@AnxiousAnnie86 yes the day unit are always so lovely and will help you! Never feel like your bothering them because you aren't.

I've been there 4 times now. 3 for odd movements.

Nesski · 09/05/2021 19:12

@AnxiousAnnie86 I get this too, I've just assumed it's part of my body getting prepared, it's like he is trying to dig his way out! And I call the maternity assessment unit, which is basically a&e for pregnant ladies if I'm concerned, it should be in your book!

Nesski · 09/05/2021 19:14

*notes!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 09/05/2021 19:22

Thanks ladies, I'm down at the assessment unit now. I'm so so worried, never had reduced movement like this. She's kicking once maybe every fifteen mins, normally it's constant movement

AlRRRR · 09/05/2021 19:24

@AnxiousAnnie86 you’re in exactly the right place ! Keep us updated if you like! Good luck xxx

Santatizer · 09/05/2021 20:49

Well, my waters went early this morning at 34+6. Have had to be transferred 90 mins away as so SCBU space at local hospital. Not gone into labour yet so fingers crossed I might be able to go another week or so... All a bit unexpected as had growth scan on Fri and everything seemed totally hunky dory!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 09/05/2021 21:42

I'm home now, baby wasn't moving on monitor but heartbeat was strong, I have to go for a scan Tuesday morning to check placenta, and go to day assessment tomorrow if no movement.

@Santatizer oh my gosh!!! Are they keeping you in?? Have they put you on steroids?? X

Nesski · 09/05/2021 21:57

@Santatizer keeping fingers and toes crossed for

Nesski · 09/05/2021 21:59

Arrgghh!

@Santatizer keeping fingers and toes crossed for you, you will both be fine xxx

Santatizer · 09/05/2021 22:03

Thanks all. Yes had steroid injection this morning. It bloody hurt Grin. Also on antibiotics. Bit scary but not within my control so trying to just go with it all. As much as I can anyway.

Sitchervice · 09/05/2021 22:16

@Santatizer all the best lovely. You're in the right place. Hope you're doing ok!

pookypup · 09/05/2021 22:39

@Santatizer good luck! Sounds like you are being well looked after.

ChasingARainbow · 09/05/2021 22:48

@AnxiousAnnie86 hope you're doing ok, I had similar a couple of week ago with reduced movement and also had a tiny pit of spotting- I ended up going in and her heartbeat was strong on the monitor so was booked for a scan the following day- turns out she'd moved to being head down and was kicking away at my anterior placenta so I wasn't feeling it. Since then she's still head down but has moved so I can feel her more now.... they like to keep us on our toes don't they!
@Santatizer thinking of you, sounds like you're in the right place, hope you've got a book or something downloaded to watch to pass the time

AnxiousAnnie86 · 10/05/2021 06:36

@ChasingARainbow she's still not moving very much, how long did it last for you? I've barely slept at all, just praying for a movement, I can feel the odd one here and there. I do have an anterior placenta but have felt movements reallt strongly up until now x

teaformummy · 10/05/2021 07:23

@AnxiousAnnie86 The movement counter on Kicks count website is good to monitor what you are feeling. I had an anterior placenta last time as well and movement felt much more subtle in the last couple of weeks i spose when he moved down. Really hope youre doing OK! Thinking of you and @Santatizer x

Jinglebells87 · 10/05/2021 07:28

Morning everyone! Just having a little catch up. Good luck @Santatizer! Keep us updated!

@AnxiousAnnie86 - I hope you are doing OK. If.you are still worried I would get checked out again. Reduced movements are a worry. I know my movements have felt a bit different recently because he now has little room to move (37 weeks this week!). I said to my midwife it's more rolls and hiccups than lots of kicking and punching!

I have a sleep question for anyone that might know! So I know we should sleep on our sides and not our back (I'm not a back sleeper anyway so doesn't bother me). But can we sleep on our fronts if we make a big hole for our bump to sit in?? I'm really struggling to sleep on my side because of PGP pain and any little move and my hips, legs, bum get cramp. I'm only sleeping about 45 mins at a time and at 5am I was soooo desperate for proper sleep that I made my pregnancy pillow into a doughnut and stuck my belly in there with loads of pillows around to keep me elevated. It was bloody lovely!!! Now I'm worried that I shouldn't have done it! 😕. Has anyone else done this recently??

AnxiousAnnie86 · 10/05/2021 07:37

@teaformummy thank you that makes me feel better, she's definitely head down, midwife confirmed At last app. And I can't feel what feels like banging on cervix! All kicks seem to be really low down now too. So maybe she has just changed positions, I'm really hoping that because her heartbeat was perfect she's not in any distress and all is okay. Scan tomorrow morning at 9.

@Jinglebells87 thank you I'm
Going to see how she does this morning and go back this afternoon if still very very quiet. It's just so terrifying to get to this point and then feel like something is going to go wrong. I just pray the hospital wouldn't of sent me home of concerned x

Sitchervice · 10/05/2021 07:39

@Jinglebells87 I'm with you there. And doctors say sleeping on side helps with pain 🤬 like they'd know! I'm also peeing loads in night. Getting up peeing standing then needing to go again before I make it back to bed. Doctors don't seem to think anything is wrong!

I have a pillow fort around me. (Poor husband...) If I need to I lean back. So I'm semi on back at an angle or the same for front. Though I have seen pillows sold for front sleeping!

Jinglebells87 · 10/05/2021 07:56

Oh yes @Sitchervice I'm constantly up for a wee about 5 times a night too. I'm fact sometimes I just get up for a wee to get some relief from lying down! I just need to keep going for a week and then when I have a rubbish night I can just sleep during the day. I am really not looking forward to work today after such little sleep! 😫

@AnxiousAnnie86 always best to double check these things. Getting them to check again isn't you being a nuisance, it is you being a great mum and looking after your baby. Don't feel unsure about going in again! Hope she does lots of wriggling soon for you! Smile

AnxiousAnnie86 · 10/05/2021 08:06

@Jinglebells87 sleep is awful isn't it! I find turning over such hard work!!!! I do the same as @Sitchervice have a pillow behind me so can lean back on it and then wedge one under bump that seems to be most comfortable or sleep with a lot of pillow behind you sort of propped up xx

AlRRRR · 10/05/2021 08:14

@Jinglebells87 I have to go to sleep
on my back and then if I wake up in the night, I have to change onto my back first and then when my body is relaxed, I can finally lay on my side, but If I turn over, I have to start on the back again. The pain is just too bad if I try to start on my sides! :)

teaformummy · 10/05/2021 08:19

@AnxiousAnnie86 don't hesitate to go in again if your gut tells you to. Mums know best. Im sure if you can feel her that low down she's just getting ready for moving day tho!

@Jinglebells87 the pillow donut sounds fab.... I might try that lol!!

Sitchervice · 10/05/2021 09:02

@Jinglebells87 I know what you mean. I hate work at the moment I just want to rest. 9 days left for me

@AnxiousAnnie86 my husband comes in and is like... Where do I sleep 😂
I hope your doing better today BTW. Its scary sometimes when you don't feel them move.
