Minster's Side car bumping along - TTC Graduates Bus 1

Hello ladies,
So I thought I'd put together a new thread for us (as you've probably seen in the main group). I thought this could be like a sub group (or side car as Haiyaa suggested) so we can chat about all things pregnancy without feeling that maybe we're overwhelming the TTC board.

I definitely don't want to leave the main bus and I know you all feel the same as we've created a amazing community of women supporting women... most people have said their ok with pregnancy chat but I know some are struggling with it and the shift in proportion of TTC vs BFPs, and we all know how hard it is to see too much pregnancy talk sometimes, especially if the journey has been long, as it has been for some. So I thought, lets be sensative to everyone's needs and have another option Flowers

I'm cautious about setting up a bus given I'm so so early but as I suggested it, I thought it best come from me Smile I am happy to set up the threads but I dont have a great urge to be the bus driver (haha) so if anyone else wants to chip in setting up subseqeunt buses then I'd be happy yo share the responsibility!

Please tag anyone that I may have missed - I tried to go through the board to get any recent BFPs but I could have missed someone easily and theres ALOT haha.

Let's have a little update on everyone to get started...

Hello @florence13 I had to constantly chase my midwife when I got to about 6 weeks as my gp surgery clearly didn't know how to arrange it!

@ttcabroad jetwashing is so satisfying! It was a new jetwash machine we had bought too so like a new toy lol. In terms of mental health, just a persistent not feeling happy really and struggling to find the time to do everything. I spoke to DH about it last night and it seems to be my job that's causing it all as I'm still covering for another department that's not my job and it's incredibly stressful. Just feel very drained constantly. I am off from tomorrow till the 12th but we have so much to do that's also making me worry! Things are never easy are they. Also I spend most of my time napping now 😂 I start work in 10 mins and just had an hour on the sofa!

Florence13 · 31/03/2021 09:35

@TTCAbroad so sorry to hear your suffering with tiredness so badly I hope you start to feel less tired soon.

@Kirky658 oh thanks for that hun, will start chasing in a week or two then if I haven’t heard anything.

lucyrp · 31/03/2021 12:09

@Florence13 @Kate105 @SamoyedFan123 thanks girls I'm in a bit of a post scan happy bubble now 🥰 no idea where they've got their long legs from though as both me and OH are only around 5'6"🤣

@Gem176 my reasoning behind not finding out is I'm obviously happy whichever sex but I am more inclined to want w girl. If I found out it was a boy 20 weeks before they're born it gives me time to be sad about it or whatever where as if I've just gone through how many hours of labour to birth them I won't mind whether its a girl or a boy as il love them so much and they'll be here already. Does that make sense ?🙈🥰

lucyrp · 31/03/2021 12:12

@Florence13 where I live its nothing to do with the doctors you just ring and book yourself in with the midwives so I rang at 5 weeks and made an appointment for my booking in which was at 7 weeks ☺️

@TTCAbroad I know rather comical isn't it considering their other hand was behind their head 😂 proper chilled out and posy baby, nice compared to the 12 week scan where they were so awkward!

Justanothercyster · 31/03/2021 13:05

@Florence13 I had an initial apt at the weekend where they took bloods etc, but they haven't given me a date for the booking apt where I can ask questions and discuss everything, hopefully soon! If you're worried I'd phone your gp.

Does anyone know how close the the 12 week scan the date letter normally comes through?

lucyrp · 31/03/2021 13:10

@Justanothercyster some people get their 12 week scans booked for them at their booking appointment but I didn't and was getting really impatient on waiting for my letter. It didn't arrive until 9 days before the scan 😅

Florence13 · 31/03/2021 14:14

@lucyrp aww good for you, I cannot wait to be in a happy post scan bubble all doesn’t really feel that real yet.

@Justanothercyster ok thank you.

Justanothercyster · 31/03/2021 16:33

Oh how funny, it literally just came through the door haha. 26th April 💕

DJmum83 · 31/03/2021 19:41

Hi everyone

Today not been a great day sickness is back and I have zero energy.
I'm in bed and my lovely husband is putting the 3 kids to bed.
I was just saying to hubby how I feel like my scan is ages away.
Came home and he has booked me a private scan this weekend as a wee Easter treat so excited, hope everything is still ok.

