@Penny2020 how exciting!! I hope things start before you have to go in later! Good luck and we can’t wait for the announcement!

TerryRose · 21/05/2021 10:23

@PinkPlantCase no I'm able to work from home and I live in the countryside but my OH is a mechanic and even though tries to avoid interaction it's not always possible and there has been a bad outbreak of cases in our two local towns and we know someone who got it last week so that just made me uneasy!

MimiDaisy11 · 21/05/2021 10:24

@Penny2020 Good luck! Hope things go well :)

Sweetmad · 21/05/2021 13:21

Hi, Is anyone experiencing vomiting? I’m eating around 5/6pm and go to bed around 10 pm ish and I’m being woken up in a hot, panic and then vomiting, it’s happened twice now and feels awful! I think I did have a burning feeling before just been sick now but my gosh, I wasn’t even this sick in 1st tri or with first baby until labour started!

35 weeks + 2 days ☺️

Humpty11 · 22/05/2021 07:26

@AIRRRR I’ve just randomly been sick this morning but I had a terrible night with indigestion so think it was probably because of that (and maybe the amount of gaviscon I drank in the night). Do you feel better once you’ve been sick? Hopefully it’s just indigestion for you too and not things starting 😬🤞🏼

AnxiousAnnie86 · 22/05/2021 07:53

@AlRRRR it sounds like indigestion or heartburn I've started with it so badly now! Old wives tale is that it means that baby will have hair! Don't know how true that is 😂😂

AlRRRR · 22/05/2021 07:58

@Humpty11 and @AnxiousAnnie86

It could be ingestion but I’m making sure to leave a 4-6 hour gap after waiting my dinner before going to bed and I’m going to sleep fine (bar the pubic pain) and waking in a right panic and then being sick...

I am getting loads of period pains / BH and it’s my 2nd baby, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s born in the next 2 weeks around 2 am 🤣🤣🤣

Hrm.... strange one

AlRRRR · 22/05/2021 08:01

And, I’ve got loadssssss of pressure down there and cervix pains 🤣🤣🤣🤣

How are you guys doing? :)

Sitchervice · 22/05/2021 08:18

I'm in alot of pain. Back legs feels like growing pains, pelvis, cervix, top of bump. 🤣 Hugging hot water bottles and scoffing paracetamol.

PurpleishDahlia · 22/05/2021 09:03

@airrrr hope you feel better! I have constant pubic pain too, used to have period pains between 31-32 weeks but they said it was a uterus irritation due to thrush - it stopped after treatment. Oh no, don't say she'll be born in the next 2 weeks, we have the same due date and I'm not ready! hahah

I went to triage yesterday for lack of movement, everything seems fine and I felt like the boy who cried wolf. But they encouraged me to bother them as much as I want.

Still no vaccine appointment for me, my husband just got his letter (he's 44). We're in Scotland so I think a bit behind.

Very excited for the new baby of this thread, waiting for the happy announcement :)

My maternity allowance got approved which was a big relief (I'm self employed).
Do you ladies have checklists? I've started cooking double portions and stocking the freezer.
We need to figure out how to use the car seat. Is it really as complicated as people say? We've been putting it off for weeks.

AlRRRR · 22/05/2021 09:20

@PurpleishDahlia This is my 2nd so I’m ready for it 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Don’t need to prepare mentally as I know what’s coming but I can remember with my first, I was like ‘oh gosh, what’s happening’ 😂😂.

I don’t do any batch cooking or anything, neither with the first, I found I had loads of time as babies sleep a lot in first few weeks and I just strapped her to me, and made her sleep even more haha

This time, I live alone 4 days a week and have a 4 yr old but I still think it’ll be okay, but I’m not a prepare kind of person, I just see what happens in the next moment, so maybe if you do like to plan, maybe it will help to do some cooking etc haha

AlRRRR · 22/05/2021 09:26

@Sitchervice Pains and discomfort are awful in the last few weeks! Hopefully it’ll pass fast and you’ll have your pain free body back soon!

Sitchervice · 22/05/2021 09:32

@AlRRRR I just can't wait to meet him. I'm only 36w + 2d

AlRRRR · 22/05/2021 09:34

@Sitchervice Anything from now is likely to be fine! I have lots of friend whose babies were born at 36 weeks! The pain is awful
but it really does go after delivery, I had it from 38 weeks with 1st, and she came
on due date, and It just went :)

TerryRose · 22/05/2021 10:15

@Sitchervice I wouldn't worry at all about being 36 weeks , my midwife has given me lots of ways to help labour get started and I'm going to be 37 weeks on Tuesday . I haven't experienced any braxton hicks or anything , only trapped wind 🙈🙈🤣 I just have a feeling mine will be over the 40 weeks

Sitchervice · 22/05/2021 11:37

@AlRRRR @TerryRose Haha no sign of him coming yet. I think he'll be a lazy so likely to be induced before due date.

It's exciting though. I keep wanting to re-organise his clothing 🤣

Lovethatjourneyforme · 22/05/2021 13:00

@AIRRRR sounds like reflux. I had the same several times until I started on omeprazole, I'd eat hours before bed etc, go to bed fine and then suddenly wake up in the night, hyperventilating because I felt like I couldn't breathe because I'd had reflux in my sleep and presumably had started to inhale. Was never actually sick from it but came very close a few times and I know it can make you sick. Not pleasant!

Lovethatjourneyforme · 22/05/2021 13:02

@PurpleishDahlia our car seat is incredibly simple, it's been in and out of the car multiple times already. Sure it depends on what you've got but I can't imagine it being that complex!

AlRRRR · 22/05/2021 13:27

@Lovethatjourneyforme What other symptoms do you get with that?

I am generally feeling sick all day long now and turned off by pretty much all food, then the past 2 nights woken up panicked and then vomit as if I’m not digesting food after the last meal.. strange

teaformummy · 22/05/2021 13:36

Oh my gosh I relate to this sickness chat so much! i have terrible reflux at night, Gaviscon is pretty much my bff now. Been having pains/cramps for a while too, but during the day it's just a few tightenings here and there. 37 weeks tomorrow.

Its so exciting to hear there may be announcements on here soon 😬

AlRRRR · 22/05/2021 14:19

@teaformummy can you explain how reflux feels because other than feeling sick and waking in a panic to be sick, I don’t have anything else

teaformummy · 22/05/2021 14:26

@AlRRRR usually laying down i just get a heartburn kind of feeling in my chest and nose and then its like fluid travelling up your throat. It makes me cough/choke and sometimes im sick. Its not bad enough for me to want to ask for omeprazole or anti sickness tabs atm but I heard that helps some people a lot.

TerryRose · 22/05/2021 15:14

Reflux is so annoying ! No matter what I do can't prevent it so sleep with gaviscon near my bed 🤣

I've pain in my pelvis, kinda heavy feeling but that's the only symptom I have really , no cramps or anything .

AlRRRR · 22/05/2021 15:41

@teaformummy Ah I’ve had that maybe a few times but this is just all day sickness bahah
