Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

@justanothercyster that is an absolutely beautiful announcement. So so thoughtful and poignant. X

So I forgot to say when we left the hospital yesterday DH genuinely jumped into the air and did a happy dance, haven't seen him that happy since the day we got married it was so lovely 😍 and my scan was very entertaining, they had a doctor in there who works on the maternity ward but was there for ultrasound training as apparently they're expected to do scans in the mau with very little training. Anyway he was lovely but struggling a bit so the other nurse stepped in. Was very funny as they were taking the mickey out of how full my bladder was, so they had to make me go for a wee in the end so they could get their measurements! I mean, they tell you to drink a pint and a half of water sooo.... Hahhaa

2020mission · 29/04/2021 20:36

@Kate105 ohh hopefully the next 2 weeks fly by so you can have your next scan! Thanks for letting me know you had no issues with sharing early. I think I just have to tell him. It's safest and will keep me at home still working as efficiently and with a lot less stress. Any discussions can easily be covered through zoom and we don't have any big work on the go anyway 🙄 I'm just gutted to have to let the secret out before we've even told family and before we feel we are in the safer part of the pregnancy 😑

2020mission · 29/04/2021 20:38

Aww that's lovely @Kirky658 was your husband not at the last scan? Or just more excited as there was more to see this time? I can't wait to see how my husband reacts as I think a lot of men don't realise the reality of it all until it's there on screen 😅

Kirky658 · 29/04/2021 20:52

@2020mission he came to the 12 week one too, think it was just the relief to be honest of everything being OK ❤️🤗 he's dead excited!

Justanothercyster · 29/04/2021 21:16

@2020mission if it makes you feel better I'm trapped in a room with 180 kids per day on rotate with no social distancing and I haven't caught it yet 😂 in all seriousness though, I did tell mine as he is lovely and supportive, so you just need to do what you think is right. As long as you distance and keep hands clean you should be fine, one day is better than everyday I suppose x

@Kirky658 thank you x
That is so cute!

Florence13 · 29/04/2021 21:50

@Kirky658 thank you

@Minster2012 I hope your meal is going well.

@Justanothercyster aww what a lovely announcement and yes the difference is incredible.

@2020mission really sorry I don’t have any advise as I haven’t told work yet. But I think if you feel uncomfortable it is important to tell them as if you have been working from home then surely you can continue to do so?

TickTockTee · 29/04/2021 22:38

@Minster2012 hope you've had a fab meal out.

@Sausage1990 definitely feeling the fear with you, having the scan made feel calm for a while but it's so hard not knowing what's going on!

@Justanothercyster that's such a lovely and honest announcement 💗

@2020mission I told one of my colleagues earlier on this week as my boss isn't around atm, more because I knew they'd be worried if I wasn't around due to illness and they've been great. So nice to talk to someone about it!

@kirky658 great to hear that your husband is so excited about it. I know mine is pleased but he doesn't show his emotions alot. I think he's worried about what might happen, particularly as we've been here a few times before.

Minster2012 · 30/04/2021 07:27

Morning ladies, @2020mission I would tell your boss that you are pregnant and it's "quite early, I'm not sure til my scan" and you are already vomiting which is obviously much more pleasant at home. Be prepared to compromise say go in once every 2 weeks but would really appreciate it if you could continue to WFH and be the most diligent employee you can as pregnant ladies are classed as high risk.

@Kirky658 that's so lovely from DH what a fab thing to see for you

Thank you ladies I had such a lovely meal and BY GOD I ATE LOADS I was Def bloated 🤣

Also had pregnancy symptoms 🙌🏻on the way I was nearly sick from the winding roads then last night my back was killing all night I was tossing and turning couldn't get comfy at all and it really hurts. Any advice to help it?

Minster2012 · 30/04/2021 07:28

Oh and I covered not drinking perfectly as DH & I were the first to arrive so I asked for a tonic, lemon & ice in a gin glass then had softs as I was driving back 🙌🏻yessssssss

Minster2012 · 30/04/2021 07:55

@DJmum83 here's hoping you get your NIPT results through today & they are perfect 😘

Sausage1990 · 30/04/2021 08:07

I saw this and thought you girls would like to see it... I needed to see it today as I've been feeling quite anxious about my scan next week. My friend who ive been talking to irl about pregnancy anxiety after loss, has now got to 13 weeks and baby is fine and although she's still supportive, she's become a little bit dismissive and is like try not to worry, it will be OK. Let focus on the positives. And I get it but she's past the scary bit now and you can tell she's happier (which I am so glad she is) but I feel a bit on my own with it because I'm not past my scary bit - I'm in the scary bit for me. Literally 9+1 weeks baby got to last time and I'm 9+1 today according to my dates (although my scan date puts me at 8+4 I'm still sticking with my dates for now) and I won't find out until next week, so I'm finding that hard. Not knowing if baby's doing ok. It's very hard. I know you girls understand....