How's everyone else?

@Kirky658 hope your feeling ok today xx

Kirky658 · 31/03/2021 19:45

@djmum83 exciting about the private scan! I'm doing OK thanks hun, had a nice chilled evening with hubby now having a brewdog nanny state and watching the footie! 16 week appt in the morning I'm a bit nervy for some reason x

lucyrp · 31/03/2021 19:51

Had a lovely evening with OH sat in the garden eating tea, making the most of the warmth and light evenings. Had a maternity dress delivered today and its so comfy 😍

Florence13 · 31/03/2021 20:07

@Justanothercyster yay for your scan appointment coming through how exciting!

@DJmum83 sorry to hear your sickness is back and your not feeling well but how lovely that you OH has booked you a private scan.

@lucyrp aww that sounds like a lovely evening and oh where is your maternity dress from?

Kate105 · 31/03/2021 20:31

I feel you @DJmum83 my sickness was nowhere near as bad as yours yet I had a surprise vom this morning after about 2 weeks off. Really thought I was off the hook by now!

However, in more important news, my midwife appointment has been rearranged! 🙌🏻 So Cinderella CAN see the midwife and have nice hair! Day made! 😂

SamoyedFan123 · 31/03/2021 20:32

Evening ladies, just catching up as I haven't had a chance to check in all day - apologies if I miss anyone!

@Justanothercyster glad you got your scan appointment sorted - that's one less thing to worry about.

@lucyrp maternity clothes are the best, they're so comfy. Sounds like a fab evening

@Kirky658 enjoy your appointment tomorrow - no need to be nervous they won't do much but you might get to hear a HB if you're lucky (they won't all do it at 16 weeks).

@DJmum83 I'm sorry to hear you're feeling rough again. How lovely that your DH is looking after you so well though - so sweet of him to surprise you with a scan booking! Mine would never think of that 😂

I've had a rubbish day - had my 25 week MW appointment this morning. Got referred for an urgent scan because I'm so feeling barely any movements (up until now they've told me not to worry about it, it's just because I have an anterior placenta, but today they seemed quite worried). Got my scan which showed a healthy but huge baby measuring over 27 weeks. Then I had to wait almost 2 hours for a scan review because the clinic were short of midwives and now they've brought my gestational diabetes test forward to tomorrow morning in case that's what causing it. They're also considering a referral to fetal medicine because of the poor movements so I'm a bit stressed out about it all tonight. Seriously worried about the prospect of having to give birth to a toddler now, or even worse, having to have another c section 😭

Haiyaa · 01/04/2021 07:04

Morning everyone!

Lovely to hear from you @TTCAbroad, that first trimester tiredness sucks doesn’t it?! I suppose I have another week or two before it starts kicking my arse, and with work and a toddler I am going to be toast!

Good luck with your 16 week appointment @Kirky658, I’m sure it will be fine. Let us know how you get on!

Try not to worry @SamoyedFan123, a planned section is very different to an emergency. Mine was so chilled out and positive. Not at all a what I had expected.

What a fab DH you have @DJmum83, enjoy your scan this weekend, what a treat!

God I am so desperate for a hair appointment @Kate105! Need a colour too, hopefully they have a safe one they can use!

How are things with you @Florence13 and @Sausage1990? I’m going to book in at the end of next week I think. We can do a direct referral on the local hospital website can you do the same?

Haiyaa · 01/04/2021 07:06

@SamoyedFan123 my DD was 11lb1oz and shoulder wedged into my pelvis so no way that was coming out the business end!

Kirky658 · 01/04/2021 10:46

Morning ladies, all good for my 16 week check. Got to listen to the heartbeat which was amazing ❤️ sounded like a train!!

DJmum83 · 01/04/2021 11:18

Morning everyone feeling much better today.
Double shift today' then holiday for 10 days.
So excited for my scan on Saturday.
And being off with the kids.

@Kirky658 great news so glad all went ok. Love hearing the heartbeat.

@SamoyedFan123 try not to worry easier said than done, I'm sure everything will be ok. I know a section isn't what you want, but it might be better this time. Hope the diabetes test goes ok. All my babies were big. Last one was 9.5 pounds xx

@lucyrp can't wait for better weather here and sitting outside. I have ordered some maternity clothes.

