@ComebackQueen

I think it's just us at the moment (sorry if I forgot anyone) but hoping that more and more of us will be joining soon!
I figured it would be nice to stay in touch here too, throughout the exciting yet nerve-wracking next stages! 💞

How are you getting on? 🙂

Thanks @Makingnumber2

Oh and, I’ll definitely update with my CTG and FMU appointments this week.

Today I managed to sleep during the day for two hours.

Always had issues sleeping as I was all but an insomniac before pregnancy.

First trimester I slept most of the time but second and now third I barely get more than three hours kip.

Being off work has helped, I no longer have to force myself to stay awake.

Only woke up because of the doorbell as I was on the sofa and nodded off.

I know eating a lot won’t help baby weight but today I’ve forced myself to eat after taking my zofran.

Had scrambled eggs and beans for breakfast with a glass of pure OJ.
Had a glass of chocolate milk an hour after.

Had strawberries and cherries as a mid morning snack.
Vomited it all up though as I was late taking my lunch time tablet as I slept and as soon as I woke up the flood gates opened LOL.

I have managed to have a three bean lentil salad and a pack of disco crisps and a no added sugar lemon and mint fizzy pop for lunch.

I have chicken noodle soup on the stove currently and then eating a lasagna for evening.

If I am being honest I’m forcing myself to eat as I don’t actually feel hungry but the husband is watching me like a hawk and I know last few weeks I have slacked on eating and would even lie to my husband saying I’ve eaten when I hadn’t.

Hi ladies a quick update

I have to do twice weekly CTGs, all vitals on scan besides baby’s stomach came back normal but my heart rate is very high which is affecting baby’s heart rate.

They’re not overly concerned at this rate but I’ll be doing CTG x2 a week and weekly growth scans.

I’ll update more thoroughly once spoken to the doctor. But the initial debrief is the above.

I’ll be able to go home today so that’s a good sign.

eloiseislost · 19/08/2021 16:09

@ComebackQueen Oh I'm sorry, I missed all that! How stressful this whole thing must be for you! Sending hugs and positive thoughts! 🤗
How far along are you now?
It sounds like you and your little boy are getting good and thorough care -they just want to be cautious. Easier said than done, but try to relax and let the team of professionals make sure that your baby will be absolutely fine. It's not unheard of baby's development to follow odd patterns anyway, fluctuations on the centile scales are all too common.
You will be in my thoughts, keep us up to date. 💙

How are you getting on @ComebackQueen? I’ve just noticed the reply I posted to you after your last post didn’t actually post!
Hope you’ve been able to stay at home other than heading in for your twice weekly CTGs

AdriannaP · 05/09/2021 07:26

Sorry I have not been here for ages. New job and difficult pregnancy kept me busy. I truly hope you are all well and your pregnancies are going well. I am 37 weeks now, bags are packed! I have 3 weeks to have the baby or will be induced in week 40’due to my history. Thrilled to have my baby with me soon but also can’t quite believe it yet and the journey we have all been on. Lots of love to you all.

eloiseislost · 05/09/2021 11:01

@AdriannaP So glad to hear from you! I can't believe you're full term already, I'm just 2 weeks behind you! My baby was still breech at the 34-week midwife check so keeping everything crossed she turns for the 37-week check! 🤞🏼
Sending lots of love, I hope you deliver your beautiful rainbow safely! 🌈 ❤️

@ComebackQueen I hope everything is OK with you and baby boy! 💙

Thank you! Hope baby turns for you @eloiseislost! Have you got a yoga ball to bounce on?
I am so over being pregnant 😅 baby constantly moves at night, I have reflux every night and just generally so exhausted. I hope I can get baby out before the induction but for next week just focusing on finishing work (4 more working days 😅).

eloiseislost · 05/09/2021 11:28

@AdriannaP Yeap, I am bouncing on the yoga ball every evening while watching TV -much to my husbands entertainment! 😅
I'm kind of done being pregnant too, the movements have become so forceful as she is running out of space! Plus the vivid dreams at night and the sheer efforts it takes to turn to the other side!! 4 working days left for me too, then 4 weeks of annual leave, then mat leave!!!! 😃

@AdriannaP lovey to hear from you. Congratulations on reaching term 💕💕💗.
And @eloiseislost only two weeks behind 😍😍😭. Totes emosh.

@ComebackQueen I hope you are ok? Thinking of you ❤️.

I had a scan last week at 28 weeks (extra monitoring due to previous preeclampsia). Baby was estimated at 2 lbs 7, sitting pretty in breech (🙄) position, sucking her thumb..

eloiseislost · 05/09/2021 17:37

Hi @Bizawit 👋🏼 So glad baby is doing well! It's very common for babies to be breech at 28 weeks, still lots of space to toss and turn! Mine had her ankles behind her ears on the 28-week growth scan, I was secretly very proud of her! 🤣 How are you feeling?

OP posts:
ComebackQueen · 05/09/2021 17:37

Hi ladies

Sorry I just realised I didn’t come back to update.

