Minster's Side car bumping along - TTC Graduates Bus 1

Sausage1990 · 24/03/2021 10:18

Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

That should have said high risk * not high today!

DJmum83 · 21/04/2021 22:38

@Kirky658 yes I'm going to get the other tests. I need to know one way or the other.

@SamoyedFan123 thank you.
I need to know one way or the other but I won't be terminating it's my baby and will be loved no matter what. Xxx

Kate105 · 22/04/2021 07:36

Hi all, sorry I've been quiet but I'm back to work and it is manic!

Really sorry @DJmum83 what a stressful time for you. As others have said, it's still a low chance. I always say, no point in worrying about it until it happens. Easier said than done I know, but for now it's out of your hands so just try and keep busy so that Monday comes quickly xxx

Minster2012 · 22/04/2021 08:59

Hi ladies, you don't know me, I'm new here 🥳

TTCAbroad · 22/04/2021 09:27

@Minster2012Cake Brew Welcome!

Sausage1990 · 22/04/2021 10:25

@DJmum83 I'm sorry youre having to go through this stress. Know that whatever the outcome is you're going to havea gorgeious baby either way. Noone wants to have a baby with downs syndrome as we all want our babies to have an easier journey in life however i dont know a single person who doesnt find completet and utter joy from having someone with downs syndrome in their life! You will smash this - no matter the outcome. And if you are needed some positiviy to help your headspace while youre in this limbo I'd highly recommend the Podcast Happy Mum, Happy Baby - the episode with Sally Phillips (19 Aug 2020). she has a son with downs and she speaks about it so so so well.

@Minster2012 WELCOME!!! So gorgous to have you with us! How are you feeling? has it sunk in yet?

Hope you're all doing okay. I'm nearly 8 weeks and feeling utterly shite haha the slug life continues but thankfully DH is a very good egg & is looking after me :) I had an awaful migraine yesterday which came out of the blue and all i could take was paracetamol which did bugger all so it waa a VERY long evening of a splitting headache to go with the crippling nausea Sad ... i am however feeling much better today headache wise.

@Minster2012 👋 good to see you've joined 😃

Thanks for the congrats/welcomes. Still feels too early though 😅 only about 16 DPO and no symptoms except for the odd mild cramps here and there but had the strongest FRER I've ever had before my period was late so it's definitely looking more positive so far than before 🤞

@Sausage1990 I thought you might not be feeling too good since you've been quiet. Glad to hear your heads better today at least. Was it about 6 weeks this kicked in? I'm feeling like I should be making the most of the next couple of weeks if so incase I reach 6 weeks and it starts for me! In a month you should be feeling more like yourself again though? 🤞

lucyrp · 22/04/2021 10:55

@Minster2012 yay ! Welcome aboard lovely lady 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Sausage1990 · 22/04/2021 11:05

@2020mission yeah it kicked in about 5 & a half weeks for me but really ramped up after 6 weeks. Technically my scan puts me at 7+3 but my dates put me at 8 weeks ok the dot today so I personally think I'm somewhere in the middle. So yes hopefully just another month and it'll start to ease.
Definitely make the most of not having the sickness, I had about 2 weeks between finding out and the nausea creeping in. Now I can't go more than an hr without having a small snack and 3hrs without a small meal, I'm eating mints like they're going out of fashion too. I've gone right off meat but can tolerate beige food OK. veg is 50/50 but fruit I've gone off. Its so wierd. Like why in earth does this happen?!
But great news about your free line development? Feel free to post photos of progression here 😊 we love line progression haha I think posted mine every few days to help keep me sane! Xx

2020mission · 22/04/2021 11:38

Yeah it's bizarre you could understand going off food that tends to be risky like meat but fruit you'd think not? I might post my next test to see what you all think of the progression but trying not to use one today for a break. I've got 2 digitals and 1 FRER left for testing. Saving the digitals for each week to check for '2-3' and then '3+'. Might use the second FRER tomorrow though. It must be tough to suddenly stop testing when you constantly just want to know it's still progressing 😅

Florence13 · 22/04/2021 11:49

@2020mission sorry I’m late to the party but welcome aboard!!

@Minster2012 yay!! Welcome and so glad to have you here!!!

@DJmum83 sorry to hear you are having such a stressful time, just reiterating what everyone else has said keep yourself busy hun until Monday. Can understand it will be difficult though.

