Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

Congrats @Kirky658 and @Justanothercyster fab news, on scan and results!

Sorry been quiet, feel really anxious now 10weeks and it’s been a slog mentally and not sure I could do this again if it all goes wrong! Don’t want to be a Debby downer (sorry any Debby’s again)!

Sausage1990 · 28/04/2021 20:39

@thinkingandblinking you're not being a Debbie downer at all. I'm with you on those feelings. I was just saying to DH how I keep getting gripped with fear about the scan next week and worrying it will go wrong again... And I don't know how I'll cope with that. Its really normal to feel how you feel, this is a safe space to share those worries & anxieties 💕 have you spoken to anyone about your anxiety around it all? Xx

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 28/04/2021 21:21

Such amazing news @Kirky658 & @Justanothercyster that's fantastic scans and also new house!! Yesssssss and yes please I need your new address

@Thinkingandblinking Jesus I'm with you on the anxiety anyway, totally get it, and don't worry, it's Debbie's night off 😘

Kirky658 · 28/04/2021 21:22

@thinkingandblinking definitely been there for both scans. I felt better for a bit after the 12 week scan, then felt horribly anxious for this one too. Better to let those anxieties out like @sausage1990 it's a sage place here and we are all here to listen xxx

TickTockTee · 28/04/2021 21:49

@kirky658 congrats on that scan and baby being calm enough for you to find out the sex.

Glad you've had the results back @Justanothercyster, must be such a relief.

Been offline as I've been feeling really ill since last Saturday, just easing off now but had really bad stomach pains. I've reacted badly to pregnacare tablets before so wondering if seven seas aren't agreeing with me.

@djmum83 fingers crossed for your results arriving quickly.

Justanothercyster · 29/04/2021 06:42

Thanks lovelies 💕 I've just put up our "announcement", very honest about how shore ttc can be! I hope it will get people thinking a bit more and talking more openly about it. Was a bit terrifying putting it up in all truth but I promised myself I would. Gave a cheeky MN bus thread shout out to you all for being awesome 😉

@TickTockTee oh no! I hope you're ok and start feeling better soon x

Sausage1990 · 29/04/2021 07:27

@justanothercyster just saw your annoucement post. Beautifully written 💕 actually made me tear up a little. What a journey it's been to get this precious baby... I am still so happy for you! I'm glad we can all do this together! 🤰🏻🥰

Sausage1990 · 29/04/2021 08:14

Ohh gosh yeah it's scan day for @florence13!!! I've woken up with a horrible headache so I forgot what day it was!!! What time is your appointment? Good luck girly!!!

Also I've got my midwife booking appointment this afternoon (telephone) which I'm looking forward to as I'll hopefully get my dating scan appointment date soon after. Also just good to speak to someone about anxiety etc.

Hope you all have good days 💕

Thanks all! Feel a bit better this morning reading all your lovely comments and knowing you understand the inner turmoil! I have no control so just need to relax...!

Good luck @Florence13 xx

Kirky658 · 29/04/2021 08:47

@florence13 good luck today ❤️🤗
@justanothercyster not sure if I've got you on insta!

2020mission · 29/04/2021 08:55

@Justanothercyster saw your pregnancy news post. If I was still trying right now I know that would have been a lot easier to take than every other announcement I've ever seen simply from you sharing the truth 🙌 what a lovely photo too!

@Florence13 good luck today!

@Sausage1990 Hopefully the booking appointment will be helpful, can't be too long until your 12 week scan now? Although I know a week or even days can feel like a lifetime right now 😅

lucyrp · 29/04/2021 10:29

@Justanothercyster loved the announcement! Saw it first thing this morning and think I was one of the first to like! 🥰

@Florence13 good luck for today!

Sausage1990 · 29/04/2021 12:17

@2020mission well according to my dates I'm 9weeks today but according to my scan dates in 8+3weeks...so my dating scan will hopefully be in 3-4 weeks. Although I've got my next early scan a week tomorrow... I need to get through that 1st... Tbh I'm terrified and keep getting hit by waves of absolute fear that it'll all go wrong but trying very hard to stay positive and chilled like @thinkingandblinking 🤞🏻🙏🏻

Justanothercyster · 29/04/2021 13:17

Thanks ladies, it's prompted people to reach out and be open with me about their experiences so that's lovely.

Good luck @Florence13 !

Florence13 · 29/04/2021 18:43

Aww thank you ladies for all of the well wishes my scan went really well have a happy healthy baby in there so feeling super relieved! Cannot believe how big it is compared to my scan at 8+4 weeks.

@Justanothercyster so glad you got your results back and all is well. Congrats on the house stuff to!

@Kirky658 yay! Congratulations on having a little girl how exciting!!

@Minster2012 sorry to hear how your feeling but completely understandable I felt getting the the early scan was such a milestone. But then the anxiety came back for this scan but so far so good.

