@Fishingforhappiness sorry to read you’ve been in and out again! I have no tips for bringing on labour but if you’re induced drink as much water as you can and walk around/ use the ball as much as you can and things will hopefully move quicker 🤞🏼🤞🏼.

Nesski · 23/05/2021 23:16

@Fishingforhappiness any chance you can get a few sweeps booked in with your MW?

Sweetmad · 23/05/2021 23:38

@Penny2020 congratulations! Get some well deserved rest xxx

TerryRose · 24/05/2021 10:34

@Fishingforhappiness best of luck with it all, sounds like you are doing all you can , my midwife told me "sex, sex , sex ,sex, it's how it started this all, it can help end it " 🤣🤣🤣

Is anyone else expressing prior to birth ? I don't even know where to get syringes etc and the logistics of freezing it and bringing to the hospital just seems so overwhelming but then worried I'll regret it if I don't try 🙈

Mackie2020 · 24/05/2021 10:58

@TerryRose My midwife gave my syringes at my 38 week appointment but I haven't attempted it yet. She told me to keep it in the freezer at home and not take it to the hospital. If you do and it's not needed, it may be wasted because the hospital can't keep it frozen. If you do need it, she said DH could go home to collect it and bring it in. That makes sense to me.

Mackie2020 · 24/05/2021 10:58

Congratulations @Penny2020 !

pookypup · 24/05/2021 11:10

@Penny2020 well done and congratulations. I hope you are both getting in ok

TerryRose · 24/05/2021 11:32

@Mackie2020 that makes so much sense , with everything going on in the hospitals at the moment with covid and everything I was wondering how it would work storing it there , thanks so much . I'll give it a try but won't beat myself up if it doesn't work . My midwives haven't mentioned it at all, just stumbled across it myself .

TerryRose · 24/05/2021 21:03

Anyone else not been told anything about measurements?
I'm 37 weeks and it's never been mentioned to me but always seeing other people being told of the baby is measuring at 7 pounds etc

Mackie2020 · 24/05/2021 21:11

@TerryRose my midwife has been doing fundal height measurements since 28 weeks (I think) and I had a growth scan at 36 weeks. It was only at the scan that I got told estimated weight, and I only had the scan because it looked like growth was trailing off. If I hadn't have had the scan, I wouldn't have been told anything about estimated weight.

AlRRRR · 24/05/2021 21:14

@TerryRose I don’t think you’d be told or find out unless you were sent for extra scans etc. I was sent this week as a different MW measured me and it made the growth chart X deviate from ‘normal’ measurement pattern. So from this they measured it and they said she’s weighing 5lb 4 ish. If this hadn’t happened, I’d have no idea :)

Sitchervice · 24/05/2021 21:27

@TerryRose they don't really tell because it's a little bit of an estimate. They told me today during a growth scan because I asked and told them my family are having a bet on how much he'll weigh. She found it really funny. I'm 36+3 and he's roughly 6.08. He's way past some guesses already 🤣

Suite88 · 24/05/2021 21:53

@TerryRose my midwife didn't say anything about measurements until I asked her how big the baby was likely to be (my GP had commented that my bump looked big and I was worried baby was going to be huge). She looked at the chart that they have been plotting the fundal height measurements on and then said that if baby continued to follow the same curve they would be around 8 pounds when they are born.

BlondePotter · 25/05/2021 08:44

Has anyone lost their mucus plug yet? I had some come away Saturday, sunday and then yesterday when I wiped, a big blob flew onto the floor 🤣
The internet says it can still be weeks until labour though 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm 38+2

AlRRRR · 25/05/2021 09:00

@BlondePotter With my 1st, it was few days before and my cousin recently was 1.5 weeks before, she lost it at 36 weeks and she gave birth at 38. It means your body is preparing ❤️❤️

Humpty11 · 25/05/2021 09:10

@BlondePotter absolutely nothing at all so far, I think there will be mixed responses about timings, maybe as you’re 38+2 it might mean it’s the start of something! 🤞🏼🤞🏼. Have you had any other signs?

Mackie2020 · 25/05/2021 09:38

I'm 39 weeks today and no mucus plug for me yet. I don't feel any signs of approaching labour at all, except perhaps a few more Braxton hicks. I really want to make it to the weekend before baby's appearance if I can!!

Santatizer · 25/05/2021 10:20

My little girl arrived at 35+2 and is now 13 days old but really only 37+1! Due date was 14 June. She has not needed any SCBU, which was a huge relief, just some phototherapy for jaundice and some precautionary IV antibiotics, and is doing really well.

AlRRRR · 25/05/2021 12:21

@Santatizer oh wow! Congrats!! :)

Sweetmad · 25/05/2021 12:38

@Santatizer congratulations! Glad to hear she’s doing well x

TerryRose · 25/05/2021 13:02

@Suite88 @Sitchervice @AlRRRR thanks for the input! I was feeling a bit silly thinking should I know all these measurements etc! 😊

Officially 37 weeks today, absolutely no sign of labour at all

AlRRRR · 25/05/2021 13:06

@TerryRose I had nothing till labour started at 40 weeks dead on with last!

swiftt · 25/05/2021 13:22

37+5 here. Had a growth scan yesterday and sonographer commented on how low baby’s head was, and that it shouldn’t be long. I’ve had zero labour symptoms! No sign of plug, no braxton hicks, just a whole lot of pressure when I walk. I was speaking to my mum last night and she said I was a day late and she had no symptoms til contractions started, and the same when she had my sister. Don’t want to get my hopes up but I just really hope baby arrives on time, I’m so fed up! And I just want to see a sign of something happening. 😂

BlondePotter · 25/05/2021 13:47

Am I alone in wanting baby to be late? I just don't feel ready to learn how to look after a baby 🙈 so the longer it stays in there, the longer I can delay the sleep deprivation and the not knowing what I'm doing?

BethannieW · 25/05/2021 13:50

@BlondePotter. I’m on my third (v nearly 39 weeks) and never noticed a mucus plug go with any of mine!

@Santatizer Congratulations on your slightly early arrival. :). She sounds gorgeous. Looking forward to some more announcements soon!

Anyway, thought I’d say hi to everyone. Beginning to bore all my family with TMI pregnancy and birth chat - but so far along now, it’s all I can think about! So I’ll bore some people who can relate! 😂
