Hi All! Hope you don't mind me joining 😊

Everything going right (fingers crossed) I will become a mom in mid December. 7w5d today, but I won't be seeing my midwife for the first time until 13+2, and no signs of an appointment for the dating scan yet, which was quite shocking. So I have booked a private scan from next Saturday just for peace of mind, and if everything is OK we will book for a Nipt.

Hope you are all doing good and very pleased to meet you 😊

TakeYourFinalPosition · 02/05/2021 16:43

@DarceyCat Oh that’s rough, I hope they can get a result to you soon... I’ve been thinking of you. I didn’t have a repeat test, so no real advice.

@CTR1000 I’m glad all is looking well! I’m with you on never knowing how stressful these early days are.

@Lostintranslatio Welcome! I think it works differently in different places, but I won’t meet my midwife until 16w - I had bloods at 6+4 from the clinic, and I have a booking in phone call at 9w, but my scan date should just come through the post, apparently. Might be worth chasing up to see if you’ve been booked for it!

Lostintranslatio · 02/05/2021 16:53

@TakeYourFinalPosition thank you. I feel a bit lost because I'm from another country and the system seems to be so different from what I've seen in my friend's pregnancies. I registered at the hospital as my GP told me and they sent the appointment for the midwife visit, and that's all.
Anyway I can't wait for the scan next week. Days go by soooooo slow 😂

DarceyCat · 02/05/2021 17:56

So my second hCG was 4460 so it's gone up by ~67% in 48 hours. They're bringing me back in tomorrow for another scan. I still think it might be too small to see anything but hopefully they'll find something 🤞

Lostintranslatio · 02/05/2021 17:59

Fingers crossed for you @DarceyCat 🤞

Cumspe · 02/05/2021 18:14

@Hxoxox not to give false hope but when I went in for an early scan LMP at 6 weeks the dr just about detected the sac but no yolk and I was asked to go back at 6+3 days. A yolk was detected and after a long scan and the consultant getting involved they spotted a twin. Anything is possible but we always prepare ourselves for the worst to protect ourselves.

2 weeks is a long wait I hope it goes quickly for all of you that are waiting for scans or results.

@DarceyCat keeping all crossed for you.

For those that mentioned it I am also feeling cold 🥶 in the day and then having night sweats 😓. Also mild morning sickness seems to be creeping in on occasion so feeling a little sorry for myself though I know I should be grateful.

Welcome to all the new joiners.

flowersatthecastle · 02/05/2021 19:14

Does anyone else look at their child(ren) and think what on earth will I do with ANOTHER?! Toddler has a tantrum, what would I do with a newborn as well right now? Toddler runs away in the park, what would I do with a newborn as well right now? I know newborns sleep a lot but they're also quite demanding Confused

MushroomQueen · 02/05/2021 19:32

@flowersatthecastle yes, I've been there with the toddler and newborn (they are 7 and almost 5 now. My oldest was a runner, I never went anywhere that I didn't have back up or was enclosed or I could easily run and get. Mine are older now so less worry about running away more fear of going back to colic years

Scarletpig1 · 02/05/2021 19:34

@flowersatthecastle yes I do wonder how but i just try not to think about it too much. Other people make it work so I guess it's possible 🤞I'm hoping my 2 year old will be having less tantrums by the time the baby arrives 😂

Em39ma · 02/05/2021 19:40

I was a nanny for 24 years before having my DD now 19 months.
I wonder why I did this at all, then I remind myself I use to have 6 ranging from newborn to 12, I must be able to cope with 2.

BrodieKD · 02/05/2021 19:57

Scan went well today and they've put me at 7+4 instead of 8 weeks. We saw a lovely heart beat and everything looks perfect for now. I'd recommend anyone to go to window to the womb, the whole experience was really special. I'm exhausted after such an emotional day - I've got fresh sheets and my jammies over the radiator. Can't wait for bedtime 😊

How's everyone else doing?

Horehound · 02/05/2021 20:38

Aw that's lovely @BrodieKD! Fresh sheets...nothing better!

Yesterday I had a horrendous day of feeling sick constantly. Today it's been the opposite..weird! Feel very tired now though so I'll go to bed soon.

I too am worried what it's going to be like with toddler and newborn although 5 days he will be in childcare so maybe it won't be too bad.

@DarceyCat well the increase sounds encouraging! How many weeks are you now?

Welcome to the newbies x

Is it normal to have mild cramping pain mostly on the one side? I know a bit of cramping is normal in early pregnancy (I had it with DS) but this seems to be concentrated in the one spot. It’s mild and I’ve not had any bleeding, but I’ve put the fear into myself reading about ectopic pregnancies. I’m only 5+2 so far too early for a scan.

