Congrats @Mumto3andexpectingagain. Very quick labour!

I think I'll also be hanging around for a while. I was due Sunday. There were 4 of us at work due around the same time (one after me, one a few days before, one a month before so he would always have arrived early). Anyway, I'm still the only one pregnant. And still the only one receiving constant text updates - any news!?

Inkpaperstars · 13/04/2021 21:53

Congratulations @Mumto3andexpectingagain, hope you are both doing well! Speedy work!

Good luck to those awaiting results from sweeps

Flappityflippers1 · 13/04/2021 22:23

Congratulations to everyone whose babas have arrived! Hang on in there to the ladies still waiting, it’s worth it ❤️

Bojingle · 13/04/2021 23:24

Hi everyone, my baby boy (we were team surprise) arrived at the end of March at 37+6 after induction, so hes a little over 2 weeks old now.

I've been quiet as he was taken into NICU at a few hours old and stayed in there for 10 days. I wasnt allowed to stay with him so I came home without him, we werent even allowed to open the sides of the incubator and touch him for 48 hours, absolute torture and not at all expected. He had premature lungs and an infection but he's fully recovered and back home with us now and has settled in perfectly. Congratulations to everyone else who has had their baby!

Inkpaperstars · 14/04/2021 03:20

@Bojingle, so many congrats on the birth of your little boy. I am so sorry to hear about the rocky start, it really is so hard. Hope that things continue to settle at home and you can all catch up on cuddling x

Wavesandsmilesencore · 14/04/2021 07:13

Hello everyone and congrats to @Mumto3andexpectingagain and @Bojingle but sorry for the start you had, it must have been so awful.

I finally welcomed my baby boy this morning at 0457 (Europe time) but it was so far from my natural birth plan. The waters breaking never started proper contractions and I ended up on IV antibiotics. By the early hours the baby’s heart rate was causing concern too, and he was delivered by emergency c section. He’s absolutely lovely, I’m still in a bit of shock as my plans for a quiet natural birth totally fell apart. I also vomited soooooo much both during contractions and then right after the surgery! Gross 🤢.

Good luck to absolutely everyone else and I really hope things work out well x

Congratulations on the new arrivals!

I'm 3 days overdue and just got back from a sweep that couldn't be performed as cervix is too high. Booked in for an induction next weds now which I'm not looking forward to as I'll be going in on my own. May be one of the last ones standing!

Mumto3andexpectingagain · 14/04/2021 15:45

Sorry to moan even though I've had baby! I had him yday morning at 11 and have been here over 24 hours, the lady in the bed next to me seems to be getting special treatment, I've been practically begging to be discharged and the midwife keeps coming in, talking to next door lady and then leaves, leaving me high and dry, I've not slept a wink and am anxious to get home to my 3 other kids but I'm getting so angry and annoyed

Mumto3andexpectingagain · 14/04/2021 15:46

Oh and she came in 11pm last night so 12 hours after I'd had my baby

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 14/04/2021 16:23

Congratulations to the new arrivals!

Sorry you've had a rough start @Bojingle, I know how difficult it is having baby in NICU and not being able to pick them up. It was awful for us but fortunately didn't affect bonding and feeding in the end. Please do talk to someone about your experience if you need to. I didn't have a birth debrief until I was pregnant with my second, 3 years on, but it really helped the healing process. Sending hugs.

@Mumto3andexpectingagain congratulations! If all is well with yourself and baby, feeding going well etc and there are no concerns, might you think about discharging yourself? I can understand wanting to get home in that situation!

Flappityflippers1 · 14/04/2021 18:49

@Wavesandsmilesencore that happened to me with my first, as far from my planned home birth as possible. Give yourself time to process it and feel whatever you’re feeling - be your own best friend!

Congrats to you and @Mumto3andexpectingagain!

mumto3 if you’re all good and baby ok and feeding ok, can you discharge yourself?

Mumto3andexpectingagain · 14/04/2021 19:36

I've escaped!! Finally home with baby and waiting for kids to come from childminders. Problem was I had to wait for ny paperwork and clexane prescription otherwise I woukdve just left but it doesn't matter now, I'm having cuddles x

BaaHumbugg · 14/04/2021 20:34

Glad you are home @mumto3andexpectingagain and hope your kids enjoy meeting your new additionSmile

Almost 39 weeks here not sure if I should be trying to get this baby out or not!

LuckyFlash · 15/04/2021 03:15

Well the sweep certainly worked for me! Had it at 10am Tuesday and by 12 I was having contractions. Our baby boy was born at 5.30 yesterday morning 3 days overdue.
I know everyone’s experience is totally different with sweeps but if anyone is considering one it really wasn’t that bad. Especially compared to the next bit 😂

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 15/04/2021 09:05

@LuckyFlash that's great, congratulations! Hopefully mine on Monday is just as successful ! Enjoy the loved up baby bubble x

bunhead34 · 15/04/2021 10:45

@LuckyFlash congratulations!

I'm so jealous. Still nothing happening here....

rainbow95 · 15/04/2021 10:55

Congratulations ladies!
Nothing happening here either. 40+2 and had enough now! 😑

BaaHumbugg · 15/04/2021 13:41

@luckyflash congratulations!

amylee1817 · 15/04/2021 15:27

Congratulations on the baby news!! I'm desperate to go into labour! 😪

Babo993 · 15/04/2021 15:30

Congratulations @Mumto3andexpectingagain and @Bojingle. Sorry to hear it was a rocky start but glad all is ok :)

40 weeks tomorrow and have a sweep booked in for the morning, im really hoping it starts something as I honestly feel like this baby does not want to come out! I've never felt contractions before so have no idea what to expect! Just want her out now so I can give her all the cuddles :)

Congratulations to everyone who have had their little bundles of joy :) and Hang in there to those still waiting! It'll be so worth it in the end

Mumto3andexpectingagain · 16/04/2021 05:57

@Babo993 how did it go with your sweep?

Congratulations to all of you who have your beautiful babies and good luck to those still waiting, it's just round the corner now x

Babo993 · 16/04/2021 10:08

@Mumto3andexpectingagain I haven't had it yet, it was for 10 am but has been moved to 12pm. I'm so nervous!! I've had no signs at all for labour so I have no idea what to expect!

Hows your little one?

Mumto3andexpectingagain · 16/04/2021 12:24

@Babo993 he's lovely thank you we are just getting ready to go to a midwife appt. Today wouldve been my due date but we've already had 3 days of cuddles Grin

TheViewOutsideMyWindow · 16/04/2021 16:34

Congratulations on the new babies!

Who is still waiting (apart from me!) I'm hoping baby stays snug until ELCS date on Wednesday.

rainbow95 · 16/04/2021 16:59

I'm still waiting 😑 40+3 now and feeling very achey! Period like pains again today and have been losing mucas plug the last few days but I'm not building my hopes up. Booked for a sweep next Tuesday.
