Hey Smile

So I’m probably one of the First Ladies on here to be due in 2022! My due date is Jan 1st 2022 - New Year’s Day.

I am actually not due on AF until this Thursday coming but have had strong positives for the last 2 days so keeping everything crossed!

Is there any other 2022 mums yet?

@BunBunMum

Hope the scan went well *@Babynum2*. I’ve got an early scan booked on Thursday & I’m so nervous....almost as nervous as I am about telling my boss that I’m pregnant again 😬

I was meant to have my covid vaccine today but got talked out of it by the GP on duty as he wanted me to speak to my midwife at my booking appointment and/or wait until I’m over 12 weeks as I’m low risk otherwise...but disappointing and I now need to lie to some people pretending that I’ve had it 😬😩

@BunBunMum: Hmmm that GP was naughty - he shouldn't have talked you out of it if you'd pretty much made your decision. The JCVI and RCOG guidance for doctors is to support women in having the vaccine. Previously they said only high risk groups but now it's all women. It's absolutely your choice and you need to balance up the pros/cons, but healthcare professionals shouldn't be talking you out of it.

The latest advice is here if you want to read it: www.rcog.org.uk/en/guidelines-research-services/coronavirus-covid-19-pregnancy-and-womens-health/covid-19-vaccines-and-pregnancy/covid-19-vaccines-pregnancy-and-breastfeeding/

BunBunMum · 24/05/2021 14:56

Thanks @L1ttleb1t
I know and he said it was my decision but it was the sharp intake of breath when I said I was just over 7 weeks and the questioning of whether I had spoken to my midwife etc (I haven’t but I spoke to my Gp last week who seemed to support me) and how waiting until after 12 weeks was best probably best for low risk people. I have a history of miscarriage so it was enough to spook me. I will speak to the midwife and my booking appointment and hopefully reschedule my jab for just after my 12 week scan....

Has anyone constant nausea?
Can't manage normal food the last 3 days, sipping at water & sprite throughout the day but concerned I'm not getting enough fluids in. Today I've nibbled on 2crackers with butter & cheese then a cheese bap spread out since 8 am. Dread to think what I'm going to eat for dinner
Any tips? Got the acupuncture bands yday thought they helped but not today.

Missingcoffee22 · 24/05/2021 15:22

@LilmissCa my nausea has been its worst today. I've been eating little bits constantly - half a bagel, a small bag of plain crisps, then a wrap for lunch. But nothing is actually getting rid of it today, whereas normally some carbs really help... Been gagging and gassy all day, so gross. Also sipping on really cold water but struggling with it massively. Even gone off flavoured water. Definitely dehydrated now. But don't know what to do 😭

I've had constant nausea for the past 2 weeks and getting worse. I'm 8 weeks today and feel terrible. I've been actually being sick on a morning. Then I think fruit and yoghurt will make me feel better, it does for about half an hour then the sickness comes back. Then I end up wanting toast in the afternoon. I feel constantly sick but also feel like I'm eating more than usual because I'm trying to have something that makes me feel better. Ahhhhhh. Anyway, just bought a big box of ice pops......let's see how they go haha
L1ttleb1t · 24/05/2021 15:35

@BunBunMum It's an abundance of caution approach which seems sensible it's just... don't we get this a lot when you're pregnant? Healthcare professionals suddenly being reticent about making recommendations for any kind of treatment, even if it's something straightforward that is recommended and guided by our professionals bodies to do so. I've worked in the NHS for 20 years and it's been really striking in both my pregnancies.

Sorry - just musing. Fingers crossed for you and I'm sure waiting until 12 weeks will be fine :)

LilmissCa · 24/05/2021 15:46

@Missingcoffee22 totally feel you.. i don't know how far you let dehydration go! I'm definitely getting progressively worst each day, being on online meetings all day is not helping!
My go to Salt & vinegar crisps & nuts aren't an option today, currently sucking the nut & then spitting it out lol

LilmissCa · 24/05/2021 15:50

@GummyBear2022 Hopefully your at the stage where it starts easing! I'm struggling at the thought of this lasting weeks. Definitely wasn't like this with my DS but hes 5 1/2 now so I'm a good bit older... blaming that!

This is my first so I had no idea what to expect really. Just glad, from reading these posts, that it's normal!

KAJWX · 24/05/2021 17:26

Feeling for everyone feeling and being sick. I’ve been terrible too the last couple of weeks. I’m off everything and literally gagging at all hot drinks and dinners. I’m also worried about dehydration, fizzy drinks were helping but not anymore. I did have my early scan on Saturday and everything was good so far so I’m trying not to complain and taking all the sickness as a good sign ❤️

baxybaxy · 24/05/2021 17:34

Hi! Hope its OK to join in this thread Smile.

I recently found out I am pregnant - due date is mid January 2022 (today I am 6+3). This is my third pregnancy however in the past 18 months I have had 2 miscarriages - the first at 5-6 weeks and the second at 9ish weeks so I guess I am slightly anxious.

I contacted my doctors surgery last week and filled in the paperwork to book in to see the midwife (I also added info about my miscarriage history) however they contacted me today and said the soonest I could get an appointment is 22nd June - I will (hopefully) be 11 weeks pregnant then. I feel like I should be seeing someone sooner - do you have any advice??

LilmissCa · 24/05/2021 17:56

@KAJWX great your scan went well.. I'm counting down to mines next Wednesday giving myself motivation through the sickness! Thanks for the reminder that it is a good sign!!