@Sausage1990 sorry to hear your feeling rough but glad your being looked after.

SamoyedFan123 · 22/04/2021 12:00

@minster2012 - congrats lovely! You probably won't remember me but I think we were on an iVF thread together back in 2018 (I had a different username then), which is why I started lurking on the other thread 😂

@2020mission yaay for the line progression!

@Sausage1990 I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so rough - just keep in your head how worth it out will all be! That helped me through the worst if it 😊 weird on the fruit aversion though - fruit was one of the few things I could eat early on - especially tinned strawberries for some reason 🤔

Kirky658 · 22/04/2021 12:14

@minster2012 welcome aboard the side car 😘🤣❤️
@djmum83 completely understand I'd want to know either way as well so you can at least prepare yourself for the eventuality.
@sausage1990 God I lived on beige food for ages! 19 weeks now and I've just got to the point where I aren't constantly starving and snacking all the time 🤣

DJmum83 · 22/04/2021 12:34

Welcome aboard @Minster2012 lovely to have you.

Feeling ok today girls had a not bad sleep what will be will be.
I'm very lucky I have 3 healthy children and if this little precious baby has downs we will get through it xxx

2020mission · 22/04/2021 12:36

@DJmum83 glad you're feeling ok and keeping positive for now. The chances are all will be fine with baby but good to be prepared!

Justanothercyster · 22/04/2021 17:33

Oooh I love line progression photos @2020mission aww the digitals are so exciting, I wish the screen stayed showing the result though!

@Sausage1990 I hope the sickness passes soon, I'm still off most meat and certain foods/smells make me heave but MUCH better than I was. Was worst at 6-7 weeks, hated it.

@Minster2012 woop woop! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

@DJmum83 that's what I always think, regardless of anything it's your choice and your little miracle that you love dearly, hoping for the best of everything for you ❤️

2020mission · 22/04/2021 17:37

@Justanothercyster I know right? The first time I used a digital and looked the next day I was sad to see it was blank... I hadn't taken a photo either 😅 .

Justanothercyster · 22/04/2021 18:12

@2020mission aww no! I wasn't sure when I did it so documented all tests I took haha. I still have them all in the bathroom 🙊

Asthenia · 22/04/2021 18:36

Hi everyone, I’m hopping over from the TTC thread! My app puts me at 4 weeks 6 days pregnant today but I have/had a short luteal phase so tbh the whole date thing baffles me.
No symptoms yet except some cramping last weekend and a bit of brown discharge that I think may have been implantation?! And not much appetite but apart from that nothing. Kind of intrigued to get to 6 weeks and see what happens...

lucyrp · 22/04/2021 19:13

I still have all the tests I've done for this pregnancy too 🙈🙈

TickTockTee · 22/04/2021 19:20

Evening all. Been quiet for a while as we had to prepare for mediation with our local authority on my eldest's school place as he transfers to junior school in Sept. Fairly stressful but it's done now then started bleeding yesterday following a run 😓 Managed to get booked into the EPU tomorrow morning for a scan but just so worried it will be bad news again. Anyone got a hand to hold?

Kirky658 · 22/04/2021 20:09

@ticktocktee yay a fellow pregnant runner! Holding your hand babe. Apparently bleeding during pregnancy and exercise can be normal due to irritation of the cervix so hopefully it is just something very minor xx ❤️

Minster2012 · 22/04/2021 20:12

Heyyyy ladies and thank you 💓🥰I'm so pleased @Asthenia & @2020mission have hopped on too!

@SamoyedFan123 oh my god no way!! That's so cool! Hiya!!! So are we both on number 2 child then? 2 of my other friends from the ivf thread back in the day are also pregnant too as well, and all natural isn't it weird how things turn out!

Nothing much to report here symptom wise which is scary in itself, I did have cramps but they've gone now (also worrying!) and my boobs only slightly sore. EDD coming out basically around Xmas day so I'm saying that til I know more! Like @Asthenia it kind of baffles me so Xmas day is the date from LMP as that's what the midwives will use til they know otherwise I think

Thank you so much ladies 🤞🏻🙌🏻it's so amazing to (maybe) graduate!

TickTockTee · 22/04/2021 20:15

Thanks for the reassurance @Kirky658, I've always stopped before pregnancy but wanted to keep going this time, particularly now I'm older. Now panicking that I've pushed myself too hard 🤦‍♀️
