@AdriannaP
@ComebackQueen

I think it's just us at the moment (sorry if I forgot anyone) but hoping that more and more of us will be joining soon!
I figured it would be nice to stay in touch here too, throughout the exciting yet nerve-wracking next stages! 💞

How are you getting on? 🙂

@primrosechill Forgot to reply to your question about my due date approaching. The truth is I feel a mixture of excitement and anxiety! I don't think my brain has fully comprehended that I will have a baby in a couple of weeks. I've been nesting a lot and keeping myself busy which helps the anxiety and promotes the excitement. But now I'm running out of steam so it's mostly napping and eating! The third trimester insomnia is crazy, I wake up at 3 or 4 am -my personal record is 2:30 🥇 and I can't go back to sleep!
But I don't want to scare you, it truly is a magical time! ✨💖

Well, that's my C-section booked for… 🥁 🥁 🥁 next Thursday 30th September!!
I had a scan yesterday that confirmed my girl is complete breech! She has also jumped from below 50th centile to about 75th, I was so proud of her! 🥰 Apparently she also has a full head of hair, which would explain the heartburn!
I spoke with the consultant after the scan, they offered me an ECV (where they try to turn the baby from the outside) which I declined and then she booked me in for the section. I'll be 38+6.
I can't believe it's so soon now! 💕

@eloiseislost wow that is so soon but I’m so happy that she’s almost here and you’ll get to see her very very soon, full head of hair and all!

Excellent news that she’s put on weight too!

September baby as well, I take it your due date was around 7/8 October?

Enjoy these next few days and I look forward to seeing the birth announcement soon! Yay!

eloiseislost · 21/09/2021 19:44

@ComebackQueen Yes, she was due 8th October! I was hoping they'd book me after 39+ weeks which is the recommended time, but they are fully booked! Busy time for babies apparently. I hope a single day won't make a huge difference! 🙂

@eloiseislost wow, so exciting to have a date in the diary for when you'll get to know your little one! You must be in the very last prep stages now, just getting ready? I think it's completely normal that it also feels so surreal - we spend so much time trying to get pregnant, and then you wobble around with a belly for 9 months - it's weird to think that stage is over and parenthood is just around the corner 🥰

Overall my pregnancy has been quite smooth sailing for now, thank you for asking! I'm starting to feel some of that insomnia that you mentioned already - struggling to sleep through the night, getting in and out of sleep and waking up with leg cramps. But other than that, it's all good. My husband felt her kick for the first time today 😭😭 she is getting rather loud in there haha, just lying on my bed right now seeing my belly jump up and down like jelly.

@ComebackQueen how are you these days? How's everyone else doing? xxx

ComebackQueen · 23/09/2021 13:12

@primrosechill good to hear your pregnancy is going well, long may that continue!

I’ve been ok now that baby has shown two growths on the same 10th percentile. Still need monitoring and constantly counting movements when not at hospital LOL but I’m just praying all goes well and in a couple of weeks I can have my little man in my arms.

Btw is anyone suffering from nightmares? I keep feeling like someone’s behind me trying to get me but I can move and I feel like I can’t shout for help but, I obviously am, as last night my husband literally had to shake me as he could hear my screams of me asking my Dad (who’s been gone almost three years) to help me.

He was quite concerned as he said it sounded like I was genuinely in distress.

I’ve never in my life had this feeling before pregnancy where I can’t move.

primrosechill · 28/09/2021 07:52

@ComebackQueen funny you should ask, YES I have been having the weirdest dreams, and often nightmares, recently. I dreamt that my husband got poisoned and then the next time that I saw a plane explode in the sky 🤯 (the second one was in mid Sept and might have been a result of watching too many 9/11 documentaries though 😆 ). Very strange what pregnancy hormones can do to our nighttime viewings.

I'm feeling exceptionally rested today because I slept all the way through the night - without waking up to full bladder or leg cramps - for the first time in over a week woop woop.

@eloiseislost I can't believe it's only two days until your C Section (I hate the name, I heard someone call it a "tummy birth" instead which I thought was cute 🥰)!! Will be thinking about you this Thursday. ❤️

ComebackQueen · 28/09/2021 18:32

@primrosechill haha glad to know I’m not the only one. Pregnancy hormones are so strange, but it’ll so be worth it.

Glad you’re getting some rest, third trimester it is awful trying to sleep.

Especially when you’re in nesting mode whilst functioning on an hours sleep.

@eloiseislost good luck for Thursday, sending you peaceful and positive vibes.

Hope all lovely ladies are doing well.

I’ve just got back from the hospital via taxi as no fuel in NW London and our car has not even a drop of juice left.

I was charged £52 each way for the pleasure of going to St Mary’s. (Combo of covid and danger money taking on a booking not going local).

CTG scan was normal, but my mucus plug is starting to come away, showed the midwives in day assessment (gross I know but I wore a panty liner). Not concerned they said as it’ll regenerate (like Dr Who) as it’s still too early for me to go into Labour and I’m still following 10th percentile so I’m happy.

Bluey18 · 29/09/2021 10:29

Just want to wish you the very best of luck for tomorrow @eloiseislost

How exciting to know you'll have your daughter with you so soon 💕.

Bizawit · 29/09/2021 11:24

Omg I stopped getting notifications for this thread and missed all this 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️.

@AdriannaP HUGE congratulations 🎉. What a difficult journey you have had but such a happy ending. Couldn’t be more thrilled for you. Hope you are enjoying (surviving) your new arrival ❤️❤️😄.

