Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

Ohh that's interesting @samoyedfan123 that they're still not doing the full glucose tolerance test. If I were you I might ask for it given that babys belly is large for dates. The reason for that is you cna have a normal fasting but an elevated 2hr reading. That way what you eat will have a big impact on nlood glucose levels and baby's growth. We have ladies who have normal fasting but elevated 2hrs and it suggests that tour body is capable of coping over night with the natural glucose from your liver but it can't manage so well with the good you're eating in the day (which doesn't mean you eat unhealthy food just needs some adjustments) and that might be the case for you. We missed a few ladies at the usual 28 week mark with just a fasting only to pick them up towards to 32-34 week mark with big babies and glucose in their urine sample. Not to scare you or anything just to give you knowledge. If it was me I'd be asking for a full glucose tolerance test... So something worth thinking about. They definitely can do it if it's clinically indicated. X

@SamoyedFan123 thanks, that's what they said to me but just wanted to check incase it had changed as I will need the time off of work x

SamoyedFan123 · 02/04/2021 21:51

@Sausage1990 oh that's interesting - i had heard the single blood test kind was less accurate but didn't know why. I'm currently on the maternity ward waiting for monitoring again because of zero movements (again!) and several episodes of sharp stabbing pains this afternoon which is why I rang the MW again really. I'm sick of bothering them at this point 🙄

Sausage1990 · 02/04/2021 21:57

Thank you for the cake love!!!

After all that time making it I didn't even eat any of it as I've gone completely off sweet foods, I'm all about the savory atm unless it's grapes or digestive biscuits.

@thinkingandblinking aww hun I'm sorry you've had a wobbly day. It's so hard isn't it. I'm trying so hard to not think the worst but sometimes it's so hard. Feel the emotions, have a good cry and a chat with DH, and get a good night sleep if you can. Tomorrow is a new day & will be a better day 💕🌈

@lucyrp yes I have my viability scan in 11days time on the 13th. I'll be just shy of 7weeks and then the nurse said they can book me in for another scan around 9weeks as that's when baby stopped growing last time, so this will give me the piece of mind I need. I can't go over 5 weeks without knowing. And i don't want to pay private because of last time. Thankfully they so supportive, I'm very grateful for that.
My friend is expecting her 2nd and has popped so soon this time too so it must be because your body has done it before and is like "ohhh I remember this - POP!!!" 😂😂

@kirky685 I can't wait to start looking for maternity clothes.. I'd imagine dresses and leggings are good for the I between phase. Snag tights are great for strech too and they accommodate for baby bumps🤰🏻

@justanothercyster ohh that's a shame about the rest of the family coming over too. But totally get not wanting to tell everyone yet. Are you meeting them at their house or are you meeting them where you're going for a walk? Because you could go early to give it to them? Or maybe at the end of the walk give it to them once the siblings have gone home??
We're not quite sure how to tell my parents as we don't want the Foster girls to know yet (they're only 5yr & 8yrs so definitely don't want them to know) so we thought maybe after bedtime but the one really struggles with bedtime so sometimes it can be 10pm before mam's done with bedtime. So I think we might have to wait until really late to tell them... I love the egg idea tho! Brilliant!!! I wish I'd thought of it actually, very creative 🐣

@kirky685 haha I'm sure you could do it if you practiced. I'm just self taught over the last 10 ish years.... It is a massive faff tho. I love it to start but I get to the end and I'm desperate to finish - although I'm usually proud of the finished product, I just need a loooong break from cake making now lol

@samoyedfan123 ohhh poor thing. At least they're keeping an eye on you and baby. Keep us posted on how things are going, sending positive vibes & lots of love xx

MW on the mat ward struggling to find HB so now I'm having to wait for an emergency scan 😭

DJmum83 · 02/04/2021 23:00

@SamoyedFan123 hope everything ok. I'm sure it will be and baby in an awkward position. Sending lots of love xx

Sausage1990 · 02/04/2021 23:17

Well that was scary - got moved into a private room and they had someone stay with me until a scanning machine was brought up and a registrar found to do the scan - was pretty terrified by the time she arrived but thankfully all was well and baby was just hiding from the dopplers! On the plus side they've said I'm going to get scanned every 2 weeks from now on which is a bonus, and they confirmed the GD test was totally normal so they're not worried about that anymore 😊

Sorry I haven't kept up with the chat very well this afternoon, but for those looking for maternity clothes I found last time that H&M have a decent selection at very reasonable prices (I'm recycling most of them now 😂).

It's been a roller coaster this evening and I'm shattered now so heading to bed, night all xxx

Sausage1990 · 03/04/2021 00:10

@samoyedfan123 what a huge relief. I didn't realise I was holding my breath for you. Thank goodness baby is okay and definitely good news about the GD & having regular scans from now on... This little one is definitely keeping you on your toes 🙈 definitely get some rest, you certainly need it after tonight.

