Hey Smile

So I’m probably one of the First Ladies on here to be due in 2022! My due date is Jan 1st 2022 - New Year’s Day.

I am actually not due on AF until this Thursday coming but have had strong positives for the last 2 days so keeping everything crossed!

Is there any other 2022 mums yet?

@Bladette84

I’ve just had a bleed which has terrified me. It seems to have stopped now and not had any pain. Spoken to the out of hours IVF nurse and she’s going to try and get me in for a scan tomorrow morning. My anxiety is through the roof now.
Good luck today. A little bit of bleeding is usually fine so hopefully you get a scan and it's all okay. Let us know how it goes?
Bladette84 · 27/05/2021 08:37

I’ve woken up this morning to another, much heavier bleed. They can’t scan me until this afternoon. I’m so scared right now.

Emc16x · 27/05/2021 08:43

@Bladette84 thinking of you! Hope your morning is as relaxed as possible before your scan. My best friend had a heavy bleed (she described it as a tap was turned on) and now has a healthy 7 week old. Try to remain positive xxx

Emc16x · 27/05/2021 08:51

@hollypurple @HforHavana was reading your comments the other day regarding symptoms disappearing! Yesterday morning I felt amazing, boobs didn’t hurt, didn’t feel sick...started worrying. Half way to work had to turn around as I was sick on my drive in! Was bed ridden all day. All symptoms back with a vengeance today!

Does sickness subside after 12 weeks?! I can’t take it much longer ha xx

hollypurple · 27/05/2021 08:55

@Emc16x i've felt awful the last two days after waking up feeling a bit more energised yesterday.

Delight of delights I got woken up by sharp pain this morning which initially terrified me until I realised it was in fact it was trapped wind - another symptom to add to the list. It seems to have eased now but having been up for hours I'm dreading work. At least I can work from home at the moment.

gigchic · 27/05/2021 10:57

@IDontDrinkTea hilarious. Totally his own fault. 😂.

Missmonkeypenny · 27/05/2021 11:26

Morning all!

Had a scan today as I don't have a last period to go off of ( breastfeeding my 17 month old haven't had one in over 2 years) and saw a little blob with a heartbeat! Due 18th Jan Smile

@Missmonkeypenny congratulations! So exciting to have the scan and a date!

MrsFLongbottom · 27/05/2021 13:49

@Bladette84 I hope the scan goes well this afternoon and all is ok, it is really scary when you don’t know what’s going on.

I had a pretty heavy bleed (red then later brown) when I was about 7/8 weeks with my first, and in total it lasted around 10 days. All did turn out to be fine, but it was awful at the time (I couldn’t get a scan unfortunately!) and they didn’t ever work out what it was. Xx

Bladette84 · 27/05/2021 14:28

Thank you for all your support. I’ve just got back from the scan and all is fine- it’s a haematoma that caused the bleed. I might get some more bleeding, I might not. I saw our little bean’s heartbeat fluttering away and I cried so much!
IVF unit have booked in another scan with them next week for reassurance before they discharge me.

HforHavana · 27/05/2021 14:33

A bit random and not sure if off topic but, about 18 months ago I found a lump on my breast, had it all checked and it came back all fine and was something called fibroadenoma. I had the option to get it removed but chose not to as it didn't affect me at all and hasn't since until now.

Fast forward to now and I am getting shooting pains in the site of this lump. It's quite a sharp pain and completely different to the dull ache I have anyway. I have my booking in app on Tuesday, shall I wait till then to mention to the midwife, or do you think I am best seeking help now?

BunBunMum · 27/05/2021 14:47

@Bladette84 So glad everything seems ok!

Seems to be the day for scans as I had an early one today too. Baby measured 7+6 which exactly matches my dates and saw a good heartbeat. I won’t relax but at least things are all ok so far!

hollypurple · 27/05/2021 15:29

@HforHavana perhaps make a GP appointment if you can.

I'm getting all kinds of aches and pains in my boobs at the moment so it may just be that because the tissue there is different it is reacting to all the changes differently but there is no harm getting it checked out.

Funny you say that, I've got an appointment at the breast clinic next week and have a history of fibroadenomas!

I had a huge subchorionic hematoma with my son who was also IVF. I bled daily from.16-28 weeks!

Hes 17 months and snuggled up on my lap now Smile

Bladette84 · 27/05/2021 19:18

@Missmonkeypenny that’s so encouraging to hear! It seems they can be quite prevalent with IVF pregnancies, I’m not sure I’ll ever feel relaxed if the next few weeks!

This is great. So pleased for you.
Monkeyandthebear · 27/05/2021 20:10

I had my booking appointment today. Ended up being an hour on the phone followed by 30 minutes in person. I was a bit disappointed as I have been thinking a lot about a home birth and because I lost quite a bit of blood with my last delivery the midwife says I need to be assessed to determine if I am too risky. She said it would be safest to be on delivery suite. A consultant will read over my notes after my 12 week scan and see what they think.

Reading up on it bleeding is more likely with induction (which it was) and other interventions (I had forceps) so I am hoping that was part of the reason.

marnh18 · 27/05/2021 20:34

Ive also had my scan today and also saw a little heartbeat flickering away! Was amazing! Such a relief. Measuring way behind though so my due dates changed from 9th jan to the 17th jan.
So glad to hear about all you other ladies that have also had some good news today!

gigchic · 27/05/2021 20:57

@Monkeyandthebear hopefully they will say it'll be ok then as it sounds like the bleeding wouldn't reoccur if the birth isn't induced this time. I love the idea of a home birth but as this is my first and we live 45 minutes along winding roads from the hospital I don't fancy a last minute dash to hospital with complications so think I'm going to ask for water birth in hospital. I still find it odd even thinking about it though 😂😬.

Babynum2 · 28/05/2021 00:02

Really suffering today with the sickness iv had to take the day off work and haven't moved from the bed luckily OH is off work today because feeling like this with 2 kids is not easy I really hope it goes away soon! Has anyone found a secret to help them through it yet please share???

Ruthsoph · 28/05/2021 04:46

@Babynum2 sorry to hear this - for me ginger nut biscuit helped in the past and mint polos - how far gone are you? Xx

willithappen · 28/05/2021 06:07

Yesterday was the day for scans!
I went for a private one after my ivf clinic one at 7 weeks put my date at 6+1. Pure panic sat in

Happy to say I measured exactly 8 weeks today so exactly on time :)

marnh18 · 28/05/2021 08:11

@willithappen well this was like me i had a scan at what should have been 5+5 and measured 5+1 and then scanned yesterday at what should have been 7+4 but measured 6+3 so its weird how i'm measuring even more days behind which is frustrating but i wonder if i will measure more closer to my original due date (from my calculations) once I'm further along?!

gigchic · 28/05/2021 08:36

@marnh18 when I saw people weren't measuring right and it caused panic I cancelled my private scan! I think the nhs leave it until 12 weeks to date for a reason so I decided to wait out that scan. I have no reason to get an early scan other than curiosity so I cancelled. I think the closer you get to 12 weeks the more accurate it is.

Nice to hear everyone's happy stories of their scans though so far. Hope people have a sickness free day today!