@eloiseislost oh my gosh I can’t believe you are booked to deliver TOMORROW!!! Wishing you all the best xxxx

eloiseislost · 29/09/2021 16:02

Thanks so much lovely ladies, for all you wishes and positive thoughts! ❤️❤️❤️
I can't quite believe that I'm hours away from meeting my baby now! 🌈💞
Any advice from second/third time mums about the c-section? 😬

Get your playlist ready ☺️☺️🥰. Do you go in first thing in the morning?

Makingnumber2 · 29/09/2021 17:28

Hi ladies- gosh there's been lots of exciting things happening on here! My notifications stopped hence why I haven't been on in such a while.

Firstly- BIG congratulations @AdriannaP on birth of your beautiful boy!! Hope your DD is loving being a big sister already and that you've all been enjoying those special early days as a family of 4.

Secondly wishing you all the luck in the world for tomorrow @eloiseislost!! That is just so exciting- I bet you cannot wait for tomorrow morning to arrive. Can't wait to hear the news of baby's safe arrival :)

So many of you so close to the end now- it's wonderful and I can't wait to hear of many more new arrivals in the coming months.
I'm 27 weeks, feeling 3 times bigger than I was with DD at this stage yet still eating for England some days Grin this boy definitely has an appetite!

@ComebackQueen that is so weird you should mention it but yes I have had a really horrible sleep experience very recently- think it's what would be called sleep paralysis. Someone grabbed me from behind/above- couldn't see who it was and I was struggling in my dream, then I came too- awake and could see the wardrobes in our room etc. but couldn't move my arms or legs at all for a good minute. It was really horrible. I also had a lot of bad heart palpitations throughout the rest of the night which I've read is common in pregnancy when sleeping a lot on your left side (as the advice to pregnant women suggests you do!). I've never experienced anything like it and really wouldn't want to again. It must be hormone driven! Haven't had it again since so far- hope you don't either.

I'm working from home from mid October which I'm partly looking foiward to as I'm so tired all the time, but partly dreading because when I was WFH in the pandemic I got such horrible headaches and back/neck ache from sitting in front of screen all day. Small price to pay though I guess for hopefully dodging covid in 3rd tri!

eloiseislost · 29/09/2021 17:55

@Bizawit Yes, they told us to be there for 7am! Hoping I'll have a straightforward 9am section. 🤞🏼

@Makingnumber2 So good to hear from you!! ❤️ My girl also has an appetite, I'm ready to get my body back and go back to eating the things I like without worrying about heartburn! 😄

Lovely to hear from you @Makingnumber2! Glad all is well. And 27 weeks!! We are all so far along now. ☺️

Thinking of you @eloiseislost! Smile

eloiseislost · 30/09/2021 16:06

Thank you everyone for thinking of me today!
Iona Maria came into this world today at 11:15 weighing 6lbs 14oz.
She's just had her first meal and she's settled for a wee nap! 💕
I'm quite sore from the operation but so, so incredibly happy! 🌈

Aww she is just beautiful @eloiseislost, congratulations 🎊 💕💕💕 . What a lovely name too 😊. Make sure to take good care of yourself xx.

AdriannaP · 01/10/2021 04:33

Congratulations @eloiseislost so thrilled for you and DH! 🥳🥰💕💖 can’t believe we both have our little babies now. Take good care, the first days are hard and hope your recovery goes well. Enjoy the baby cuddles!!

Thank you @Makingnumber2 great to hear you nearly reached the 3rd trimester! I found my 3rd trimester really tough this time but it’s all worth it of course. My DD loves her baby brother and it’s been lovely to have a newborn again. So far he is a good sleeper too 🤞🏻🤞🏻 All the best for the rest of your pregnancy. WFH will make a huge difference too!

Makingnumber2 · 01/10/2021 08:10

Oh @eloiseislost she is precious! Congratulations to you and DH! I love the name 🥰 hope you have some good pain relief to manage soreness and hope you had a good first night.
@AdriannaP great to hear baby has been settling in well and that your DD has taken to her big sister role so well too!! 😊

ComebackQueen · 01/10/2021 15:06

@eloiseislost OMG what a precious, gorgeous little beaut! Congratulations to you and your family, so thrilled she has arrived safely, what a stunning name too.

All the best with your recovery from the C-section. Hopefully the arnica tablets help alongside lots of painkillers.

Remembermee · 01/10/2021 16:04

Oh my goodness congratulations @eloiseislost!!

I haven't posted much here but I do keep an eye on the posts as they help me.
I'm nearly 29 weeks now and humongous! My C Section is booked for the 1st Dec. I am scared! And I am worrying about the babies when they get here too. I guess I just feel overwhelmed.

It's reassuring to see everyone's progress though.

Bizawit · 02/10/2021 22:52

Congratulations @eloiseislost!!! What a gorgeous baby girl. ❤️❤️ Enjoy the newborn cuddles 🥰🥰🥰

@Remembermee lovely to hear from you and that your babies are still doing well 🥰🥰. My friend just went through a twin pregnancy and found it completely brutal. But her babies are so worth it now they’ve arrived. Not long to go now!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

ComebackQueen · 05/10/2021 02:27

Hi ladies

My waters broke and I ended up having an emergency c section, my son was born Monday 4th October. Earlier than planned so was freaked out but all went well with the section.

We welcomes a piddly little thing but so beautiful, he is needing some extra care and attention but in the right place.

A moan though about the midwives when I was put on the main ward after recovery.

Didn’t give me pain relief after my operation and didn’t answer my bell when I pressed it as I was in excruciating pain, tried to walk to midwife station and pulled on scar so now burning and just been given morphine which hasn’t stopped the burning, only the pain.

I need to walk to see my son as well, anyone with some advice on how to deal with the unresponsive midwives?

Also, what does the burning signify?
