Congrats @BaaHumbugg !

@reimah thinking of you, hope you're feeling ok. Definitely get in touch with someone x

amylee1817 · 23/04/2021 16:38

@BaaHumbugg amazing news ❤️ congratulations x

BaaHumbugg · 24/04/2021 13:39

@amylee1817 are you still waiting? Sorry can't keep up with thread!

MsHedgehog · 24/04/2021 13:43

@amylee1817 The baby blues are a period about a week to two weeks after you have the baby where your emotions may be all over the place due to the hormones after giving birth. You may feel more upset or stressed or tired. I had one day where I cried all day long!

The important thing to note is that by two weeks after the birth, the baby blues should settle. Anything that lasts longer might be a sign of post natal depression so it’s important to keep an eye on that.

amylee1817 · 24/04/2021 15:57

@MsHedgehog thanks for explaining!

@BaaHumbugg yep 😢 40+4.

Also.. how weird is this. My mum got a memory pop up on Facebook - she was 4 days overdue with my sister on this same day 10 years ago!

BaaHumbugg · 24/04/2021 19:37

Oh bless you I hope it happens soon for you! I was so frustrated at the end!

Mumto3andexpectingagain · 24/04/2021 22:32

Hey ladies, just checking in. Hope everyone is doing well with their babies and those without get to meet theirs soon. X

amylee1817 · 26/04/2021 09:50

How is everyone? Who is still waiting? Smile

BaaHumbugg · 26/04/2021 15:41

All good @amylee1817 have you had any signs yet?

coffeecow · 26/04/2021 16:20

I haven't really posted on here before but I've been watching! Huge congratulations to all who have had their babies. I'm still waiting. Today is my due date and I've had some cramps on and off since yesterday and some bleeding (old blood it seems). Nothing else happening yet.

How fast did people go from feeling their baby had moved very low to labour starting? I definitely feel like baby has moved further down in the last couple of days.

amylee1817 · 26/04/2021 16:46

@BaaHumbugg I've been having hicks for about 5 days and losing my plug every day! But not much else. I feel like I'm going to end up being induced x

rainbow95 · 26/04/2021 18:38

How is everyone doing who has had their baby? After one week I'm still in quite a lot of pain and swelling down below (had a 2nd degree tear). This is my first baby so I wasnt really aware about pain after birth. I was hoping to go for a little walk soon but I think I'll struggle.

Babo993 · 27/04/2021 08:03

Hi ladies! Was finally induced on Friday and gave birth to to my beautiful little girl Esmè on Saturday April 24th at 10.20pm.

Definitely was not the kind of birth I was expecting! Woke up at 4.30am at 41 weeks with contractions so went in for my induction at 8am. They gave me the pessary and said I was still 1cm dilated even through I'd been contracting for 8 hours at this point! I contracted for 14 hours after the pessary , had an examination and I was only 2/3cm dilated so they removed it as I was in a lot of pain, moved me to a delivery room and gave me an epidural. I was contracting quite regularly at this point so they let me go on in hopes I'd progress, another 6 hours later, I hadn't dilated any further so they put me on the hormone drip. Epidural failed twice, my legs got so numb I couldn't move so had help rolling over to avoid sores, when rolled onto my left side, all the feeling came back down that side with the right remaining numb. Doctor gave me a stronger dose of epidural and I was numbed on my left side again but could still feel and move my leg but no contractions. Rolled onto the left again and I got all the feeling back again. Doctor came back with the stronger dose of epidural but it didn't work, just numbed my left leg but I still felt pain. I was 6 cm by this point and started feeling cold and a bit delirious and constantly falling asleep. Started pushing at 10 pm April 24th and by 10.20 my LO was here, I also had a torn artery (2nd degree tear). She was getting stressed in the womb and her heart was slowing down every time I pushed and she passed meconium in me. Turns out my odd symptoms from earlier was from a infection I had developed during labour which they picked up on when I have a fever of over 38 degrees! Had to stay in hospital for 2 days and got home yesterday!

Sorry for the long post, so much happened over the weekend and in all honesty I'm feeling a bit traumatised from it! I'm glad she's here and safe now though! How's everyone else hanging in?

