@TerryRose I have only had two and have no others planned. I think they only do extras to check growth or if there are any problems, I only had two with my son too.

Nesski · 11/05/2021 20:22

@TerryRose I have had two extra growth scans one at 28 and another at 36 weeks purely because fibroid means fundal height measurement isn't accurate!

Lovethatjourneyforme · 11/05/2021 21:14

Two is the norm, only having two means they've got no concerns so a good thing really 😊
I've had 8 now, was on weekly scans for a while. Don't have any more though, happy that the next time I see the bubba it'll be in the flesh!

PinkPlantCase · 12/05/2021 07:46

I need to go for an extra scan because my fundal height crept over the 90th percentile. I’ve been tracking the line since they started measuring.

They don’t think baby is too big and I’ve tested clear for GD, the measurement has just triggered their policy. I half wish I hadn’t consented to the scan, I’d rather not know if baby is ‘large’ tbh.

My 20 week scan showed a very average size baby but with very long legs! My height is on the 97th percentile so it’d be a bit surprising of baby wasn’t long.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/05/2021 08:21

@PinkPlantCase is this on Midwife's measurements? As according to that I'm measuring 90th percentile, but growth scan has showed 10th! I asked midwife and she said it depends on where they measure from and she always measures high x

BlondePotter · 12/05/2021 08:56

@PinkPlantCase not too late to cancel the scan if you don't want it ☺️

I have a health visitor zoom meeting at 12, I'm 36 weeks. Any idea what they're going to be talking to me about? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hi guys, I saw my obstertrition today and another scan with her. She does her own checks. Mt Baby is doing great. However I have been told they won't let me go over 40 weeks so I will probably have to be induced! Feel weirdly excited by this... 🤔

Waitingforbabypage · 12/05/2021 10:34

I only had the 12 and 20 weeks scan with my first two, with this one I had one at 9 weeks (we didn't know dates) then the usual 12 and 20 weeks, I've also had growth scans every 4 weeks, I have one coming up on the 17th which is 37 weeks for me and then the next one is booked for my due date- I'm hoping by then I'll have the baby already 🥰

@Sitchervice ooh that's exciting, at least you have a slight less vague date then "any time between 38 and 42 weeks" 😂

I'm seeing the consultant on Friday, I'm hoping they take sympathy on me for the pgp I'm suffering with and we can sort something sooner rather than later.

Nesski · 12/05/2021 11:49

Literally so exciting, we don't have much time left before the babies arrive!!!!

northerngal20 · 12/05/2021 12:05

eeek yes it's really flying by now! so exciting @Sitchervice

question: are waves of quite sore period cramps normal at this stage of pregnancy (34 weeks)? I'm feeling them like a wave upwards from low down (my vagina/cervix area) every so often - they don't last long but i noticed them last night and again this morning. They don't feel like tightenings so i don't think they're braxton hicks!

TerryRose · 12/05/2021 12:55

Thanks for all the replies re scans ! Looks like it's the same for us all so ☺️☺️

Nesski · 12/05/2021 13:32

@northerngal20 the only way I can describe mine is that it feels like period pains!!! And then, there are the Braxton Hicks that radiate from my stomach down, either way, both not that comfortable.

northerngal20 · 12/05/2021 13:36

@Nesski ahhh ok!!! maybe these are BH then! I've been wondering when i'd start to feel them. Thanks though - good to know it's not just me!

Jinglebells87 · 12/05/2021 16:24

Anyone else feeling like something might be happening? I'm sure it's all just in my head and I being DC3 I know what's coming but I have felt "different" since yesterday. I was so emotional yesterday and felt that stuff was happening "down there" Grin. I have had a lot more lightning crotch sensations going on and more painful bracton hicks whereas before I had no pain at all.
Chances of this baby coming early are slim to none (we don't do early in my familyWink!). Anyone else feel "different" but can't quite put their finger on it?? Btw I'm 37 weeks today!

Sitchervice · 12/05/2021 16:27

Only pain I have is my back but also top of my bump. It feels like the skin is going to split open! I've mentioned it to midwives and obstertrition but they seem un fussed.

Humpty11 · 12/05/2021 16:49

@Jinglebells87 I was thinking the same thing earlier but also thinking it’s probably just me wishing for her to be here 😂. I was induced with my son so don’t know what it feels like to go into labour naturally. I have the deepest period type pains that feel like the feeling when you just want your period to start! I’m only 36 weeks today though so would like her to hold on a little longer!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 12/05/2021 17:29

@Sitchervice I get that exact pain! That's the best way to describe it! It's so sharp a cross top of bump! Happens when I've probably done too much in a day mainly x

maloney123 · 12/05/2021 17:37

Just popping in to say hey everyone, hope you’re all okay! Not long to go now at all - is time dragging for anyone else?! I keep telling myself to enjoy this time as once the baby is here I won’t have a minute! I’m 37 weeks today x

seekingadvice23 · 12/05/2021 17:46

I've been having that pain too! I'm 36+1 this is my third baby, never had this before, and honestly the pain is horrendous. I spoke to my midwife Monday and she just said that it's the muscles stretching but if I'm in too much pain to ring hospital. She did also mention that I might need physio on my stomach after the baby if it is a problem but praying that isn't the case!
Waitingforbabypage · 12/05/2021 18:03

Feeling very precious right now. I've managed to keep my hormones/mood swings in check for 36 weeks now but today I am just not feeling it.

My OH has two brothers, one is buying new house this year (new build, he gets to pick all the insides and everything- all very exciting for him) and the other is getting married. Our 'thing' was expecting the baby.
Today the brother getting married has announced today that they are also expecting. Yes it's very exciting news but now we all have 2 exciting things to concentrate on for them and all of a sudden it's like our little one isn't about to make an appearance. My OH exclaimed "it makes the wedding even more special now" seemingly forgetting our precious little bundle is technically going to be illegitimate and as OH isn't actually divorced yet, my baby will be sharing a surname with his wife and not me, the actual mother. Yes I know I sound stupid. He's also already offered them all the baby stuff, the crib, the bouncy chair, clothes, etc- erm dude, baby isn't even here yet and you're giving her stuff away?! Nice one.
I just feel very put out by it all.
I am very happy for the brother and his very soon to be wife, of course I am. But that daft part of me is feeling like a spoilt brat about it all. 🥺🙄

Just out of curiosity, are you engaged or planning to wed after the baby is here? I only ask because my biggest regret is not giving my daughter my surname or even double barrelled it. We eventually split up but I wished I put my foot down and had my surname in there too. I think I would be the same, especially if DH was hand away all our baby things when she wasn't even here yet. You're hormonal try not to let it get to you.
Waitingforbabypage · 12/05/2021 18:37

@seekingadvice23 I would very happily marry him but i don't think it's something he's even thinking about, as I say he's not even divorced yet- he's been separated for over 2 years though.

Sitchervice · 12/05/2021 18:52

@seekingadvice23 I keep expecting it to burst open!

@Waitingforbabypage ask him "have you forgotten about our baby because she's going to need that stuff your so happily giving away!" trust me I would not be keeping quiet about that at all. 🤣

Waitingforbabypage · 12/05/2021 19:12

@Sitchervice it's pretty much what I said 😂
