Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

@florence13 wwww Thursday!!! I'll be counting down with you hun 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@ttcabroad @2020mission yeah I had 1 tablet yesterday and it took a few hours to kick in but it definitely did give me some respite. I still felt sick the whole time but the intensity was quite alot less and I actually fancied some food which was a really nice change. I ended up having some ham salad with new potatoes for a late lunch & then some of my dad's ratatouille for a late dinner. I definitely needed to take a 2nd once later in the day but I didn't (just to see) and then I felt awful again before bed. I woke up feeling shocking again at 6am so I took 1 this morning at 7am and will probably take another about 3pm to last the day. I don't mind feeling crappy in the evening as I can go to bed, so we'll see how I go.

Sorry neither of you asked for the details haha but it was the 1st time in weeks I've actually fancied food and actually enjoyed something I was eating.

@minster2012 hope your pains havnt come back I agree thay it's probably nothing to worry about. Ive had a lot of pains some quite painful. It also may be bowel related pain because that's in a similar area so it can be difficult to differentiate.

Thank you ladies @Sausage1990, @TTCAbroad & @2020mission I really hope it's just growing pains and turning over, sure it is but you can't help worry!

@2020mission 💓🥳🙌🏻that's fantastic on the 2/3 weeks and getting further than before , I was going to do my last one tomorrow but not scared now

lucyrp · 25/04/2021 13:38

@Sausage1990 glad they're helping! I actually took 2 most of the time like you have said. One straight away in the morning or sometimes one when I woke up really early before going back to sleep then another mid afternoon before it ran out. Loving the new potatoes ! I'm obsessed with new potatoes and salad at the moment and OH is not impressed as we have that for tea most nights 🤪😂

Florence13 · 25/04/2021 14:20

@2020mission aww that’s fab news about the digital so happy for you.

@Minster2012 I’ve had pains like that when I’ve changed position to hun so try not to panic to much although much easier said than done.

@Sausage1990 aww thank you marking each day off the calendar. Glad the tablets helped and you managed some food hoping it gradually gets easier for you hun.

2020mission · 25/04/2021 14:56

@Minster2012 is your last a CB digital weeks? I'm going to use my last digital on Thursday and it should say 3+ 🤞 feeling a little more confident every day that passes... taking it slow. Reaching 12 weeks and getting a scan will be amazing. @Justanothercyster yours is tomorrow right? Excited for you!

@Sausage1990 haha always feel free to share what you're eating! Glad it's helping you eat even if it's not making you feel completely free of nausea.

Kirky658 · 25/04/2021 18:18

Hi ladies hope everyone is well, been to Wales for the weekend and climbed the Great Orme! Have done something to my ankle though so not impressed as it means no running for a while 😳 scan on Wednesday!!!!

Hopeful110 · 25/04/2021 18:44

Hey ladies, il jump aboard now! :) anyone here still got a poas addiction? I think after last months cp I'm so anxious about my tests getting darker! I'm literally testing every day atm...bangs head on wall for being silly but I can't help it, it feels like once I see the line still there and darker I feel abit more relaxed. Also with temping should I now stop? I'm 13dpo today and AF is due tomorrow or Tuesday. Once I get a 2-3wks like @sausage1990 il be happier, as il be further than my mc's xx

Are any of you going to book a private scan for viability or have you already? Xx

2020mission · 25/04/2021 19:10

Welcome @Hopeful110. I have tested every second day since my BFP on Monday 😅 I think hCG increases more every 48 hours so it's better to hold off a couple of days to see more of a change on tests. I got 2-3 weeks on a digital yesterday (17 DPO). Keeping my last digital until later this week and hopefully it will show 3+ and then I'm going to stop testing... although I have one FRER remaining so will use it too at some point haha.

I'm undecided on the early scan. The places near me charge £70 for it but I'm actually scared they might need to do it vaginally this early and I don't want them poking at my cervix and causing any problems/infections as they aren't hospitals and don't know what training they actually have 😬 I would love to know all is well but in theory the baby could stop growing the day after the early scan and also there's nothing you can do to change the outcome either way. So might just wait for the full NHS one 🤔

Anyone further along have any insights/experience on early private scans to share?

Justanothercyster · 25/04/2021 19:15

@2020mission aww yay for digi! When I had my scan at 7 weeks they did it abdominally and it was fine, I wanted to wait until then as you can see a heartbeat after 6 weeks. And my uterus is tilted which makes it more difficult, so I wouldn't think they'd do it vaginally x

@Hopeful110 welcome aboard 💕 I was testing everyday for a week after my bfp and then weekly haha.

@Minster2012 bean snuggling in and moving I'm sure x

@Sausage1990 glad you got some respite with the pill, so nice to be able to eat something.

Hopeful110 · 25/04/2021 19:24

@2020mission ahhh so we must be like 3 days apart sorta thing, when's your EDD?
yeah my tests seem to be darker every other day, so yeah I should probably just test every other day 🤦‍♀️ but you know what the poas addiction is like haha! I literally have 2 CB rapid ones, 1 cb digi, 1 cb digi with weeks, and 3 frers left lol plus a load of cheapie ones 🤦‍♀️🤣 don't think il run out haha!
But yeah I get what you mean, it's so hard to know what to do...although I do have a fetal doppler lol! So might wait until 7/8 weeks and see if I can hear the heartbeat then I won't be so crazy about the scan lol. I have a call with my gyne on 10th May which makes me 6 weeks and they don't know I'm pregnant so maybe they can arrange a scan? Or maybe not... who knows lol. I just know I can't wait to see a 3+ weeks like you 🌈