Then this morning I saw this post and I needed to see it, so wanted to share because I think a few of your guys will appreciate it too 💕🌈🙏🏻

@minster2012 yay on the meal and the no drinking cover up, wahey! Also good on the pregnancy symptoms! Back pain is a bitch I had it so bad about 6 weeks to 12 weeks. Only thing that helped me was a pregnancy pillow, tucked behind my back on the sofa and then tucked behind my back in bed x
@sausage1990 I definitely get that, that was a million percent me before 12 weeks scan and before Wednesday. It's so easy for people to tell you it's going to be fine but when you've had a journey like yours it's completely understandable. I tried to just see it as well I have a baby till proven otherwise, I have symptoms that strongly suggest that too, etc. Sending love and hugs and hope this doesn't come across as condescending ! Xxx

Florence13 · 30/04/2021 08:36

@Minster2012 glad you got on well at your meal and yay for pregnancy symptoms. I suffered with my back and mainly used a hot water bottle to be honest.

@Sausage1990 aww I love those affirmations and I totally understand where you are at I have to admit I think for me the 9-12 weeks really dragged. Every day felt so long and by the time my scan day came yesterday I was an anxious mess. All I can say is that as those affirmations say you are pregnant and there is a baby in there that fingers crossed is bedding in well and growing. For now all you can do is take the positive that there is nothing to make you think otherwise at the moment. Here for you.

Minster2012 · 30/04/2021 09:01

Oh @Sausage1990 that's made me tear up, and you are doing so well for your chipolata, I'm sorry your friend has forgotten a bit big big hugs 😘totally get the scary time, I'm going to look at that affirmations every day

Must find the hot water bottle & look into pregnancy pillow (we have a big V shaped pillow that I recently gave to my parents to store at their house ffs) thank you @Florence13 @Kirky658

Thinkingandblinking · 30/04/2021 09:08

Morning lovelies!

@Sausage1990 totally understand and all very natural and normal to feel like this when you have been through loss, my last one stopped at 9+2 so really similar to you, I have taken to saying in my head when the dark thoughts come “well it can’t always be bad news!” It’s bloody hard so go easy on yourself, sending cwtch xx

2020mission · 30/04/2021 09:28

Thanks for all your input 👍 I realise I have it lucky still working from home as it’s not possible with some jobs! Sorry if I sound like I’m being unreasonable 😅 it’s really the fact that only our little group from the department is being asked to go in and everyone else can still stay home. All I see is increased risk for the benefit of my line manger’s ego. I think it will be a case of telling him. Hopefully he understands. It really won’t impact my work in any way staying home for a bit longer. It feels like these first months are crucial for development. I'm just scared.

@Sausage1990 thanks for sharing that photo, it definitely is hard!

@Minster2012 glad you got through the night without anyone noticing you’re off drinks and symptoms are definitely a good sign!

Sausage1990 · 30/04/2021 11:00

I'll reply properly later but you girls are the best!!!! your words mean so much!

Hi everyone

Still no results another weekend of worrying and overthinking. They are hopeful it will be Monday.

I needed something to cheer me up so I have booked a gender scan next Sunday our anniversary we are going to get it put in a confetti canister and pop it with the kids.
I wasn't going to find out but I have changed my mind be nice to name baby.

How's everyone else doing? Any plans for this weekend. I'm off work so a nice chilled out weekend for us xx

Kirky658 · 30/04/2021 20:04

@djmum83 sorry you haven't had your results yet. Hopefully won't be too much longer babe. The confetti cannon sounds lovely! We've had to change our plans for the weekend as DH's parents didn't want to sit in the cold rain on Monday so they're coming Sunday for a bbq then my parents coming Monday so we can do the cake and gender reveal. So a busy weekend!!! Xx

lucyrp · 30/04/2021 20:07

@DJmum83 sorry you've had to wait longer. Exciting about gender reveal though! Unfortunately my weekend Involves working Saturday and Monday 😩 no idea whag we'll do Sunday but I'm worn out tonight. Thinking about bed already! Xx

Minster2012 · 30/04/2021 20:24

@2020mission I don't think you sound unreasonable, some ppl can WFH and some can't, I like getting out & doing stuff tbh it keeps me sane even now.

@DJmum83 sorry you've had to wait longer but exciting on the gender reveal that sounds so exciting! And exciting times this weekend for @Kirky658 too!

DH seeing some friends tomorrow afternoon then we don't have any other plans really, we've kept it free in case of house stuff

Justanothercyster · 30/04/2021 21:34

@2020mission eek it out as long as you can, I would if I could!

@Minster2012 yay for symptoms! The back pain comes and goes but lying down helps.

@Sausage1990 that's lovely 💕

@DJmum83 the gender plan sounds lovely, such a nice thing to do and look forward to x

Plans for me are to have an early night tonight and we're moving in the morning, so apologies if I'm not around lots this weekend, it's probably because I'm trying to hide away from unpacking boxes or napping in secret whilst dh moves stuff around 😂

Sausage1990 · 01/05/2021 12:34

@justanothercyster hope your move is going OK xxx

Kirky658 · 01/05/2021 13:37

@justanothercyster hope it's all going well and you're not to do too much!

I've just been doing some gardening and now I'm pooped. 😅

2020mission · 01/05/2021 13:59

@Justanothercyster is your house move in ready or do you have some work to do to it? Hopefully you're not having to move too much!

@Minster2012 how are you feeling now have you had anymore nausea? I've still got no symptoms although I seem to not be able to eat in the evenings my appetite is so low after dinner. Struggle to even drink water 😅

@Sausage1990 hope you're still coping ok with the sickness!