BaaHumbugg · 28/04/2021 14:07

Congrats @babo993 that sounds a lot like my first birth! Hope you are feeling okay.

@rainbow95 I had a tear last time and this time too, in my experience it is an uncomfortable dragging feeling but it does get better with time, remember to keep on top of the pain medication for it as it is easy to forget. If it's unbearably painful I would speak to someone about it.

@amylee1817 hope you are finally in labour!

amylee1817 · 30/04/2021 18:42

Finally had my little boy Finlee James yesterday morning via emergency c-section!

In lots of pain still but he is so worth it.

Hope everyone and their babies are well Daffodil

rainbow95 · 02/05/2021 13:25

Congratulations @amylee1817 FlowersDaffodil

Flappityflippers1 · 02/05/2021 13:59

Congratulations @amylee1817 Flowers

How is everyone getting on? We’ve had a right struggle with breastfeeding&pumping recently, and Ollie has been unbearably fussy and screaming constantly. Had support from the bfing team yesterday and they think I have thrush and/or mastitis (which would explain so much!) hoping to be able to get a same day GP appt on Tuesday to get swabs done etc. Also have a little bit of my scar which stubbornly won’t heal, so need GP to take a look at that also. Aside from his constant screaming, Ollie is doing great and packing on the weight. He’s started playing with his play mat now and smiling 😍😍

Hope everyone abs the babies are well 😊

BaaHumbugg · 02/05/2021 15:56

@amylee1817 congratulations!

Hope everyone is doing well, I forgot how tiring this stage is!

amylee1817 · 04/05/2021 12:51

@Flappityflippers1 Fin struggled to latch on with me so we didn't end up breast feeding!

When did you have your section? I had mine on Thursday morning and I'm still in quite a lot of pain! X

Inkpaperstars · 05/05/2021 17:55

I am so behind! Big congratulations to @BaaHumbugg @amylee1817 @MinnieWebs @bunhead34 @SunnySideUp2020 @rainbow95 @TheViewOutsideMyWindow @1sttimemumtobe2021 and @Babo993!
Welcome to all your little ones and hope you are all doing well x

I must admit we have not had the smoothest of starts, not complaining though. We have had tongue tie diagnosed a bit late and associated jaundice and milk supply issues. Still trying to tip balance back in favour of breastmilk but hard to do. Now we have tummy troubles and reflux issues too which are so sad to see, it’s just horrible to see our LO struggling. I just want her first months to be as nice as they can be for her and so far she has had some challenges. I wish I had more experience so I could help her more, but am seeking help to do so.

@Flappityflippers1 hope you manage to get your GP slot and things resolve, I followed your tip and got the spectra!

Flappityflippers1 · 05/05/2021 18:11

@amylee1817 Ollie is 6 weeks old (born 22nd March) I confess I’ve been overdoing it massively which is why that stubborn bit of my scar won’t heal 😳

@Inkpaperstars it sounds like you’re having similar issues to what we’re having with Ollie - it’s so bloody tough. I had a PND assessment today and scoring “moderate” which is no surprise tbh. Have you tried nipple shields to help get baby to latch? Bfing purists hate them, but sometimes they can be just the trick to teach baby what to do x

Flappityflippers1 · 05/05/2021 18:12

Also ink this is my second; and I haven’t got a flipping clue what I’m doing with his tummy issues and reflux! I’m sure you’re doing everything possible x

doritodiva · 06/05/2021 07:35

I didn't realise there was a new thread. Congrats everyone. My April baby ended up coming in March!

SunnySideUp2020 · 06/05/2021 08:06

@Inkpaperstars
Also having tummy troubles over here!! She s on infacol and probiotics but not sure it helps...
So hard to see her in pain 😔

Apart from that she s great!! A litlle milk monster which now has baby acne 😅

rainbow95 · 06/05/2021 08:57

Is anyone else breastfeeding? My daughter is an eating machine and I'm finding it exhausting at times. I expressed some milk yesterday so my partner could help in the night. I know expressing isn't recommended until breastfeeding is established around 6 weeks (my daughter is 3 weeks next Monday) but I'm finding the constant breastfeeding hard! Is anyone else in a similar situation?