Welcome @baxybaxy, congratulations & sorry to hear about your losses. I think 11 wks is standard with a lot of midwives unless you have bleeding/ cramping it is a long wait! The only other option is to book a private scan. I've one booked for next week I'll be 7wk6d

BunBunMum · 24/05/2021 18:00

Hi @baxybaxy - our midwives don’t see anyone until 10-11 weeks so think that’s standard here too. I’ve had miscarriages at 6 and 8 weeks and it makes each subsequent pregnancy really hard (I have had successful pregnancies following each miscarriage though. I have a private scan booked for 7+6 as I get myself so anxious x

Babynum2 · 24/05/2021 19:10

With the sickness I find it's different with different pregnancies. I only had it until about 11weeks with baby1 but baby2 all the way until I gave birth I lost so much weight and was admitted to hospital due to dehydration so trying to keep your liquid intake up is vital (even though I no it all tastes yuk) I drunk lemonade, fizz water and lots of ice to try keep myself hydrated! I hope it passes soon and doesn't end up like baby2

nellieee · 24/05/2021 19:48

Hello all. Can I join you please? Got my bfp(s!) last week following a miscarriage. I'm 4+3, so might just make January (although I have a feeling I will be late...). First baba for us. Really hoping this little seed sticks around for the long run.

There are a few of these Jan 2022 groups going, and it seems I have joined them all! 🙈 if there's a fb group already, please can someone send me the link? Thank you!! 🙃 look forward to chatting!!

Mama2be2022 · 24/05/2021 22:19

Had a phone all from my midwife today. Booking appointment is booked for 8th July. Seems so far away! I'm sure it will fly over but feels like forever. Bit disappointed my partner can't be there but looking online it seems he won't be missing much at the first appointment. Just crossing fingers everything is alright!

HforHavana · 25/05/2021 03:40

Girls Iv woken up at this time and Iv noticed my boobs are literally not sore at all.
Iv had really sore tender breasts from day one and waking in the middle of the night to them just disappeared has really worried me. Supposed to be 8 weeks today. Is this normal?

DaisyDoo2222 · 25/05/2021 07:05

My partner and I are currently renting a 2 bed, 2 bathroom house with a big garden and have been saving to buy our first house. It's taking us a little longer than usual with furlough and the fact we pay out a lot on rent per month also but we were doing well and now I'm pregnant I'm conscious of the fact we won't be able to buy until after I'm back off MAT leave meaning we will have 2 children in a 2 bed. I know baby won't go in their own room until 6 months at the earliest but I'm anxious that if we can't move straight away they may need to share! Does anyone have any good experiences of 2 children in a 2 bed please? Smile

Missingcoffee22 · 25/05/2021 07:31

@DaisyDoo2222 I don't yet but we are going to have 2 sharing a pretty small room until we can move house which isn't likely to be for a couple of years... and even then they may still share, depending on what we can afford.
Lots of my other mn group had 2 in a room successfully though.. including until as old as 10 😊

Nashsophie13 · 25/05/2021 09:14

Hey all how are we all doing? Haven’t been on here for a while I’ve been really anxious lately as I still don’t really have many symptoms at all, my boobs don’t hurt as much but still uncomfortable at night, and have waves of nausea sometimes. I think I’m over thinking because of the MMC last year I just can’t help it. I’m 9 weeks now and that’s when it went wrong for me last time so finding it abit hard. Addicted to doing home tests which is stupid really isn’t it. Trying to ride out these next 4 weeks before we have our official scan but tempted to get a private one x

penny92 · 25/05/2021 09:37

I'm 8 weeks 3 days now and the nausea has been reaaaally bad. I'm trying ginger biscuits, peppermint bonbons from Myrtle and Maude, crackers, eating little and often, 7up. It seems to clear for like 45 minutes after eating and then comes back.

Tiredness isn't quite as bad as it was at 6-7 weeks which I am pleased about. But my smell has really heightened and urgh, that is not fun.

I accidentally posted an update to the other January thread, but basically on Friday we went for a follow up scan with the EPU. (To recap, the first we went at 5+6 and there were 3 gestational sacs with yolks, one with embryo and HB).

On Friday it was confirmed that the 3 are now 2, and so we have twins with heartbeats rather than triplets. The third sac never developed an embryo so I believe that one was a blighted ovum.

I feel so guilty saying it, so please don't judge, but I can't say I'm not a bit relieved that it isn't triplets as I would have really struggled physically, mentally and financially. Two feels a tad more manageable.

BunBunMum · 25/05/2021 09:53

Don’t feel bad @penny92 - I’m scared of twins as I’ve got 2 already and would mean no chance I could work etc as childcare would be too expensive etc. I’m feeling so much worse this pregnancy than I was with the others so I am concerned there could be more than one! I know we’d cope etc but it would be an adjustment to get my head around!

LilmissCa · 25/05/2021 10:37

@penny92 do not feel bad!! Twins is a lot to take in never mind triplets. The thought of twins freaks me out.

I've been to the docs this morning, ketones in urine is 3, if 4 she would of sent me to hospital. Got anti sickness tabs & instructions to get fluid into me or tomo I could need the drip. Don't know how I'm going to get 6 or more glasses of water in me.. been managing 1 the last 2/3 days. Rung in sick to work so resting up at least as I've no energy at all with not eating

penny92 · 25/05/2021 11:46

Can you manage squash @LilmissCa ? Thats the only way I can get water down me at the moment.

Yeah, ordinarily twins would have scared me but when you've had 2 weeks thinking you would have triplets... 2 is a relief!

@BunBunMum - four would be A LOT!

Babynum2 · 25/05/2021 13:37

@DaisyDoo2222
I have 2 kids girl 7 boy 2 in a bunkbeds they love it this will be baby 3 so I will have to move once he/she is born and we will only move to a 3 bed so still have 2 kids sharing and let our oldest have their own room.
