@SunnySideUp2020 oh my, that certainly is one heck of a birth story! You should write it down or screenshot your msg from above, I like remembering things later and I did this for my first and last but not the 2 middle babies. Congratulations on the birth of your baby, you finally have your beautiful bundle of joy. How are you feeling now? Are you home with baby?

Babo993 · 19/04/2021 11:12

Congratulations @bunhead34 bet you feel much lighter now!!

Oh my gosh @sunnysideup2020 glad to hear you're OK now! Congratulations!

I'm 40+3 today and getting so fed up. I thought I was going into labour last night as I had lost my plug a couple of days ago and was having regular lower back pain every 10 minutes for about an hour and a bit. Fell asleep and woke up as if nothing happened!im getting cramps on and off today but I don't feel like I'm gonna go into labour anytime soon!

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 19/04/2021 12:37

Wow, some seriously dramatic births! Hope you're all okay.

Remember you can always ask for a birth debrief, at any time, if you want to discuss what happened. I had mine after 3years (couldn't face it before) and found it incredibly helpful.

Congratulations to the new mummas!

Had bloods taken and a pre-op covid swab today, anxiously awaiting ELCS on Wednesday!

MsHedgehog · 20/04/2021 09:08

Congratulations @bunhead34 and @SunnySideUp2020! Hope you’re enjoying the precious time with the babies!

And that is some some story Sunny. Really hope you’re doing ok, and whilst your explanation of it all sounds very blasé, please process what happens in case you develop delayed PTSD of some sort!

rainbow95 · 20/04/2021 11:26

Our baby girl arrived yesterday at 40+6 weeks weighing a healthy 8lbs 6oz. Somehow managed without pain relief! So in love with her and feeling very overwhelmed. Good luck to those still waiting and congratulations to everyone on the birth of your babies 🙂

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 20/04/2021 12:04

Congratulations @rainbow95!

Who is left now, apart from me!

BaaHumbugg · 20/04/2021 13:07

Congrats @rainbow95 ! Smile
Still waiting too @theviewfromoutsidemywindow !

Babo993 · 21/04/2021 11:38

@TheViewOutsideMyWindow im still waiting! 40+5 today and no signs of labour. I went for my second sweep yesterday but my midwife picked something up when checking baby over so I had to go to the hospital yesterday and sit on the ccg machine. Because I'm overdue, they've booked me in for an induction for friday! Happy to know I finally have an end date but scared at the same time!

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 21/04/2021 11:48

Off to the hospital now! Wish me luck ladies

SunnySideUp2020 · 21/04/2021 12:08

Good luck @TheViewOutsideMyWindow

SunnySideUp2020 · 21/04/2021 12:11

@MsHedgehog

I think i am ok tbh. My husband though still cries when he hears or talks about it. I think it was a lot for him to take and watch but not so much for me as i was a bit out or trying hard to fight whatever was happening to me i guess.

SunnySideUp2020 · 21/04/2021 12:12

@Mumto3andexpectingagain

We are home and well now 😇

amylee1817 · 21/04/2021 14:54

I'm still waiting! Feeling like crap 40+2. Had a failed sweep yesterday, got one again tomorrow. Hoping it works x

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 21/04/2021 18:40

Very proud mum to James William born yesterday at 12.12pm. Had a sweep the morning previous and lost mucus plug at 9.30pm. Had a few pains like baby's bead engaging during the night but had had that for weeks so kind of ignored it. Had a temperature for a while and was sick in the night. Woke up to a few contractions, waters broke, went in at 9.45 to get checked out and was 3cm dilated. Due to still having a temperature was taken away from the lovely birthing pool suite I'd managed to bag a room to. My OH came in after I was assessed so just before 11 and he was delivered by 12.12. Had a couple of painkillers and gas and air and an episiotomy to help James along the way.

Turns out my temp was an infection and little James has got one too so we are still in hospital trying to get that sorted. Can't wait to go home so we can see daddy again!

Congrats on all the news here and good luck to those still awaiting their new arrival x

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 21/04/2021 18:42

@amylee1817 if it makes you feel at all better, I had my first sweep at 40+3 and it couldn't even be performed as cervix too high.

My next one was at 40+8 and they just about managed to perform a sweep. I had my induction booked in for 40+10 but delivered James the day before the induction.

Babo993 · 21/04/2021 18:49

Congrats @1sttimemumtobe2021

amylee1817 · 22/04/2021 09:45

@1sttimemumtobe2021 congratulations on your little boy!

With my first sweep she said I was 1cm dialated but couldn't enter the second opening to perform the membrane sweep as it was closed (I didn't know there was another opening lol)

I have another one today at 11:30 really hoping it works!

What was the episiotomy like? I'm terrified of this!

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 22/04/2021 11:35

Poppy arrived at 3.30pm yesterday, 8lb 9oz of gorgeousness. Can't wait to get home and introduce her to her big sister!

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 22/04/2021 12:04

@amylee1817 you wouldn't even know you were having an episiotomy- you are that close to having the baby at that point that anything could be happening. Bleeding wise it's also gone down quite a lot so I've been going for a wee with very little blood so that's gone down too. You'll be great!

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 22/04/2021 12:05

Congrats @TheViewOutsideMyWindow ! X

reimah · 22/04/2021 12:40

Hi ladies,
Nice to hear of the lovely birth stories!
Does anyone have a spot of the baby blues?
I’m definitely feeling the blues, but scared it might turn into PPD, can someone give me some flags I should look out for?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

SunnySideUp2020 · 22/04/2021 13:46

Congratulations @TheViewOutsideMyWindow !

amylee1817 · 22/04/2021 18:37

@reimah, hi! Sorry but what's the baby blues? X

Flappityflippers1 · 22/04/2021 19:26

Congrats @TheViewOutsideMyWindow

@reimah baby blues usually lift quickly (within a few days), if it lasts longer, it could be PND, call your midwife or HV as they can do a questionnaire check which will indicate if it’s PND. Hope you’re ok Flowers

BaaHumbugg · 23/04/2021 08:10

Congrats everyone! Had my baby girl yesterday after a very quick delivery! So glad she is here!