Had a second growth scan and we are now at 10th percentile - we were below that two weeks ago. Placenta has had high resistance in the past but the Doppler and scans all shown within range. It was picked up recently I’ve got a UTI infection so I’ve been feeling like absolute crap.

The consultant still couldn’t give me a definite answer to why the baby dropped down the percentile charts.
Only thing they said steady growth following 10th percentile is what we want to keep the baby at.
I’m actually only doing growth scans fortnightly now but CTG scans twice weekly, if baby continues to grow ill stay under monitoring. I might be on steroid injections soon though in case we are looking at getting baby out before 37 weeks if growth slows again.

If I’m being honest I still don’t know what the hell is going on. FMU don’t seem as concerned as they did when I was referred because 10th percentile is still considered normal. In fact I got the distinct impression they shouldn’t be involved, my husband even thought it was all rather normal and upbeat considering the ramifications when I got whisked to day assessment and hooked up to all these machines.

Also, my c section request was granted (I asked for this a couple of weeks back before this all kicked off) and consultant said chances are if baby is to be delivered early, it would have been via C section anyway because small babies even if healthy, their lungs and heart won’t be able to endure a long drawn out birth especially as I wanted to do an early epidural.

Thank you all for thinking of me, I’ll update on 14th which is my next scan date.

So lovely to hear @AdriannaP you’re almost at the finish line and @eloiseislost you’re also not far behind.

I hope everyone else’s pregnancy is progressing well and prayers to everyone on here that all goes well and we will all have our little ones in our arms soon enough xx

eloiseislost · 05/09/2021 21:12

@ComebackQueen So good to hear from you, you've been in my thoughts! 😘
All this sounds very positive, maybe the baby had a growth spurt at some point and then slowed down, but 10th centile is absolutely fine! It's good that they are monitoring you both though. Fingers crossed baby boy will grow steadily from now on! 💙
Great news about the CS, must be such a relief for you! I might end up having one too, due to baby being breech. Not long now till all those babies are here, what a journey we've all had! 🤗

Has anyone else not done much in the nursery? I have organised the wardrobe, that's my biggest achievement and it took forever! But because we have the cot and the changing table in our bedroom, the rest of the room just looks like dumping ground for baby stuff at the moment! 😄 Plus we are in a new build so no decorating for another 6-12 months while the walls dry. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@eloiseislost looks like you have done it all 😅 for my DC I didn’t have a nursery until she was about 6 months old and this DC doesn’t have one either so I think you are good to go!

@Bizawit thank you! Hope your pregnancy is going well too. My baby turned after 28 weeks so there is still some hope!

Bluey18 · 06/09/2021 17:01

Ah @AdriannaP, you are so close to the finish line, ahhhh! So exciting!! Eloise, your nursery is fab Grin. Baby boy does not have a nursery here as we will be moving house. He currently has a crib shoved in our room and his clothes are in storage boxes, oops.

@ComebackQueen, been thinking of you and so glad to hear your update, that sounds positive. I'm glad they have approved your c-section, that must be a weight off.

@Bizawit I hope your little miss moves for you soon, still plenty of time and room to go yet, they say most babies will turn by 36 weeks.

30+4 here and so over pregnancy. Still nauseous, have really bad heartburn and I've developed PGP again so even standing hurts. Just 9 and a half weeks to go! Baby has also been stubbornly breech for a good few weeks now and I've no interest in asking for an ECV (probably wouldn't get one anyway with a previous EMCS) so I may end up with another c-section. I've been looking at the spinning babies website at some of their videos which you can try after 32 weeks, apparently it can help convince baby to turn. Not sure, but might be worth a go!

Sending you all hugs and love xxx

ComebackQueen · 14/09/2021 11:55

Hi ladies

I had my scan at 8am today - I’m still on 10th percentile as 2 weeks before although the .xx has dropped slightly and slightly high resistance in placenta which I had very early on at the abnormalities scan.

Did a ctg assessment straight after, all fine and now on my way home.

I will know in 2 weeks at next appointment if baby has dropped below 10th we will be having him early, based on what we were told by day assessment today per doctor as placenta is showing resistance. The plan usually for smaller babies is always get them to as close as 37 weeks but we shall see. As a precaution I’m going to order baby nappies for premmies and tiny baby clothes along with baby formula as baby could be here before my due date!

@eloiseislost wow your nursery is impressive and I’m now going to use you as inspo for sorting my little ones room out. It’ll also distract me from googling and getting upset lol!

Oh and, can anyone suggest baby boy names for me please? Husband and I are stumped and family aren’t being helpful, telling me to name him after my husband 😂

I like Latin and/or biblical names but nothing really jumps out or the ones I like have been taken by family already.

Any suggestions on names would be greatly appreciated!

eloiseislost · 14/09/2021 14:11

@ComebackQueen It's good that he's following the 10th centile curve and it sounds like you're both getting very good care. I'm sure everything will be fine! 🙂

I'm not great with boys names but here are some of my favourites, they have a mixture of Scottish/Greek/Latin roots:
-Alexander
-Charlie
-Oscar
-Hector
-Christian
-Alistair
-Apollo
-Ares
-William
-Titan
-Skye

ComebackQueen · 16/09/2021 12:29

@eloiseislost my husband and I are liking Oscar, that could be it!

