Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

@djmum83 can totally and completely sympathise hun. Feeling a bit brighter today but yesterday was a down day. Doesn't help that I totally hate my job too and have to go back on Monday. Glad you are speaking to the midwife though. I agree with you about Easter, as DH is a teacher we always have time off together and go and holiday somewhere so it's been so hard not to! We live about 90 mins from North Wales coast and I said to him yesterday I just wanna go for a drive and eat fish and chips on the beach! Xx

DJmum83 · 08/04/2021 20:05

@Kirky658 I just said same to hubby I just want a day away with the kids, picnic fun change of scenery.
All we have seen is our houses for a year now. Set us free please.
Xx

Kirky658 · 09/04/2021 14:00

@djmum83 definitely. My parents have a caravan in North Wales which they can go to next week so I'm going to ask them if DH and I can go for a weekend when they're not going, just for a break!

@sausage1990 how are you doing?

lucyrp · 09/04/2021 14:22

@Kirky658 we've got a holiday booked for 3 nights in a caravan in Pembrokeshire in 70 days time and I can't wait 🤪x

Kirky658 · 09/04/2021 20:10

@lucyrp ahhh that sounds wonderful! We've booked 2 nights at the venue where we got married as a treat 3rd and 4th June so excited for that.

I've just been silly and laid very very briefly on my bump to apply the stickers to the wall in the nursery and now I am panicking because my tummy is a bit sore. DH says to take it easy and sit down for a bit and see if it settles, I was also stretching a lot so I wonder if that could be a factor. I guess post 16 weeks I can ring the MAU?

lucyrp · 09/04/2021 20:13

@Kirky658 I lie on my bump most days briefly but I found it increases the blood flow to my face and causes my face to go all purple/red and have a hot flush. I had to use an ice pack last night to cool my face down, stretching is probably why it hurts as I can't stretch like I used to in the morning otherwise I get like an elastic band twanging feeling and its horrible and painful

Kirky658 · 09/04/2021 20:17

@lucyrp that's good to know, thanks hun. Now I am sitting down it has calmed down a bit. I was standing on a stool and stretching up to help DH smooth the stickers out. Wished I hadn't now but hindsight is a wonderful thing. X

Justanothercyster · 09/04/2021 21:27

Does anyone have any tips for not sleeping in your back? It's my only comfy position at night and I know it's not good for the second trimester onwards.

@Kirky658 I'm sure bump is ok, they're fairly durable x

Jealous about these getaways!

Kirky658 · 09/04/2021 21:30

@justanothercyster thanks lovely, it has settled down now I'm resting. The only way I found to stop sleeping on my back is I got a niimo pregnancy pillow and I basically wrap one leg under it, one on top, and snuggle it to me, that stops me rolling over as I'm all snug haha x

lucyrp · 09/04/2021 21:57

@Justanothercyster you're fine if you wake up on your back but they just say not to fall asleep on your back. It's because your brain knows you shouldn't sleep that way for long anyway so you'll Toss and turn etc on your own. I still keep waking up oj my back throughout the night now at nearly 22 weeks x

TickTockTee · 09/04/2021 23:13

Would it be OK to join the group? I found the other bus thread on the conception boards but managed to convince myself I was about fall pregnant each month and didn't work up the nerve to actually join Blush
Bit of background, I had a still birth at 36 weeks and a miscarriage in 2012 followed by my 2 boys so my anxiety has always been high in pregnancy. We've been trying since last June and miscarried again in November. Fingers crossed that this is a sticky bean x

Sausage1990 · 10/04/2021 08:34

Hi ladies. Sorry I've been MIA again this week. I have been trying to keep up every few days but replying has been a challenge. My colleagues was off work again this week so I've been so busy it's unreal. I've been feeling very frazzled and spend most evenings trying to chill out and reduce my anxiety & try to look after myself and my little pomegranate seed 💕

I'm doing okay tho. Nausea is here but not as bad as last time. On & off all day, sometimes it's better after food, sometimes it's worse, sometimes it makes so difference haha. I've had some cramps too, like a few of your were chatting about this week... But I had it last time too so I know it's just the uterus changing 😊

Loving the thought of time away @lucyrp @kirky685 @DJmum83... My parents & sister took the Foster girls to West Wales this week and they sent me so many gorgeous photos, I had a serious case of FOMO. But my in laws have a caravan in Oxwich Bay near Swansea so once we're past the 1st trimester I think we'll go for a weekend to get away 💕

I'm sorry to see that you've been struggling with your mental health @DJmum83 @kirky685... Anxiety in pregnancy is hard, please know we're here to talk and make sure you're reaching out for the right support. Proud of you @DJmum83** for asking for more support 💕

@florence13 I'm so glad you're scan went well lady week too, so crazy that you're a few weeks head but super exciting!!!

@samoyedfan123 how are things with you and baby? Hope baby's been behaving and not causing you too much anxiety 🤞🏻

@ticktocktee welcome to the side car!!! I'm sorry to hear you've had a rough journey to starting & growing your family. As you may know, we've all had mixed experiences here too so you're in good company.... So - tell us a little about you... How many weeks are you now? When did you get your BFP? How old are your sons? Xx

@TickTockTee hi there! Welcome to the sidecar. Sounds like a really bumpy ride you have been through but each pregnancy is a new beginning and all we can do is take it one day at a time! We got ya if you need to vent or just share your lows and highs!

