@nelle my midwife recommended the Anibal as well, just finding it hard to buy one in Ireland but they are meant to be very good as you said just to get used to the pressure ! They are scary looking for sure haha I'm going to try the massage and maybe look into the ball again

Nesski · 20/05/2021 12:52

@teaformummy I heard spritz for bits works wonders, will probably assess once baby is out as all dependent on how he is delivered!

TerryRose · 20/05/2021 15:08

@teaformummy yup I've bought it but I think you've to check with midwives as they might not recommend it in certain types of stitches but I have it in my bag ready to go ! It's meant to be amazing

AlRRRR · 20/05/2021 15:42

I haven’t heard or used of these sprays etc but I did lavender baths after baby was born and they helped the healing process after stitches loads :) Did it twice a day x

BlondePotter · 20/05/2021 17:24

I guess the other thing with perineal massage/spritz for bits is you could do/buy all this and end up with a c section anyway 🙈

I've just googled the Aniball and no thanks 🤣🤣

@BlondePotter that’s exactly what happened to my friend recently, she did weeks of perineal prep and paid the money for the spritz for bits and ended up having to have a planned section because her baby was breech. She was so gutted.
I had an episiotomy last time because of a force delivery and had stitches but don’t remember any discomfort after, I just put some lavender in the baths that I had.

I tried to do some hand expressing to get some colostrum last night and managed to get a little bit but thought I was sending myself into labour because I was getting some serious tightenings so I stopped because I got scared that I might get things moving 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️.

Humpty11 · 20/05/2021 17:58

Forcep*

TerryRose · 20/05/2021 18:55

@BlondePotter @Humpty11 that's it exactly you have to be open to all scenarios really

BlondePotter · 20/05/2021 19:31

@Humpty11 🤣 I might try some after I wash my hair later, haven't tried collecting any yet as it doesn't feel like it would be worth it, just a few drops

I'm a little scared of having an episiotomy or tearing. I've heard stories where people get stitched wrong 😞

AlRRRR · 20/05/2021 19:49

@Sitchervice I had 7 stitches as I didn’t listen to the STOP order from MW 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’m honestly okay and lavendar baths were amazing ! This time, I will listen hahahaha I’m absolutely fine

Sitchervice · 20/05/2021 19:56

@AlRRRR you weren't scared of them stitching you wrong. Making you tighter down there exct?

Someone even mentioned somthing called the husbands knot or somthing. Where they purposely make you tighter!!

I hope they are just roumors built on nothing but a part of me is still like NO

AlRRRR · 20/05/2021 20:05

@Sitchervice omg no 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I heard of that in the 1960’s and 1970’s but not since! Mine was a cut in the inner labia, not around the opening or the perineum so It wouldn’t have affected it anyway hahah

But I’m sure they’d get sued if they even thought about doing that! It was to stop bleeding so I wasn’t afraid at all, it was down to an error on my part anyway, if I had stopped then her head would have come out slowly and it wouldn’t have happened, I have learnt for this time though!

Nellle · 20/05/2021 20:32

@blondepotter Yeah I definitely don't think it's for everyone. Making it pink doesn't make it look any less like a torture device 😅

I've also bought some Spritz for Bits. Again, who knows if I'm just throwing money down the drain.

Got my text to get my Covid jab today. I'll be 37+ weeks...

TerryRose · 20/05/2021 21:34

@nelle I had mine today , first dose, I'm 36 weeks 3 days, there was women in there who were 37 weeks also getting it .
I got Pfizer and took 1 panadol an hour after , no side effects so far , it was 12 o clock today , tired but could also be the fact I had to go to city and any outing these days makes me tired 🤣

pookypup · 20/05/2021 21:45

Had my jab today, at 37+2. All fine and feeling ok so far!

Rebe22a · 20/05/2021 21:51

@BlondePotter I did perineal massage last time and bought spritz for bitz and ended up with an emergency c section. However I think having done the massage it helped with the sweeps/checking how dilated I was and the spritz for bitz was really good on my c section scar, especially when it got to the itchy stage.

Nellle · 20/05/2021 22:22

Thanks for the jab updates. I really want it, so I'm glad it's become the norm to have it at this stage 🙂

PinkPlantCase · 20/05/2021 22:32

Are those of you that have had the jab recently in your 30s? Sorry being nosey!

pookypup · 21/05/2021 04:31

I’m 42 and couldn’t book when I got my letter (there was no route to book), so this was the earliest I could get in. Pleased to have had it, especially with this latest variant picking up.

Penny2020 · 21/05/2021 07:13

Morning ladies, an exciting and surprising evening here. My waters broke last night! Only 38 weeks so a complete surprise and went in to a bit of a panic attack at first. Hospital checked me over but back home now and no contractions yet! Managed to get some sleep which is good but booked in for an induction at 7pm tonight, so hoping I can get things kick started before then - wish me luck!!!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 21/05/2021 07:57

@Penny2020 eeee good luck!!! Xxxx

Suite88 · 21/05/2021 08:05
