@Sitchervice they have no idea how uncomfortable it is so they🤣

I'm just worried sick, her movements feel so different, just really low down and not as strong and very infrequent. I'm going to see how she does this morn and go to day unit this aft if I'm still worried, I've got the scan in the morning first thing so hopefully that will confirm all is well x

northerngal20 · 10/05/2021 11:15

@Santatizer thinking of you! you're in the best place -- hope everything goes well, i'm sure it will.

@AnxiousAnnie86 ahh that's so stressful, how has she been this morning? if you're at all worried then do go in to be checked again. keep us posted!

@AnxiousAnnie86 don't ever feel like your bothering the unit. They'll prefer you to come in then not. Hopefully it's just because she's so low down.

Nesski · 10/05/2021 13:12

@Jinglebells87 yes absolutely do it (feel like I need to add caveat note here)! I've seen Lilos on sale that have a hole in it just so you can lie tummy down in the pool 🤣.

Jinglebells87 · 10/05/2021 13:24

😂😂 @Nesski funny you should mention that because I am totally considering a cheap rubber ring for the last few weeks of pregnancy! Not sure my other half would appreciate me taking up the majority of the bed with a pool inflatable though lol!

Nesski · 10/05/2021 13:31

@santatizer oo how exciting!

@AnxiousAnnie86 I hope you've gone back to the unit. It sounds too stressful to stay at home worrying like that.

ChasingARainbow · 10/05/2021 14:39

@AnxiousAnnie86 how are the movements now? I probably had about 36 hours of barely feeling her- the movements were much less frequent and very gently- it was reassuring to see her moving away in the scan- she's still head down now but her feet point to my right side so feeling the kicks more stronger now. If you're worried I'd say go back in for the monitoring until they can get you in for the a scan.

I had a scan and consultant appointment booked in this morning (35+4), sonographer thinks she has detected talipeds in her left foot (club foot), I've been referred to a specialist in another hospital but the appointment isn't until Friday morning. It was such a shock as usually it's detected at 20 weeks, it was also the first scan my husband didn't come to as he had a work meeting and because the others have all been ok I told him not to worry- luckily I called him and he got there before I went to see the consultant as I wasn't taking anything in.
Hopefully the baby's foot was just in an awkward position or if she does have it it's not too severe.

pookypup · 10/05/2021 16:05

@ChasingARainbow that must have been quite a shock - I’m glad you were able to have your DH with you for the consultants appointment. Having the support of a partner at scans an appointments is so important for the few occasions that there is a concern.

Hoping your little girl’s foot is ok. Flowers

AnxiousAnnie86 · 10/05/2021 16:17

@ChasingARainbow yeah I just have muffled movements, had about an hour this afternoon where they were normal again but quietened down now. Hopefully scan tomorrow will show all fine

Oh no! I hope everything goes well Friday! I would of thought if it was severe it would of been picked up at 20 weeks! If she does have it (which hopefully she won't) if it's mild and detected from birth it is normally treatable really quickly and no surgery needed or anything xx

Sitchervice · 10/05/2021 17:00

@ChasingARainbow wow that is a shock!! I hope your doing ok.
Very odd they didn't pick it up at 20 week scan!

ChasingARainbow · 10/05/2021 18:23

@Sitchervice the sonographer said she was quite sure today but needed a specialist to confirm but after when I went in to see the consultant he said that occasionally they get missed at 20 weeks but generally tend to be picked up then, he was quite reassuring and said wait for the specialist on Friday. There's a few types it could be- one is positional and it shows later in pregnancy and happens as the baby gets less space but this is easier to correct.
I felt really upset earlier but then tried to put it into perspective and we could have been told much worse today- Easier said than didn't though and I upset myself earlier by looking at some Instagram accounts of some journeys with it and the babies getting sores on their feet from the casting.
@AnxiousAnnie86 give your maternity unit a call if you're still worried because it will be a long tonight otherwise. That said I've felt really gentle and infrequent movements today and even when they was scanning me this morning, they spent ages on her feet and legs and I could see her kicking away but couldn't feel a thing.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 10/05/2021 18:31

@ChasingARainbow yeah it's a strange one! I have an anterior placenta so I'm hoping she's just shifted to a place where it's muffled x

Nesski · 10/05/2021 19:50

@ChasingARainbow fingers crossed to you both for Friday. The main thing is that it's very easily treatable even if it is confirmed and there is a straightforward treatment plan xxx

@ChasingARainbow my wee girl had positional talipes when she was born. Very minor. We were given massage techniques to use after bath time/night time. She also had a very slight turn in her foot when she started walking. Again massages and watching for sitting positions and not letting them sit in a W position.
Hopefully just minor for you guys too. Try not to panic ❤️

northerngal20 · 11/05/2021 10:38

hope all is ok at the scan today @AnxiousAnnie86!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 11/05/2021 12:32

Thanks ladies! Have been there all morning! Everything looking okay! Not sure why movements seem reduced! Did a detailed scan all looking well! She's very small though! In the 10th percentile x

ChasingARainbow · 11/05/2021 12:33

@Happy2be thank you, I've read so many threads on here about it and feel much more reassured, pleased to hear it was minor for your little one, the positional type seems to be the easiest one to correct so I'm really hoping it's that but will have to wait until she's born to find out.

ChasingARainbow · 11/05/2021 16:10

@AnxiousAnnie86 so pleased everything is looking good x

TerryRose · 11/05/2021 18:16

Just on the topic of scans , how many scans have you had recently and left to go ? My last scan in hospital was 21 weeks!! And not sure I'll have another which seems bizarre. We did have a private 3d scan but that's not a medical scan .

AnxiousAnnie86 · 11/05/2021 18:28

@TerryRose I think only two is the norm? Unless the need to investigate anything further, I think the standard is 12 and 20 weeks, I had a scan at 26 to check placental location and another today to check movement, but they wouldn't be normal ones x

LittleMimi · 11/05/2021 18:38

2 scans is the norm. I had 4 scans (my last today) but two were extra growth scans due to low p-appa from bloods at 12 weeks. Luckily there’s no issue with the size so it’s been good to see the baby more.

Sitchervice · 11/05/2021 18:45

@TerryRose I've had growth scans since first scan. I get them ever 4 weeks and when I go see obstertrition. Most photographered baby EVER! my next growth scan is 24th
