Minster's Side car bumping along - TTC Graduates Bus 1

Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

I am around but just been very busy as we have a moving date now! Also quite anxious about my scan in 10 days 😰 I'm just so terrified bub hasn't grown or something. I don't feel as nauseous which is great, still have some other symptoms but definitely calming down a bit, except for exhaustion 😴

Hope you're all ok x

lucyrp · 16/04/2021 19:55

@Kirky658 thanks I feel much more human now when I look in the mirror! Can't wait for my nails next week! Anyone else going to the hair dressers or anything !?

Florence13 · 16/04/2021 20:05

@lucyrp aww glad you have managed to sort the midwife unit out and your getting some pampering in.

@TTCAbroad @Thinkingandblinking so glad both of your scans went well.

@Clairey844 glad all is well, I had my booking appointment yesterday just waiting on a date for my 12 week scan.

SamoyedFan123 · 16/04/2021 20:11

Lovely news on the scans @TTCAbroad and @Thinkingandblinking 😊
@Clairey844 glad you enjoyed your 25 week appointment - it's so lovely to hear the heartbeat!
@Justanothercyster glad to hear that you're feeling less sick - 10 days to your scan will pass quickly - how many weeks will that be?
@lucyrp yes! I'm having a pedicure, facial and eyebrow wax tomorrow and cannot wait!

I had a growth scan yesterday which was all fine - baby is still huge but no further ahead than at my last scan at least! I'm booked in every 2 weeks now for scans due to not feeling proper movements. We put our deposit down on our new car today so I'm super excited!
Also, I had a covid vaccine invite today - my MW says that are now offering it to pregnant women but the NHS website still says they're not routinely so I'm confused - does anyone know of has anyone had it? (I really want it BTW, had it at 10 weeks pregnant and it was awful so I'm terrified of getting it again now in third trimester.)

Thinkingandblinking · 16/04/2021 20:14

I registered with midwifes and a few minutes after got a text message with link to letter and scan date, seems scarily super efficient..

@Florence13 how far along are you now? Are we about the same I’m 8+4

@Justanothercyster is that the 12 week scan?

Is anyone having baths?

Kirky658 · 16/04/2021 20:34

@justanothercyster yay on the moving date! When's the big day?
@lucyrp I had my hair done on Monday, luckily my hairdresser is a family friend who's a mobile hairdresser 😍
@samoyedfan123 did you go for the audi? I read about the vaccine today, I'm keen to have it as I've got asthma and it would be good to have it before the baby is born to give it antibodies too.
@thinkingandblinking that's very impressive and organised! I'm having baths again now, not too warm and it's been so lovely

lucyrp · 16/04/2021 20:44

@Florence13 thanks! Wish I could be off on mat leave already though 😴

@SamoyedFan123 yasss!! Can't wait for my nails next week 😍

@Kirky658 aw lush! I'm due to have mine done again at the end of may!

SamoyedFan123 · 16/04/2021 21:13

@kirky658 no we went with the landrover discovery!
Since I posted that i read the news about the vaccine advice changing today! That matches up wyth what the MW says this morning now, but my invite letter didn't say which vaccine it world be so still not 100% sure. I'm asthmatic too and really don't want Covid again so hope I can get the jab now.

Kirky658 · 16/04/2021 21:20

@samoyedfan123 I couldn't remember the other car you'd picked haha, baby brain! Yeah I'm gonna be a while till I get mine I reckon I'm 27 so going to be waiting for a while yet!

Florence13 · 16/04/2021 21:50

@Thinkingandblinking I’m 10+4 now.

lucyrp · 16/04/2021 22:12

For those of you talking about the vaccine news today a lady I'm on another thread with posted this

Those considering the vaccine, make sure you’re happy with what ‘no safety concerns’ means - it’s still early days, I’m not aware that anyone who has had the vaccine has completed a pregnancy to understand any outcome on baby. So it means at current point in follow up they have not identified any problems. Whilst this is really good news and will reassure those who have other health conditions and have had the vaccine, and tip the balance of risk for others, we’re each different so please make up your own mind

TTCAbroad · 16/04/2021 22:15

@Florence13 Is your site date November 9th? That’s mine! We must be within a day or two of each other!

Justanothercyster · 16/04/2021 22:25

@SamoyedFan123 I'll be 12+1 with my scan :)

@Thinkingandblinking yep 12 week scan. I've been having baths but not as warm as usual.

@Kirky658 the 1st! Stressful week but will be worth it 😱

Kirky658 · 17/04/2021 07:49

@lucyrp I know what you mean, it is a tricky decision. I think I'd like to have it on the basis that if I did get covid, I would become quite ill due to having asthma. Also DH works in a school so the risk is higher and it would be good to be on mat leave being able to enjoy things more. Agree on the numbers though apparently pfizer have tested it on 90,000 pregnant women with no adverse side effects which is a positive outcome. Will see what the midwife says!

So this morning we've got posh croissants and jam doughnuts for brekkie! DH went into town to the butchers yesterday and got us treats from the bakery as we are having a date day today!