Sparklestars86 · 02/05/2021 20:44

@BrodieKD lovely news! 💕

Have anyone else's boobs grown dramatically already? They've been tender since the beginning but I'm worried how big they're going to end up if they keep growing at anywhere near this rate! Xx

Mumofboys20122017 · 02/05/2021 21:03

@tuxedocat hope you got sorted today and are feeling OK ❤

@TreeRoad good luck with the scan tomorrow! ❤

@DarceyCat that's great news! Glad the numbers went up! Hope you see a wee something on tomorrow's scan ❤

@BrodieKD aww how lovely the scan went well 😊 fresh sheets and pjs sounds amazing right now 😍

I have been exhausted all day! And just wanting to cry at everything that's annoyed me! Haha one minute feel like I wanna eat the entire contents of the fridge and the next minute the thought of any food is turning me! And agree with everyone that's feeling cold! 🥶

tuxedocat · 02/05/2021 22:09

@Mumofboys20122017 thanks lovely for checking in 💕 I actually just got back from the OOH GP who thinks I’ve got a UTI from my Urine sample. Got a prescription to get tomorrow and hopefully I’ll be feeling better in a day or so. Deffo been panicking so feeling a smidge better for a sec

tuxedocat · 02/05/2021 22:12

@CoffeeWithMyOxygen if it continues and it’s a stabbing pain, I would call your GP just be sure. Cramping is normal but I understand ectopic is stabbing and in one place. I put the fear of god into myself the last few days, but the GP I saw said she hasn’t seen one as early as I am (6+0) because the baby is too small to make any damage so she can’t rule it out because she hasn’t scanned me BUT that you would certainly know about it. I’ve read many conflicting things about what she said but she did put me at ease for a sec.
Hope that helps x

Mumofboys20122017 · 02/05/2021 22:44

@tuxedocat oh that's great! Well not great about the UTI but good you got some answers! Fingers crossed the medicine helps and you feel better soon ❤

I’m sure it’s nothing but I think it’s worth getting it checked. Even if it’s too early to detect they can monitor it with quantitative bHCG. If it’s doubling every 2 days then you should be alright. I had a ruptured ectopic a month ago and what I wouldn’t give to have caught it early.
Kinsters · 03/05/2021 00:28

CoffeeWithMyOxygen you can have a scan at 5 weeks and they should be able to detect the pregnancy location. Whether the NHS would do that or not I'm not sure. My experience of a super early scan was that I had a scan at 5 weeks exactly last pregnancy because I had heavy bleeding and the sac was clearly visible. Couldn't see a baby or anything but it was good to confirm it wasn't ectopic.

I am 6+4 today and still haven't had any bleeding which is weird for me but I'm very happy about it! Appointment next Tuesday to get more progesterone and I'll ask for a scan at the same time.

Kinsters · 03/05/2021 01:57

Re wrangling a newborn and toddler I'm planning to have the newborn in a sling. We don't live near family so I've no help and my toddler loves to do stupid things like try and run down the slide when I'm not looking. Definitely need to keep both hands free!

AnonymousXXIX · 03/05/2021 07:14

Morning! I've heard of morning evening and afternoon sickness. .. but what about night sickness? Twice now I've been woken up in the middle of the night by a huge wave of nausea. If I lay still for 10 mins it goes away and I can go back to sleep. So strange.

Em39ma · 03/05/2021 07:25

@AnonymousXXIX I have 24 hr sickness. I got 3 times last night to be sick. Having to give in and take my tablets. Will start today and then give GP a call tomorrow and tell them about it.

Velvetscrunchy · 03/05/2021 08:14

6w6d today and have my first scan booked.
Did some bloods last week (6+1) that came just under 22000 but I know this doesn’t mean it can’t be a blighted ovum.
Absolutely bricking it.

Minster2012 · 03/05/2021 09:38

Morning ladies sorry been quiet been a tough couple of days, @CoffeeWithMyOxygen I was in a&e on Saturday night after quite a bit of bleeding and stabbing pains on my left side. I've always had cramping and sometimes left sided pains. By LMP I was 6 +5, based on my ovulation knowledge I put myself at 6 weeks. I had a TV scan & they found a sac consistent with pregnancy of 4/5 weeks not 6. My hcg was over 5400 so consistent at a variety of levels & they found a Subchorionic Haematoma and also bruising on my left ovary which is where she said I ovulated from and the bruising on the left ovary was likely what caused the left side pain...so yours might be that, where you ovulated from. I'm really worried obviously about the blood clot, I've been told to rest & no sex til it's gone which is maybe by 20 weeks, and another scan in 10 days. But confirmed not ectopic.

I'm trying to focus on the positive of maybe my dates are wrong & things so small it's so hard not to worry about the measurements being behind let alone the clot. Gonna be a tough 10 days but long as it's grown in that time 🤞🏻😬
