Minster's Side car bumping along - TTC Graduates Bus 1

Sausage1990 · 24/03/2021 10:18

Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

@TickTockTee oh no, take it easy lovely x

@Minster2012 his parents know so luckily I didn't have to pretend I wasn't having an emotional breakdown 😂 we found a pub garden and had some amazing food so that made me feel better haha. I'm telling my family next week after the scan 🤞🏼

DJmum83 · 24/04/2021 08:45

@Sausage1990 I had severe nausea all day they gave me buccastem you let them dissolve between gum and lip and honestly they were a life saver. I took 2 as soon as I got up 1 at lunch and1 at bed xx

Minster2012 · 24/04/2021 08:54

@TTCAbroad what a great point, it's good to give yourself a break from feeling shitty @Sausage1990, help you and that little chipolata both! 🥰

@Justanothercyster oh that's good pleased you had a good time, can I ask why you told his parents before yours? Do you see them more? We would tell DH's parents before mine too as mine obviously not very supportive as I said before and DH's mother is gonna go off her nut!! Especially as SIL also pregnant I found out when she found my Insta 🤣😱and she's due her 3rd 10th Dec. So she'll have 3 under 3, she tested at MILs and told her.

2020mission · 24/04/2021 09:03

I was thinking about when we'd tell our parents. I was thinking of telling my mum first in a week or so but my husband thinks we should tell both sides at the same time to make it fair... he thinks phone calls 😅 I'm not so keen

lucyrp · 24/04/2021 10:00

I told my mum via text at 5 weeks because she was coming for Christmas and would have wanted me to drink with her. Also quite close to her but knew she would hate the idea of me being pregnant🙈😂

Minster2012 · 24/04/2021 10:15

That's just it @lucyrp I stopped talking to my parents about anything TTC related Cos they made it perfectly clear "we were stupid" "especially during a pandemic" trying to have a second, whether they'll think it's "better" Cos natural than ivf no idea but I wouldn't turn to them for support, that's why we'd tell DH's parents sooner than mine @2020mission even tho MIL will tell everyone 🙄

Minster2012 · 24/04/2021 10:16

@TickTockTee you make sure you take it easy then, scary stuff isn't it!

lucyrp · 24/04/2021 10:25

@Minster2012 well as you well know the first thing my mum text back was "you can't afford it!" Umm I think we'd thought about that before hun... although now she's surprisingly okay about it and even excited as has knitted a few items for baby already! We told OH mum ay 6 weeks on Boxing Day and she was so excited bless her it was nice to have someone to tell who was actually excited with us 🙈

2020mission · 24/04/2021 10:45

Aww @lucyrp that's not the response you want! Glad she's moved on from that now though. I think both sides for us will be happy as it will be the first grand kids. Although we might get a bit of the "during a pandemic?" like you did @Minster2012 🙄 although restrictions are loosening now so hopefully they won't. My mum is wanting us over for a garden BBQ and drinks but I've made an excuse for this weekend as similar to you @lucyrp she will expect me to be sharing a bottle of wine with her 😅 and we want to keep it quiet until 6 weeks when the chemical risk has passed at least.

Minster2012 · 24/04/2021 10:54

Yeah ppl can be frustrating @lucyrp but glad she's excited now & OH's so excited straight away!

@2020mission I (think) my parents were on about me going in and out of hospitals in the pandemic for the ivf but overall it came out they just thought we were stupid, sake as before/during the MMC they said "well we don't want anymore babies from you" so they lost me. Tough. I don't think the timing now is an issue at all in general, my bro & his girlfriend had a baby (this time last year it's his 1st today!) and that wasn't great with no shop I g/baby groups/antenatal but they were happy for them I guess Cos it was start of pandemic. I think it will be very different for us & things will be all open 🙌🏻

lucyrp · 24/04/2021 10:58

@2020mission OHs mum already has a grandson but he's 11 now so been a long time since she's had any grand babies! My mum obviously I had DS 6 years ago and she wasn't a great fan of OH up until recently so that played a big part of it as she was always trying to get me to find someone else where as now I think she knows I'm with him and there's no changing that

Sausage1990 · 24/04/2021 12:06

@ttcabroad thank you hun I actually really needed to hear that. Sometimes you do just need a break, I definitely feel that I do. I think I've cried every day this week I've felt so shit so definitely need a break.

@minster2012 yes little chipolata definitely needs me to be well 💕 your SIL found your insta? Did she know it was you & therefore know you're pregnant too??