Also I was eyeing up H&M last time but I wasnt sure what they're maternity wear was like curvier ladies. Plus size maternity wear is tricky... If anyone has any recommendations for future reference please share 👍🏻

Oh my goodness @SamoyedFan123 glad you're ok! What a stressful evening for you...

Thanks for the tip @Clairey844 but couldn't get it to work with my work trousers because all of them have clips rather than buttons 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ however it's a moot point now, I think by the time I'm back to work in a fortnight it'll be too late for that! I'm hoping anyway, would be nice to look actually pregnant rather than just a bit chunky!

Sausage1990 · 03/04/2021 08:51

Well ladies that me officially done with testing. I got my 3+ weeks on my clearblue which has reassured me that things are progressing as they should be so far 👍🏻💕 let's keep everything crossed for a good scan in 10days time 🤞🏻🌈

I've got a good day today... I'm collecting my new glasses from specsavers & its my gorgeous niece's 2nd birthday today, so we're going over for a garden tea party... Its dinosaur themes and she's very excited bless her. Oh an we're telling them about baby too!!! All in all a good day xx

OP posts:
Justanothercyster · 03/04/2021 09:13

@Sausage1990 they've got a little one in their car with them (another nephew) so we don't want him to know. Blehhhh so annoying. Maybe we can distract him for a bit and do it. We're going for a walk in the new forest :)
And yay for 3+! That's when I stopped poas too haha.

@SamoyedFan123 omg I'm glad everything is ok! Sending hugs x

Justanothercyster · 03/04/2021 10:36

And of course I feel super sick today 🤢 this walk is going to be fun 😞 hope everyone has a nice Saturday x

Sausage1990 · 03/04/2021 10:50

Awww @justanothercyster of course you feel sick today of all days 🙈 I hope you're able to share your news with them in some way today 🤞🏻💕

Yeah 3+ feels like a good end point for me too. I mean if they carried on telling you 4+, 5+, 6+ I think I'd still pee on those sticks hahaha but as they don't I'll settle for 3+ 🤣🤣🤣

OP posts:
SamoyedFan123 · 03/04/2021 11:46

@Sausage1990 yaay for 3+! It always feels good to see that little milestone doesn't it? Enjoy your niece's birthday party - that's so cool that she wanted a dinosaur theme - I really hope my little girl is into things like that because I just hate dolls and dressing up for stuff! 😂 Hopefully having a twin brother will help lol.

@Justanothercyster your walk sounds lovely - I hope you feel well enough to enjoy it and get to share your news. When my MS w has I found getting it for a gentle walk in the fresh air helped a bit (also taking a couple of sweet lollipops to suck on).

I threw up whilst cleaning my teeth this morning for the first time in weeks 😳 thought I was done with that part now!

lucyrp · 03/04/2021 12:40

@Sausage1990 aww thays so good for you I'm so happy! Yes that's what I feel like I've just gone POP😂 glad you've got a lovely day planned!

@SamoyedFan123 hope you and baby are ok!

DJmum83 · 03/04/2021 18:14

Kirky658 · 03/04/2021 19:46

@samoyedfan123 so glad you're OK.
@sausage1990 great news on the testing, time to enjoy now
@djmum83 yayyyy Congrats x

Kate105 · 04/04/2021 08:12

Ahhhh @DJmum83 lovely! 🥰

Justanothercyster · 04/04/2021 09:38

We did get to share our news in the end @Sausage1990 @SamoyedFan123 as his sister turned up slightly later and we sent the nephew off with our dog for a bit. They were so happy 🥰 showed them my little video of the early scan we got and bubs heartbeat which was nice.

Absolutely killed me though that walk! Literally EVERYTHING seems to make me gag at the moment and because it was quite a long walk my back keeps going into spasm now 🥴

@DJmum83 aww lovely scan ❤️

Kirky658 · 04/04/2021 16:20

@justanothercyster glad you got to share your news, that's lovely ♥️

KateColx · 04/04/2021 18:44

Hi lovelies,

Thought I'd have a scroll through MN and came across this thread ☺️ just wanted to pop in to say hello and how lovely it is to see so many of you from the TTC thread on here 😍

Hope you're all doing okay and enjoying your Easter weekends 💛

lucyrp · 04/04/2021 19:20

@KateColx heyy🙋🏼‍♀️🥰💛

Justanothercyster · 04/04/2021 19:25

@Kirky658 thanks :) only told dh's parents. I want to tell my dad but my family are really bad at keeping secrets, so he'd tell my Nan who would tell anyone she comes into contact with 😂 will wait until the scan to tell mine!

@KateColx hey! Not long for you now is it? Loving the pics on Instagram x