Thank you so much.

Went for my monitoring this morning on CTG and all OK.

I’m now going to go get a few buckets to do all the hand washing of the tiny baby clothes we have picked up.

I am avoiding machine washing until a new machine arrives for the store room now. Husband plays football so our main machine I don’t trust even though we run a a clean cycle.

Instead I convinced the husband to swallow the cost and get a cheap machine for the store room. In fact that’s now becoming a laundry room as since we moved we didn’t really know what to do with that space besides use it to store our bulk buy items.

Has anyone heard from @AdriannaP I think she’s close to 40 weeks now?

eloiseislost · 17/09/2021 16:47

@ComebackQueen Oscar is a lovely name, I'm glad you like it and happy I could help! 🙂
I see you're properly nesting!! I'm the same, getting the house ready for the baby when I should just be putting my feet up.

I'm full term today!!!!!!
But the baby is still breech according to the midwife, she referred me for a presentation scan on Monday to confirm. If that's indeed the case, I will have a c-section in about 2 weeks! 😬
I'm feeling a bit low about it, to be honest. I don't mind the section so much, but I feel like I failed my baby by not giving her space to turn the right way around. I know how silly that sounds, but I'm very emotional about it.

Hi all, we had a beautiful baby boy yesterday. Born at 38 plus 5, a few days before the planned sweep. Birth went ok, so glad I went for an epidural this time! Waters broke at home in the bed, so get mattress protectors from Boots ladies :-)

Needless to say I think he is the most beautiful baby boy ever and can’t wait for big DS to meet him. So grateful our painful journey has ended with a beautiful baby and wish you all all the best for the next weeks and months.

Absolutely bloody fantastic!!! Congratulations on your new bundle of joy and blessings to you and the family.

I am so glad birth went well, enjoy this special time with your little one and I bet your son is so excited to meet his little brother.

@eloiseislost wow you’re now term! Fingers crossed the little one turns around before Monday, if not, don’t be hard on yourself, baby will always do what the baby wants to, we should bear that in mind when it comes to them being teenager LOL.

At least with a C section you’ll know the date she will arrive and I know recovery is more slower than normal birth but my mums told me to try arnica two days before section C and then regularly post C for a month. It helps with bruising and aids recovery. That could be just a placebo effect but many people swear by it and she gave that to my aunt when she had her hysterectomy and my aunt claims it was a miracle.

Bluey18 · 18/09/2021 11:07

Congratulations @AdriannaP, so happy to hear that your precious little boy has arrived safely 💙. Hope you and your family are enjoying lots of cuddles xxx

@eloiseislost I'm sorry to hear baby girl is breech. She could still turn, my friend's baby turned in labour 🙈. But if not, I have never heard of any of my friends regretting their ELCS, they all said it was a calm and positive experience xx. I had an emergency one with DD (due to baby's position which was not picked up and I was already in labour 24 hours at that point, she wasn't budging!). It was a shock and disappointing at first and once I'd recovered, I was completely at peace with it since I had baby in my arms! I'll keep everything crossed for your scan xx

primrosechill · 19/09/2021 09:12

Hi all! @AdriannaP congratulations on your baby boy! Glad to hear that the birth went okay and that epidural helped 🥰 Yay, can't believe we have a first arrival in this group!

@eloiseislost hoping the little bubba turns for you but as someone else said on here: Babies will do what babies want to do, and you should absolutely not add any additional pressure on yourself - you will get this girl out one way or another and I'm sure she will be the best thing you've ever seen! How are you feeling about your due date approaching in general? Just excited or nervous too?

I'm exactly 24w today - time does seem to be speeding up now. All recent scans were comppetely fine and I can feel her move around so much now, it's so surreal. Sending lots of love to you all - will be watching out for more birth announcements soon! C

AdriannaP · 19/09/2021 11:58

Thank you all. It’s so beautiful to have my long awaited rainbow baby at home. We are so happy to have him. 🥰🥰🌈💙 best of luck to you all and I can highly recommend epidurals. 😅

eloiseislost · 19/09/2021 19:33

@AdriannaP Congratulations on the safe arrival of your beautiful rainbow! 💙🌈
I'm so glad you finally have your baby in your arms, you've been through a lot but it sounds like your wee boy has made it all worth it. 🙂

@ComebackQueen Thanks for the arnica tip, it's a good one! Funny enough, my cat had abdominal surgery a couple of years ago and the vet said arnica works miracles on wounds and it really was a miracle! If it works for my cat, it works for me! 😅 I feel much better about it now, I just want her in my arms safely, nothing else matters. 💖

@primrosechill Good to hear from you! And 24 weeks, that's the viability milestone!!! 🥳🎉💓
Time really goes fly after the 20-week scan, there are less worries and uncertainty. How exciting! Has your pregnancy been OK in general?