@DJmum83 oh yes I remember you had anti sickness stuff too. I'm glad you found them helpful, I'm feeling hopeful. How long did you take them for? X

With regards to telling parents we told DHs parents 1st both times but simply because we saw them 1st on the weekends we told. And then we told my parents the next day. We wanted to tell them around the same time too as thankfully they're all supportive & good with secrets. This time we've also told our closest friends because we can't be bothered with the secrets. It's been great to be open about it tbh, especially now with things opening up we don't have to be all clock and daggers about stuff. Sooo much less stressful 💕

I still can't get over how unsupportive your parents have been @minster2012 and your mum too at the beginning @lucyrp. Babies are happy news & we can't put life on hold because there's a pandemic. My grandad always used to say "we only get one chance at life so you have to make the most of it" and I definitely think this i year has shown us all that. So don't worry about any negativity around "it's a pandemic" - life's too short! 💕🌈

Also they've prescribed me Cyclizine 50mg up to 3 times a day. So I've taken 1 as soon as I've received it and I'll see how I go.

Xx

@Sausage1990 cyclizine is what I had xxx

Justanothercyster · 24/04/2021 17:12

@Minster2012 it's just because they're actually around a lot and we're so bad at lying haha! My mum knows but I wanted to surprise my dad with the scan pic because he knew we were going to go for ivf soon, and because he's in Dubai much easier to keep the secret. Also if I tell him he'd have told my Nan and my Nan would tell EVERYONE she came into contact with and probably broadcast it on FB 😂

Clairey844 · 24/04/2021 18:12

Hey all, just having a quick catch up.

@2020mission I know you asked this yesterday but I didn't even make the first contact with the GP until I was about 7/8 weeks 😬😬😬. I'd previously had a mmc that we only found out about at the 12wk scan so I was so reluctant to have another booking appointment until I was sure so after my 6wk scan and seeing a heartbeat I spent a bit longer putting it off then finally registered at 8 weeks lol. It was all fine, I had my booking appointment at 10wks and my scan at 12w 4d.

X

Florence13 · 24/04/2021 18:20

Sorry for the delay in replying more night shifts and really struggled to get up today after last night haha.

@2020mission I was 8 weeks by the time I contacted the midwife.

@Sausage1990 my scan is on Thursday so counting down. Glad you have got something from the GP and I would definitely take them and see how you go. Like you said it’s better for you to feel less nauseous and be able to eat some nutritious food than to continue with such sever nausea you can’t eat properly.

We have told both sets of parents after we had the early scan as just felt like we wanted them to know. Holding off telling others until after my scan this week, fingers crossed all will be well.

Minster2012 · 24/04/2021 21:48

@Justanothercyster ahhh yes that makes sense!

Busy day here so absent and now knackered but negotiated our first occasion with mates drinking & I def think I did my fake g&ts to perfection 🙌🏻

TTCAbroad · 25/04/2021 05:40

@Sausage1990 How did the medication work for you? Crossing my fingers that it gave you some relief.

Minster2012 · 25/04/2021 08:17

Morning ladies, I'm a bit worried this morning, I woke up and went to turn over, was slowly too, and had a big stabbing pain in my womb right hand side like stitch and a few times for about 5 mins I was wincing and saying ouch so much I woke DH up. I was clutching my tummy and now if feels really tender, like a pulled muscle? I'm hoping it is only a pulled muscle but I wasn't moving quick 😬

Justanothercyster · 25/04/2021 08:40

@Minster2012 it could well just be ligament pain or stretching, I wouldn't worry too much. I think it's fairly normal x

Minster2012 · 25/04/2021 09:35

@Justanothercyster I hope so 😫

2020mission · 25/04/2021 09:43

@Minster2012 the fact it happened when you moved would definitely make it more likely it's a muscle. Also if it's just tender now and you're not continuing to get sharp pain. I had similar pain last night but turned out to be trapped wind 😅 fun times

I got my 2-3 weeks on the CB digital yesterday so feeling a lot better about this pregnancy as I never got this with the chemicals. I think I'm 18 DPO so still very early though. That's 4 tests used now haha

2020mission · 25/04/2021 09:50

Nope 5 tests not 4 🤦‍♀️ I forgot I binned the other digital as the screen went blank!

@Sausage1990 hope your medicine is helping if you've had to take it this weekend?

TTCAbroad · 25/04/2021 09:51

@Minster2012 I get really similar pains if I turn over oddly or try and sit up quickly from laying flat on my back. Don’t know what causes it but I definitely think it’s a muscle thing. 11.5wks right now and all is well so it hasn’t adversely affected me at all.
