time dealing with my boss 😀. When are you set to finish?

@MM1993 I should have posed the pic to that thread as well instead of just a description! My MN seems to be playing up atm but I'll post when it sorts itself out!

Our cats (we have two) have always had free roam as well. On the odd occasion where our bedroom door has been shut they scratch at it to come in - just soo needy!

OP posts:
biscuitcat · 12/05/2021 15:22

@Daffodil21 😂 not quite the desired effect then! I've had to put the mattress in the cot on its side for now as the cat keeps eyeing it up. She's an antisocial thing though, so I suspect when there's a baby in it she'll steer well clear.

@Ava50x oh that sound sound anxiety inducing - glad everything was alright. I called the midwives at midnight the other night as baby was so quiet when usually they kick the living daylights out of me at bedtime. Luckily he/she started kicking when I was on the phone - the midwife said I could come in if I wanted to but it was so late and I had such a busy work day the day after that I decided not to and luckily all was fine - though maybe not the most sensible decision...

@Whatshouldbemyusername at the risk of sounding really ignorant, could I ask what Group B Strep is and why I'd test for it? I've not come across that before!

@Ready2020 it might have been me asking about pelvic floors! Mine seem to be doing the trick for now, and I've also decided to make sure I visit a women's health physio for a post-baby check up/support after baby is here so if I do have any worries or issues I can get help early, if you're worrying it could be worth thinking of doing that?

Ready2020 · 12/05/2021 16:29

@biscuitcat oh I didn't know there was such a thing. I'll look that up!

I have 2 cats too. I've had them both for about 13 years and they are quite needy. Milo is now deaf and in the last year started yowling at about 4am every morning. We now shut him in the kitchen and it's bliss! I felt really bad about it at first but he's quite happy with the bed next to the radiator. Our other cat is a bit less social and quite quiet but more likely to freak out with the baby though.

In the new house we're hoping to keep them out our room and what will be the nursery. We can't put them both in the lounge though as Milo will eat Pagans food (we have machines for breakfast biscuits that go off at 5am). So she will need to have some of her own space. Our new house is much smaller than the one we're in now so they'll have to find their safe spaces.

Ready2020 · 12/05/2021 17:02

I got my iron prescription today and it's 2 tablets a day. They are 350mg tabs of ferrous fumarate. Just incase anyone was curious.

notinthestarsigns · 12/05/2021 17:05

@Daffodil21, I know what you mean about less time dealing with your boss, I think it was the fact that I had to speak with mine today that put me in a bad mood! I’m finishing on 9 July so not too bad but just feels like forever away still at the moment!

I’m glad we’re not the only ones worrying about cat probs! Think we’ll just have to wait and see also, I’m sure we’ll figure it out one way or another!

BertieBotts · 12/05/2021 18:54

:o :o That is clearly not a cot but a dedicated cat exploration tent!

N1985T · 12/05/2021 19:29

Hi, I’m new to this my sister recommend as I’m very anxious and thought it would be good to speak to some other expectant mums! 🤗 Just been reading through.. I’m 25 weeks on Saturday and not felt much movement yet - feel like I should be by now ! X

Whatshouldbemyusername · 12/05/2021 21:27

@Ava50x ah yes the group b must differ trust to trust.

Bless - I know how it is with movement. I honestly think having an anterior placenta doesn't help much as well with the lack of movements does it.

@wimbler fingers crossed your daughter will be well soon. Did you have your appointment today?

@biscuitcat so group b strep is a sort of bacteria which lives in the vagina and is harmless but Can pass to baby at birth and if not diagnosed can be fatal in a few cases. The NHS doesn't test for it but as @Ava50x said that some trusts do it. And she just brought to my attention that sometimes it can show up at week 40 so 🤷🏽‍♀️

@N1985T welcome and congratulations 👏🏽. I'm week 25 +3 today and all I can say is all pregnancies are different regarding movement. I and some girls on this thread felt ours late too due to our anterior placentas. Do you have a posterior/anterior placenta? Also with first babies they say it takes long to feel movement x

N1985T · 12/05/2021 21:53

@Whatshouldbemyusername I have no idea 😧 they haven’t ever said! I feel clueless about everything!! It is my first, still struggling with bad nausea and awful body and face acne so been feeling a bit low. Feel like such a moaner so just been keeping everything to myself .. my sister said speaking to people in here really helped her !

Ready2020 · 12/05/2021 22:08

My sister recommended I get the strep b test nearer my due date. I think it'll cost about £40.