@Florence13 how are you feeling? Any sickness/ tiredness yet?

@Haiyaa 11 pounds Omg I thought my 9 pounder was big he was the biggest baby in special baby unit. All these wee 2 pounders and there was my big 9 pounder. Did you have a section?

@Justanothercyster how are you feeling?

@Sausage1990 @Kate105 @TTCAbroad @Gem176 @Clairey844 @Thinkingandblinking
Sorry if I have missed anyone how are you all doing?
What stage is everybody at?
Sorry if I have missed updates.

Have a good day everyone xxx

Florence13 · 01/04/2021 12:32

@Kirky658 glad all went well with your appointment and how lovely you got to hear the heartbeat.

@Haiyaa I’m alright thank you hun although symptoms are kicking in. I have to go through my gp unfortunately cannot do a direct referral which is a bit annoying as my doctors are not the most proactive.

@SamoyedFan123 sorry to hear you had such a rough day yesterday but hopefully it isn’t anything to much to worry about and it will all even out as your pregnancy progresses. But at least they are being thorough with it all.

@DJmum83 the nausea is real and I’ve vomited a couple of times and the tiredness is kicking my ass. How are you feeling?

Justanothercyster · 01/04/2021 15:45

@DJmum83 sorry the sickness is back :( that's lovely of him! Enjoy :)
I'm ok today, just exhausted 😴 2 weeks off now though so I can feel crap in peace haha.

@Florence13 I know! I'm glad it's sooner rather than later.

@Kate105 yay! Did a letter come through for it? Now trying to work out how long that'll take.

@SamoyedFan123 definitely, just have to keep sane for the next 3 weeks! Sorry it's all worrisome, not what you need right now. I'm sure everything will be ok x

@Kirky658 aww little train heartbeat 💕

Kate105 · 01/04/2021 15:56

@Justanothercyster cheers to two weeks off! 🙌🏻 although so gutted I can't celebrate with a glass of wine... I'm gasping! I just phoned the midwives to sort, I only get letters about my scans from the hospital.

Hope everyone is doing ok!

SamoyedFan123 · 01/04/2021 16:16

@Haiyaa thanks - 11lb! That's even bigger than I was at a chunky ten and a half pounds 😂 I'm terrified of any type of c section tbh after the last one, and can't imagine how I'd look after two toddlers by myself during the recovery 😳 most hair dyes are safe to use in pregnancy - just avoid ammonia ones. My hair went white at the age of 23 so I've dyed ever since and continued to do it throughout both pregnancies!

@Kirky658 that's lush that you got to listen to the HB ❤️ glad it all went well.

@DJmum83 glad you're feeling better today!

@florence13 sorry you're being hit by the vomiting and fatigue - it really is hard. How far along are you now?

@Kate105 yaay for the hairdresser appointment! I'm in Wales so was able to get it done a couple of weeks ago 😊

Had my GD blood test this morning so just waiting on results now 🤞they've also come back to me and said policies have changed so now they don't refer to fetal medicine for lack of movement anymore - I just have to go into MAU every day for monitoring if necessary as long as it continues! Pretty much impossible with twin toddlers that aren't allowed to go in with me and DH in work 10-11 hours per day 😳

Kirky658 · 01/04/2021 16:31

@kate105 @justanothercyster happy 2 weeks off teacher ladies ❤️ waiting for DH to get home as he will also be so relieved he's got 1 weeks off. Shame he is spending most of it decorating 🤣

Justanothercyster · 01/04/2021 17:45

@Kate105 I'm not much of a drinker so having Chinese instead 😁 assuming I can stomach it -.- ah maybe I should get on to them then. Not really sure how I would contact them though 🤔 is it the antenatal clinic? Pregnancy needs to come with a step by step guide for each area 😂

@Kirky658 paaaaartayyy! Bless he will be knackered haha

Thinkingandblinking · 01/04/2021 17:56

Just brief check in! All steady, tiredness has hit but not really sickness just some hunger pains, bit worried not feeling more sick but defo feel washed out!

@Kirky658 I love a nanny state! Glad appointment went well!

@SamoyedFan123 I had Gestational Diabetes with my DS and was told he was big...he was 5lb in the end! So don’t think they always get it spot on...

@Justanothercyster mention of a Chinese has made me so hungry could eat some ribs now...