@Justanothercyster I might wait and see if I can hold out til atleast 8 weeks or whether I can last til 12 weeks lol xx

Sausage1990 · 25/04/2021 19:25

@hopeful110 lovely to see you here 💕 we've all been the same with frequent poas so you're in good company haha

With the weeks indicator tests try to wait a full week between the 2-3 weeks and 3+ tests because the hcg levels need to be quite a bit higher. I've attached the levels from the clearblue website so you can see. I don't want you to waste a test by doing it too early 👍🏻

@Sausage1990 ohhh wow thats a huge jump in hcg levels isn't it... blimey! I was gonna use the weeks one again on Friday which would be 18dpo, do you think it might reach the threshold,? Xx

Sausage1990 · 25/04/2021 19:47

@2020mission also my experience with early scans privately was a good one. Last time I went with Window to the Womb and before 8 weeks they do recommend and internal scan for accuracy but I asked for an abdominal scan because at the time I only had negative (painful) experience of internal scans so didn't want to have another one. They were happy enough to do it abdominally. The sonographer was properly qualified and had her qualifications on the wall in the room and there's a 2nd person in the room to as a shaparone & as like a 2nd option. It was all very hygienic and professional. 💕

OP posts:
Sausage1990 · 25/04/2021 19:52

@hopeful110 yeah it's a big jump. I did the 1st weeks indicator at 13dpo I got 2-3 weeks and 23dpo I got 3+. I did a weeks indicator somewhere in the mid of those two dates and it was still 2-3weeks and it stressed me a tiny bit... Thankfully I had 3 weeks indicators so it was OK but it would be a shame to waste one xx

OP posts:
Hopeful110 · 25/04/2021 19:58

@Sausage1990 ohh that's who I would book with, it's good to know they can do it abdominal instead of internal, I'd prefer that for sure. I've never had an ultrasound before 17 weeks so I'm not sure exactly when Is the best time to be actually able to see the heartbeat etc. Yeah I might order another weeks one and then use 1 on Friday and then the other when I'm 23dpo then :) haha xx

Kate105 · 25/04/2021 20:14

Nothing to add on the private scan front because our early scan was NHS thanks to previous ectopic, but I had mine at 7 weeks and they were able to do an abdominal scan no bother. They'd warned me that if they couldn't see anything they'd have to do the vaginal, but it was surprisingly clear just with the abdominal, heartbeat etc.

Glad you are feeling better @Sausage1990 they sound like miracle pills!

Anyone else watching Line of Duty??? I feel like I spend the whole of Sunday just waiting for 9pm 😂🙈

2020mission · 25/04/2021 20:16

@Hopeful110 around 29th December I think but I usually ovulate early like CD 10 or 11 so my LMP isn't going to be reliable date to count from. How about you? it's a mystery on whether it will be 2021 or 2022 😆

Yeah like @Sausage1990 suggested best to wait until after 21 DPO before trying for the 3+ result as 21 DPO is 3 weeks after ovulation/conception and that's what the 3+ indicates. That's why I waited until 17 DPO before trying for 2-3... had to be after 14 DPO but played it safe waiting a few extra days 😅

Thanks @Justanothercyster and @Sausage1990 for your scan experiences. I'm still not sure but I have time to think before deciding whether to book one.

2020mission · 25/04/2021 20:17

Thanks @Kate105. I'm waiting on LoD starting too haha so good!

Kirky658 · 25/04/2021 20:25

@hopeful110 welcome to the sidecar! ❤️*@2020mission* we had an early scan at 7 weeks with window to the womb and could not fault them. The clinic was spotless, the sonographer was lovely and clearly explained everything and I didn't get any discomfort at all during my TV scan. The have to do internally till I think it's 10 weeks as they can't see anything from the belly area, guess bub isn't big enough maybe then. But definitely recommend it, I was so scared and nervous but they were ace and it breaks up the time between BFP and 12 weeks scan. Xx

Minster2012 · 25/04/2021 20:49

@Florence13 thank you, I hope so, is it your scan this week? And @Kirky658 that's shitty on the ankle but great on the scan 🙌🏻

@Justanothercyster your scan tomorrow right? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🙌🏻

@2020mission yes my last clear blue is a weeks one, Cos I got the twin pack and the first said 2/3 weeks...I did the other last Sunday so in theory should have ticked over now (23dpo tomorrow) but I'm gonna leave it a couple more days I think. Trying not to stress myself 🤣, they would def do a scan at 7weeks abdominally & should see heartbeat etc easily

@Hopeful110 🙌🏻🙌🏻I'm going to book a scan definitely. But I'm hoping to leave it til week 8, and when I'm actually 8 weeks too as opposed to the midwives thinking I'm ahead based on LMP. So week starting 17th, and my booking appointment is on the 17th

Do they do bloods in the booking appointment?

Kirky658 · 25/04/2021 21:12

@minster2012 yep it sucks my ankle kills! Can't bend it properly, i drove part of the journey home today in agony. Yep bloods taken at booking appt to check your blood type, anemia, blood sugar, loads of other stuff as well think I had about 4 vials taken xx

Florence13 · 25/04/2021 21:30

@Kirky658 glad you got away but sorry to hear about your ankle, hope it recovers soon.

@Hopeful110 welcome to the bus and I had a private scan at 8 and a half weeks which personally really helped me.

@Minster2012 yes scan on Thursday so keeping everything crossed that all is well in there. Yes bloods were taken at booking appointment and a whole lot of paperwork.

DJmum83 · 25/04/2021 21:58
