@treesall I really feel for you, such an awful situation to be in. When do you go back for your next scan? Are you taking time off work? Xx

treesall · 22/03/2021 07:29

Luckily I happened to have this week and next week booked off as holiday so very glad about that . Really hoping it's all over and sorted before I go back! x

HalGem99 · 22/03/2021 07:48

That is good that you have time off. When is the scan xx

Daffodil21 · 22/03/2021 09:22

@treesall not too much at all. That is exactly what this thread is for ❤️

I remember being at the same stage as you for my first pregnancy. The limbo and not knowing really is the worst. I remember almost being relieved when it was over. I really really hope this turns out different for you, and if not then I hope it doesn't take as long. So glad you've got some time off work xx

Thanks @Daffodil21. To be honest I really am certain that there is no hope so I just want it over with.

I have stronger cramps today having not had any for a few days so wondering if my body is starting the process. We'll see xx

Daffodil21 · 22/03/2021 10:00

@treesall unfortunately it sounds like it might be. I suppose as usual, time will tell. Life can be so cruel sometimes.

Today we are collecting the ashes from my last pregnancy. Kind of hit me that however turns out I'm at the point where I'll have to actually give birth 🙈

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 23/03/2021 07:44

@Daffodil21 what is the cut off point because that's what scares me the most!! How did it go yesterday? Are you doing anything with the ashes? Xx

I'm on my last official day of progesterone today (16 weeks) but I have a few left so going to take one a day until they have gone. X

treesall · 23/03/2021 18:26

Afternoon ladies. I caved in this morning and booked a scan. Baby is still hanging in there for now.

Heartbeat is still slow and It had only grown 5.5mm in 7 days. I should be 8w today (or maybe 7+6 based on when I ovulated) and it's measuring 6+5. So limbo waiting for the inevitable continues!

HalGem99 · 23/03/2021 18:44

@treesall I would've done the same! Did the person who did the scan provide an opinion at all? Is there any hope? Did they say what the heartbeat actually was? Xx

treesall · 23/03/2021 19:35

No, she didn't say and just said they don't measure the heartbeat this early, but agreed it looked slow. She just said I'd have to see what happens at next week's scan. She said the growth over the last week was fine, though everything I've read says it should be 1mm a day so I don't see how that's true. X

HalGem99 · 23/03/2021 19:46

To be honest when you said it has grown 5.5mm in 7 days, I thought that was ok as well and would see that as a good thing! The only thing I would be concerned about is the slow heartbeat but it might catch up? Xx

Daffodil21 · 23/03/2021 19:59

@HalGem99 I actually don't know what the cut off point is, but I'm pretty sure that by 20 weeks you'd have to actually give birth. It was really weird to be picking up ashes from my last pregnancy while clearly pregnant with another. But they were lovely, and put them in a nice box which I wasn't expecting. We will scatter them somewhere but I'm not sure where yet. Great you're coming off the progesterone - how are you feeling about it? I'll be taking my last one tomorrow too. I've been taking them way longer than I needed to.

@treesall I've got absolutely everything crossed for you! When is your next scan?

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 23/03/2021 20:12

Awww I'm glad it all went ok!

I'm a bit anxious, not going to lie but it's definitely just in my head that something will go wrong if I stop them! Trying to get that thought out of my head though! Xx

Daffodil21 · 23/03/2021 20:40

@HalGem99 I had that same feeling when I stopped the steroids a few weeks ago, and a little apprehensive about stopping he progesterone but also quite happy to! A lot of people only take it until 12 weeks and have successful pregnancies so try not to worry (a little rich from me I know!!)

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 23/03/2021 20:49

@daffodil21 I've spent the last hour stalking Mumsnet for people in the same position and most people stop like you say at 12 weeks and it appears that there's no benefit continuing past 16 weeks anyway! I do feel abit better but may be booking more regular scans! Xx

Daffodil21 · 23/03/2021 21:03

@HalGem99 I did exactly the same as you! I had quite a few left so figured I may as well continue and they said at one of my appointments that there's no harm in taking until 20 weeks, but also that it probably wouldn't make much difference. I'm hoping I can get to a point where I can stop booking so many scans but I'm not sure that day will ever come! Whatever makes you feel happier x

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 23/03/2021 22:06

Well I booked my next scan for 10th April so on the countdown already! Have the midwife Friday as well.

I have 6 extra progesterones. Would you do one a day for 6 days or one a day for 3 days then one every other day for 3 days? I know it doesn't matter but it will help me psychologically to have your opinion! Xx

Daffodil21 · 23/03/2021 22:23

@HalGem99 I've done one a day for the last 2 weeks, so I would prob go for one a day for 6 days but as you say I don't think it makes a lot difference!

Daffodil21 · 25/03/2021 11:57

Got my 20 week scan in 2 hours 😩😩😩

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 25/03/2021 12:14

Eeeeeeek!!! Good luck! Let us know how you get on! Keeping everything crossed! When did you last have a scan? Xx

Daffodil21 · 25/03/2021 12:17

@HalGem99 thank you! 2 weeks ago which is ages for me, so bricking it!!

HalGem99 · 25/03/2021 12:20

Yes I've got to wait another two weeks for mine and it's dragging! Midwife tomorrow so hopefully they can listen to the heartbeat!

Is hubby going with you? Hate it when they are in the middle of the day! You just want it over and done with! Xx

Daffodil21 · 25/03/2021 14:30

@HalGem99 yeah 2 weeks feel forever!

All ok! Phew! Off to indulge myself and buy some cute clothes now! I know it's still a little early but I've waited years to do this so screw it!