@Sausage1990 hope all has gone well with your booking appointment.

Kirky658 · 29/04/2021 19:00

@justanothercyster I wanna seeeee it 😭
@florence13 awwww that's fab hunni glad all went well!

Minster2012 · 29/04/2021 19:17

@Florence13 yeah, I know I was so tempted to do one next week but DJ won't come with me to 2, he says "you'll be fine and to not go overtop" so I've actually booked a scan today for 16th may when I should be around 8 weeks all being well so that gives me a focus 🤞🏻😬only just over 2 weeks to go 🤣

In the mean time i shall have to hope that the weeing like @Justanothercyster is a sign and not just cos I drank loads of water!

We are going out for a meal now with a different BIL & SIL & first "out" test of not drinking wish me luck!

Justanothercyster · 29/04/2021 19:43

@Florence13 yay! Glad the scan went well 💕 it's amazing seeing the difference isn't it

@Minster2012 definitely a pregnancy thing, a pain but good! I told dh at around 8 weeks that I might as well just have an IV drip and a nappy cos all I do is drink and pee haha.

@Kirky658 oh sorry I missed your message, the pic is below and this is what I wrote:

"We are so blessed to be able to share this news 💝👶🏽

For most couples, trying for a baby is a magical and exciting time that can be cherished. For others however, it can be lonely, heartbreaking and quite frankly, boring! When you experience month after month of yet another “nope, not this time” it can be emotionally and physically draining because it feels like no matter what, you always fail. When you couple that with being riddled with fertility issues and the reality of being told that it is unlikely you’ll conceive naturally, you lose hope. Not to mention that each pregnancy announcement triggers those feelings and you hate yourself for the hurt you feel at the expense of such happy news. But, you just have to pick yourself up, hold your head high and persevere.

I don’t normally write posts like this, but NOBODY TALKS ABOUT THIS. No one warns you about how painful the process can be. So I wanted to share my experience and be honest about how difficult it is for some couples, I wish I had known much earlier on! I hope this helps anyone out there who might be reading this. It took 18 months for our lucky surprise, and I know a lot of amazing women who are still desperately waiting for theirs whilst staying positive and supporting one another in the most inspiring ways - you know who you are girls 💕. So if anyone out there sees this and needs someone to talk to about it, please message me and know that you are NOT alone.

For others, please be sensitive when asking about plans for a family, as you don’t know how long they’ve been trying for, how many losses they might have had, or whether they’ve been told they will never conceive. Instead, just try to be a listening ear if they confide in you, and have patience.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, it’s been a big week in the Ford household, we are beyond excited 🥰"

Hey ladies, has anyone told their boss about their pregnancy early? I've been working from home since last March and my job is very office based I always had a work laptop and so it was a simple switch to home working. Half the department permanently worked remote too even before the pandemic. Today my manager told me during a zoom call that he wants me and the few others he manages back in the office once a week as of Monday and I'm really not comfortable with it. It took me by surprise so I didn't know what to say to it and just reluctantly said "oh ok". I'd have to commute on the train and the office is open plan with no windows you can open, just an air conditioning unit. I really don't want to risk catching covid while pregnant and my job can be done without any issues at home. We're not even busy right now and they are still claiming furlough for us (flexi furlough). My line manager even said he would just like the team to have face to face working so it's just for his control and what he'd like definitely not needed right now.

He's quite a bad boss, lacks empathy and is self centred so I know it won't work for me to simply say that I'd prefer not to yet as it's not safe without everyone being vaccinated and restrictions having been all lifted. I feel like my only option is to tell him the truth that I'm pregnant and want to baby and me as safe as possible. I also suspect sickness will kick in next week some time when I reach 6 weeks if I'm going to get it and it would be so much easier to be at home vomiting as my desk in the office is upstairs far from the toilets.

Any recommendations? I feel like it's far too early to share especially having had losses before and I would hate to have to tell him I miscarried as if I was no longer pregnant they might find a way to make me redundant before I get pregnant again?? 😫

Kate105 · 29/04/2021 20:27

Sorry work is manic right now so apologies to all I've missed!

@Kirky658 a little girl! Gorgeous news, congratulations ❤️ and I'm glad your scan went well too @Florence13 🥰

Not much news at my end, 20 week scan is a fortnight today so just waiting for that!

@2020mission i told my boss very early because I wanted a risk assessment when we went back into school after the last lockdown. On the other hand, my boss is really nice and supportive so it wasn't too much of an issue! Having said that, even if the worst were to happen a miscarriage is still pregnancy related so your rights are protected the same way as with a healthy pregnancy I believe... (NOT A LAWYER 😂)

Big hugs to those of you feeling a bit anxious... Not a lot I can say other than I sympathise and you're not alone in all of this!