Thinkingandblinking · 10/04/2021 08:38

@Sausage1990 have you actually been sick? Worried I haven’t been sick....mine builds through the afternoon, feel fine in the morning so a bit confused and freaked out!! Smile

Justanothercyster · 10/04/2021 08:52

Thanks @lucyrp and @Kirky658 sleeping on my back is the only way I can fall asleep and stay asleep so I'll need to look into a pillow I think, don't want to be pushing on that vein they all warn you about 😧

@TickTockTee welcome :) sorry about your awful experiences 💔 how many weeks are you now?

@Sausage1990 sorry about the nausea :( it really sucks but all good signs for your little bub. Will you get an early scan? Thankfully this week my nausea seems to have calmed down loads, hoping it stays that way 🙌🏼

@Thinkingandblinking I had similar to you, mornings were actually ok but evenings were worse. Never once actually sick but could have been had I not held it in 😂

Justanothercyster · 10/04/2021 08:54

Oh also, I emailed the midwife team as I still haven't had my booking apt through or any letter with a time on like they said. They obviously forgot I existed and said they'd call sometime this weekend. I have to say, so far my experience of midwives hasn't been great 😒 I know they're working hard though...

Kate105 · 10/04/2021 08:57

Welcome @TickTockTee and congratulations! I did the same as you- I'd been lurking on the TTC board for ages and was about to join when I got pregnant... This isn't quite as fast and furious either so a bit easier to keep up with!

@Justanothercyster I am also a back sleeper but I'm getting round it with a bolster pillow behind me while I sleep on my side. I lean back against it so my back still feels nice and supported. I can't wait to be flat on my back again!

Not much to report here although it's been a week since I've felt sick at all so I'm hoping I am DONE with the morning sickness! Bump has really popped too, which I am loving, and I think I felt some movement yesterday 🥰

Sausage1990 · 10/04/2021 09:15

@thinkingandblinking no I've not been sick. I do have had a few moments where Ive retched a little but usually to do with a smell hitting me badly. I don't really understand why it's not so bad this time tho.
@justanothercyster yeah nausea isn't ideal and I'm assuming it will get worse as I get past the 7 week mark but it's more than managable atm... Which is kinda what I don't understand... I didn't think 2 pregnancies could be so different. Last time I was so so nauseated 24/7, could bearly face any food, I lost like half a stone even tho all I ate was Crisps, chips, biscuits & croissants.

@justanothercyster I'm glad your nausea is settling now tho that's great news. But not great about the rubbishy midwives 😕 hopefully they'll get their act together and once you're officially on the books your experiences with them will improve 🤞🏻 Yes ive got an early scan with EPU in Tuesday at 10.30am and I'm putting my head in rhw sand and not thinking too much about it until then as I'm trying to not get onto a panic lol... Fingers crossed it will all be OK tho.

@kate105 I'm glad your sickness seems to have settled too, and you've come out the other side with your bump too! How gorgeous. Random question, how do you know if you feel baby moving ? What does it feel like? Is it obvious?

OP posts:
Kate105 · 10/04/2021 09:27

@Sausage1990 it's a really weird feeling! Sort of like I'm being tickled from the inside? I've only had it a couple of times over the last day or so, usually later on in the evening when I've been sitting down for a while and am quite still. I reckon I probably miss other occasions if I'm moving around! But it's definitely not gas... I've had plenty of that too so I am an expert on that one 😂😂😂

Justanothercyster · 10/04/2021 09:44

@Sausage1990 I think I jinxed it saying that now as I feel so sick 🤢🙄
I'm sure the scan will be fine, exciting! Pregnancies can be so different tbh x

TakeYourFinalPosition · 10/04/2021 10:16

Can I join? I don’t know if I’m in the right place... but I got my first ever positive this morning. I think. I’m still stunned to be honest. I haven’t even told DH yet... I’m in a daze.

Justanothercyster · 10/04/2021 10:25

@TakeYourFinalPosition hey :) how many dpo are you? If you get a strong positive? How long have you been ttc for? Congrats 🎉 😁

TakeYourFinalPosition · 10/04/2021 10:47

@Justanothercyster Hi Smile 12 dpo today... I was sure my period was coming. I’ve attached the test... I’m not sure if it’s strong?!

We’ve been trying for six months this month... we took this month “off”, as it was really getting to me.

I just feel stunned! I don’t know whether to go get a Clearblue?!

@kate105 ohhh so it's like a tickley feeling 🤔 Gosh I can't even image it... Tbh I can't imagine getting past the 1st trimester yet, but can't wait to feel it.

Question, to anyone who's experienced pregnancy loss but never got past the 1st trimester, do you struggle to even imagine getting past the 1st trimester? I want it so desperately and I'm cautiously optimistic but I can't even imagine it. And I'm a bit afraid to go there... Is that normal? Or is that something everyone experiences regardless of pregnancy loss?

Welcome to the side car @takeyourfinalposition! That test looks really good for 12dpo 👍🏻 I think as long as the tests are sensative you'll get a positive on it 😊

@justanothercyster haha oh no! That's just bloody sods law isn't it, hope you feel somewhat better. My nausea is so wierd, I don't feel too bad, just slightly queasy and think I'll have food and I fancied avocado on toast so I slice the avocado and just gagged. I just started dry retching 🙈 so the avocado got left on the side and I had 2 small breakfast brioche rolls instead. Pregnancy nausea is so wierd. X
