Minster's Side car bumping along - TTC Graduates Bus 1

Sausage1990 · 24/03/2021 10:18

Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

Sorry I've been a bit absent, I've just been feeling so terrible, think this baby hates me. Mentally struggling too as I've had to take another day off work today because of it. My boss is super supportive as he knows, but I just feel like everyone will be thinking I'm shirking with days off here and there 😞

@Thinkingandblinking I paid for private scan with a clinic near me, it actually really helped as I was struggling to believe there was actually something in there and it's nice to know there was a heartbeat and healthy etc

Kirky658 · 29/03/2021 18:39

@thinkingandblinking we had one at 7+5 it cost us £75. I was also daft enough to pay the extra £10 for the video of the heartbeat lol. So worth it though it really put my mind at ease x

Thinkingandblinking · 29/03/2021 18:55

Thanks all for sharing, maybe I will go private, gonna think about it! Only 6 weeks so tempted to leave it a bit yet!

SamoyedFan123 · 29/03/2021 19:55

@Thinkingandblinking if your feeling anxious an eagerly private scan I think is well worth the money. I had one at 6+2 as a viability scan is done as standard as part of a FET or IVF cycle. This was particularity helpful as i'd been having bleeding and was extremely stressed out. The scan showed a HB and a a little haematoma that was causing the bleeding so really reassuring. I also paid for another one around 10 weeks because we wanted to tell the family our news at Xmas but the NHS didn't book my dating scan until nearly 14 weeks at the beginning of January 🙄

@Justanothercyster sorry to hear your feeling so rough - have you seen your GP for anti sickness meds? I hope it eases off for you soon x

Haiyaa · 29/03/2021 20:06

Hi everyone, sorry I’ve been quiet today. Not been feeling brilliant. Have had low back pain since last night and today so similar to my AF pains that it is freaking me out a bit. Been feeling sick and dizzy but not sure if that is just panic 😞 went shopping earlier and felt a bit “wet” and was convinced I must have started bleeding but thankfully I hadn’t. Anyone else have back pain early on? I can’t remember if I did with DD or not. I spoke to DH but he just said “well we got really lucky with DD it was all so straightforward 🙄 so we will just have to see what happens” also Femometer strips came and did one this afternoon. Definitely a line but I feel like it should be darker by now at 16DPO. The app still won’t pick it up even though I can see it and the contrast is very obvious. I think first trimester is definitely the hardest!

Kirky658 · 29/03/2021 20:28

@haiyaa I had terrible backache hun from about 5 weeks till 8 weeks. That combined with the cramping I had scared me shitless. Thank goodness it went and now its back with the sciatica 🙄

SamoyedFan123 · 29/03/2021 20:31

@haiyaa i also started with low back pain at 5 weeks. 20 weeks later it is thoroughly miserable. I never had this in my first pregnancy, at least but right until the end. Midwife says its because the twins ruined my abdominal muscles last time.

DJmum83 · 29/03/2021 20:40

I had an early scan at 7+5 definitely if you can get one it's worth it for a bit of peace of mind.

@Justanothercyster sorry your feeling so rough, I'm just coming out the other side and I wouldn't wish it on anybody.

@Florence13 I know it's flying in now I'm back at work and not just lying about. Can't wait for my scan. How are you feeling?

I had backache for the first 5 weeks and terrible cramps. I also felt wet and kept checking. Easy to say hard to do try not to worry xxx

DJmum83 · 29/03/2021 20:42

@SamoyedFan123 I have had 3 c sections do this is number 4 and have a feeling the backache is going to be terrible. I have no stomach muscles.
Did you have twins first time? How exciting. Xx

Haiyaa · 29/03/2021 20:50

Thanks ladies, that has really reassured me. I have had a section and abdominal surgery so no doubt my muscles are shot to bits.

SamoyedFan123 · 29/03/2021 20:54

@DJmum83 yes twins last time by cat 1 EMCS. It was a truly horrific experience and i will do everything in my power to avoid another c section this time - the thought terrifies me. You are so brave going for number 4! To this day nearly 2 years in I have never been able to look at or touch my scar. If VBAC goes wrong and I need EMCS this time they will need to put me under GA again as there's no other way I'll be able to do it.
I actually thought my abs had recovered quite well as I train a lot and they were feeling strong, but after mentioning the awful back pain to my MW at 16 appointment she had a poke around and apparently could tell that they never closed up fully after the twins.