Kate105 · 17/04/2021 08:09

I definitely want to get the vaccine when I'm offered it. With working in a school I think I've got a fairly high chance of catching COVID so would feel much better having had the jab! Also booked in for my whooping cough one in a few weeks, joys!

I had my first bath in a while recently but not a massive fan of the new temperature limit! I normally like my baths to completely scald me so this is (literally) a bit tepid for me! Can't wait for a scorching hot bath with a glass of wine 😂

Justanothercyster · 17/04/2021 08:49

@lucyrp @Kirky658 @Kate105 it's funny isn't it, you just don't want to be the guinea pig. I was offered a vaccine a few weeks ago being a teacher but actually turned it down because the midwife suggested there's too many unknowns at the moment. I just don't know tbh. I've spent so long trying to get to this point I don't want to risk anything I guess.

Thinkingandblinking · 17/04/2021 09:07

@Kate105 that’s what I want a hot bath with wine it would be lovely....not sure a tepid one is worth it, so will stick to shower for now!

lucyrp · 17/04/2021 10:09

@Kirky658 jealous of your date day! I had a day off yesterday but working my crap job again today but tomorrow OH and I are going to mamas and papas to look at baby stuff which is exciting 😁

On baths I normally nearly pass out whenever I get out of mine and I had one a couple of weeks ago and it was not nice because it was cold 😂

Florence13 · 17/04/2021 10:38

@TTCAbroad according to my early scan my due date is the 8th November ☺️

@lucyrp yes I think it is preference at the moment with the vaccine I had my first but have chose to delay my second dose until after I’ve had baby. Aww sounds like you have a lovely day planned for tomorrow.

@Kirky658 love a date day and that sounds lovely.

@Kate105 not sure I could cope with a cooler bath to be honest as also a fan of super hot baths and the glass of wine would also be lovely haha.

SamoyedFan123 · 17/04/2021 23:38

@Kirky658 I hope you enjoyed your date day! What did you do? I'm going to try speaking to my GP about my covid jab invite next week so will let you know if I get any useful information or if then! I was all set to have it then read a load of stuff on fb last night with people saying miscarriage rates are up by nearly 400% among pregnant women who have had it, and while I don't believe everything I read on the Internet it has planted a seed of doubt now.

I used to love a good scalding bath too, but I'm getting used to cooler ones now - just don't stay in them as long 😭
New car is all ordered today so just waiting for the delivery date now - I'm so excited - it's made up for not get to go pram shopping this time around 😂
Just had another monitoring session - the MWs has a shift change part way through so they forgot to come back and take me off the CTG machine and I was left hooked up to it for nearly two hours 😳 Bubs was having a good old dance around for most of the time though so very reassuring even though I can't feel much of it. Can't believe I'm hitting the third trimester this weekend.
Had my facial and pedicure today - OMG such an amazing relaxing two hours - the first in nearly two years since the twins were born I think 🤣🤣🤣
Hope everyone is so well/not too nauseous and enjoying the sunshine.

Kirky658 · 18/04/2021 07:35

@samoyedfan123 we had a nice brekkie then headed over to the peak district for a walk and a pub lunch, then came back and made 3 courses for dinner. Stuffed peppers, beef Wellington, and lemon cheesecake. Yummy!

On the vaccine - that article about miscarriages was completely debunked as fake news by the BBC as there's absolutely no evidence to support it. The RCOG say that it's advisable to wait till after your first trimester though. X

SamoyedFan123 · 18/04/2021 08:41

@kirky658 that day sounds like my idea of heaven (except for the beef Wellington as I'm a veggie 😂). Thanks for letting me know that about the vaccine story - I hadn't seen the actual articles just a load of people on FB basically saying that any pregnant woman would have the vaccine is basically a monster for putting her baby at risk - it actually upset me a bit 😭 I will try talking to the GP just for reassurance - I would prefer to have the pfizer one as per the advice at the moment but my invite letter didn't say which one I'll be offered so want to check on that. I will update you if I learn anything useful.

SamoyedFan123 · 18/04/2021 08:47

So this weekend my DH has treated me to a facial /pedicure pampering session yesterday, bought me a new car, and this morning has got the twins up and dressed and fed by himself and is currently making me breakfast in bed.... I'm starting to get worried about what he's done that I'm going to find out about soon.... 😳

Kate105 · 18/04/2021 09:05

Haaaaa @SamoyedFan123 I'd be exactly the same! 😂 thankfully OH is still furiously lambing so I've barely seen him. It's been bliss to get the house to myself!

Kirky658 · 18/04/2021 14:49

Freaking out a bit girls. We hiked through the peak district yesterday with doggo and had to go through a field with sheep and lambs in it. Didn't go anywhere near them as per the chats about it previously on this thread. I'm now worrying I've somehow come into contact with the nasties they can spread to pregnant ladies on my shoes or via the dog?! Someone help, scanxiety is driving me mental x