Florence13 · 29/03/2021 21:49

@Justanothercyster sorry to hear your feeling so rough I have to admit I’m feeling very nauseous but not vomiting at the moment.

@Thinkingandblinking yes I think I am going to pay and have a private early scan for peace of mind to be honest.

@Haiyaa I’ve been suffering with lower back ache to and constantly checking tissue and knickers in case I am starting to bleed.

@DJmum83 I am not too bad thank you although the nausea is real, have only vomited a couple of times and really hoping it stays that way.

DJmum83 · 29/03/2021 21:53

@SamoyedFan123 I'm really sorry you had such a horrible experience.
All mine I can honestly say were a good experience.
Really hope you get your vbac this time.

Sorry @Florence13 your feeling rough but these are good signs so fingers crossed.
Xx

Florence13 · 29/03/2021 22:14

@DJmum83 thank you, yes I am grateful I have some symptoms I think whether you do or don’t you worry. The first trimester is definitely a massive mental test which is why I know for me an early scan is going to be needed.

DJmum83 · 29/03/2021 22:25

@Florence13 it definitely is a rollercoaster of emotions I prayed to feel better and now I'm panicked something wrong.
Hope the next 3 weeks go quick.
When will you book a scan for xx

Florence13 · 30/03/2021 07:47

Probably a couple of weeks time just so I can believe there is something in there.
Aww bless you I hope the next few weeks fly by too.

Florence13 · 30/03/2021 07:48

Sorry forgot to tag @DJmum83

DJmum83 · 30/03/2021 09:11

Thanks @Florence13 hope it flys by for you too xxx

Florence13 · 30/03/2021 10:22

@DJmum83 thank you I have to admit I feel like it is dragging at the moment xx

Kirky658 · 30/03/2021 11:34

@florence13 it seems to take forever to get to 12 weeks then suddenly you blink and another 4 weeks has gone by... I have to say though for me the waiting game of between 12 and 20 weeks hasn't been great I just want to know that my bub is safe and healthy. 4 weeks tomorrow!

Florence13 · 30/03/2021 11:43

@Kirky658 yes I feel like since I took the test time has been standing still. Aww bless you, cannot believe it’s only 4 weeks until your 20 weeks!

Justanothercyster · 30/03/2021 11:52

Thank you lovelies, still feeling rough today so having a sofa day with pup but will drag myself in tomorrow as I want to be with my Year 11s before they do their exams. Even if I have to barf in the bin 💪🏼😂

I know some of you already have children, and this may sound really silly but I'm actually very scared now! I know it's still early but I keep thinking omg I'm going to be in charge of a living human in November. Has anyone else ever had that fear? What if I'm crap at it?? We don't have any family nearby so how the heck am I going to go back to work? I'm sure I'll be fine as the dog is still alive but still 😂 So many questions have just suddenly hit me 😱

SamoyedFan123 · 30/03/2021 12:04

@Justanothercyster I think that feeling is really common! Even though my twins were desperately wanted IVF babies, I had many wobbles during my pregnancy where I thought what the hell have I done?? I was excited and terrified in equal parts tbh. The thought of being responsible for two tiny humans was terrifying but once they arrived I absolutely loved it. Like you I think it helps that I had three dogs which I've managed to look after perfectly well 😁

@Kirky658 the weeks between the 12 and 20 week scans are almost as tough as the first 12 at times. I broke mine up with a private gender scan at 17 weeks. One you get past the 20 week scan the time starts to fly honestly!

Kirky658 · 30/03/2021 12:15

@justanothercyster deffo feel that way babe. I've had far too many crying fits to count wondering how the hell I'm gonna look after a baby when I can just about look after myself!? Everyone keeps saying I'll learn...

@samoyedfan123 couldn't agree more. Trying to resist the temptation to get another scan in between as we've got so much to pay out for atm. We ordered the transfer stickers for the nursery yesterday and they were 60 quid 😂

DJmum83 · 30/03/2021 12:42

@Justanothercyster I have 3 and I remember feeling like that with my first, had a major melt down and was like how will I do this. But you manage and the love you have for that wee baby is something out of this world. You will be a super mummy.
Xx
