Daffodil21 · 29/06/2021 21:14

@GreenGecko36 so glad your scan went well!! How are you feeling about it all?

@treesall I'm good thank you. Not too long to go now - hoping for a CS at 39 weeks so 5 weeks left. Can't believe we're still going tbh. How are you? X

Sorry @Daffodil21 I missed your last message! How are you?

@HalGem99 you are very quiet - I hope all is ok abs you're coping with the GD.

@GreenGecko36 how are you?

I have had my latest bfp this week, so of course hoping this is the one that sticks. Not holding my breath but desperately hoping... very early days though, not even 4 weeks yet. Eeek. Had intralipids today, and if I'm still pregnant at 6-7 weeks I'll go back for a scan. Not sure we will get that far but trying to be positive x

GreenGecko36 · 06/07/2021 21:46

Awesome news, massive congratulations @treesall, so happy for you!!!
Apologies if this is something everyone knows, but what are intralipids for?

The sonographer reckoned I was 5 1/2 last week, and going back tomorrow to see there's a heartbeat this time...
I'm feeling pretty philosophical about it I guess, not especially optimistic but I know we're doing everything we can so let's see how far we go.
Not enjoying the heparin injections though - I can cope with the needle part of it, but the liquid itself stings like a b! But if that's the most painful part of having a baby I'll be surprised Wink

HalGem99 · 06/07/2021 22:18

@treesall and @GreenGecko36 massive congratulations to you both!!!!! How are things progressing?

Sorry for not checking in for a while, I've had a stressful time since being diagnosed with gestational diabetes as have to test my blood 4 times a day and it's proving difficult to get enough blood most days, so what should be one pin prick can sometimes be 8! Very draining but need to keep reminding myself it will all be worth it. I suppose a positive is that I'm classed as high risk now which means I'm consultant led and now get regular scans and appointments!

Had my first growth scan yesterday and she's measuring 3 lbs 9oz which they said is right where she should be! Although seems pretty big already to me! I'm 31 weeks today. I also got told that I will be induced and won't go past my due date!

@Daffodil21 how are you? It can't be long now?? Eeeeeeek! Xx

HalGem99 · 06/07/2021 22:19

HD Live scan attached! She's got her arms under her chin! Soooo cute xx

@treesall so so pleased for you. But I know the next few weeks will be so tense for you. You are under the best care so hopefully this is what you need.

I'm good thank you. This is definitely the easiest stage for me atm, both physically and mentally. I'm still aware he might not come out of this ok, but it's reassuring to see and feel him move so I'm just waiting it out tbh.

@GreenGecko36 absolutely everything crossed for you tomorrow. Will you let us know? I've had clexane before and I agree with you that it stings like f* going in! I found it did get less painful the more I did it, and I think I just did it pretty quickly! I read slower helps but I didn't find that! It got me over my needle phobia though! How long do you have to do them for?

OP posts:
Daffodil21 · 06/07/2021 22:24

@HalGem99 sorry you've struggling with GD. You just don't need that extra stress do you. Are your glucose levels generally ok so you can manage it with diet alone or will you need meds? So glad she's measuring well!

I'm good thank you! But yes, not long! I have a feeling it may be soon actually! But I should hopefully get a CS booked at my next consultant app on the 19th

Daffodil21 · 06/07/2021 22:24

@HalGem99 amazing!!!!

OP posts:
HalGem99 · 06/07/2021 22:28

@Daffodil21 how many weeks are you now?

I'm diet controlled at the moment but been prescribed Metformin in case I get high readings as apparently GD gets harder to control as each week passed! If I go on Metformin then I will be induced earlier xx

Daffodil21 · 06/07/2021 22:32

@HalGem99 I'll somehow be 35 weeks on Thursday!

OP posts:
Daffodil21 · 06/07/2021 22:33

Sorry pressed send too soon. That's good about being diet controlled. Fingers crossed you won't need the metformin but if you do, you do x

@HalGem99 I'm sorry it's been tough. That all sounds like a nightmare! Good that you have it all under control though. That 4d scan pic is amazing!!

@GreenGecko36 the intralipids help to suppress the NK cells I think. They're so expensive, the cost of everything is keeping me awake at night!

@Daffodil21 that's so exciting that your baby will be here soon!! Eeeeeee!!

GreenGecko36 · 07/07/2021 19:40

Good news again today - measuring around 6 1/2 and we could see the heartbeat!
Another scan booked for the 23rd to check on progress again, but literally just to check cos everything was fine today. Been here twice before so not getting carried away yet, just one step at a time.

@Daffodil21 the injections need to be taken every day until 6 weeks post-birth I think. Getting some nasty bruises for my trouble, whether I go fast or slow and without rubbing afterwards (hard to resist when it stings so much!) I looked up how much they cost the NHS though, and at almost £3 a day I'm glad to have them on prescription...

@HalGem99 sorry to hear you're suffering with the GD, my sister had it with her last pregnancy and although she had an elective CS a couple of weeks early baby was totally fine and is now a gorgeous 8 month old :)

@treesall ah I see. Well that sounds like a really positive step at least, and since you've got your bfp you'll probably save a fortune on opk and hpt!!

Daffodil21 · 08/07/2021 14:51

@GreenGecko36 brilliant news!! I think my pharmacy accidentally forgot to charge me for mine!

Keep us all up to date! You too @treesall

Thinking of you both, the early days are the worst by an absolute mile! Hang in there x

Blxo94 · 09/07/2021 20:25

Just jumping on this thread, hope that's OK ❤️
I'm currently 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant. After suffering a ectopic pregnancy 4 years ago, a anencephalic baby girl I lost at 13 weeks, miscarriage at 10 weeks, a partial molar pregnancy at 13 weeks, and another anencephalic baby girl lost at 12 weeks also. Its been a ride you can say! I'm terrified, I'm absolutely terrified. I suffer from post traumatic disorder due to this and symptoms are elevated due to the worry I have! I have 1 child. He is 9 and I'm just desperate to bring him a sibling for him and to finally have our rainbow we deserve. I had a scan at 5 weeks to check pregnancy was in the correct place. Which luckily it was so we have crossed 1 obsticale so far. I have a scan at 8 weeks to check for molar pregnancy, and then another scan at 10 weeks to check for anencephaly or other NTDS which of course won't be officially diagnosed until 12weeks+. Just really posting to chat to those who understand my worries x

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2021 21:25

@Blxo94 welcome 👋 unfortunately you are in good company here. I'm so sorry to read all that you've been through, that sounds absolutely awful.

We're all here to support you where we can ❤️

OP posts:
Daffodil21 · 09/07/2021 21:31

@Blxo94 do you have any diagnosis or treatment? I'm sorry I don't know anything about anencephalic - I actually just had to look up what it was

OP posts:
Blxo94 · 09/07/2021 21:51

@Daffodil21
As of at the moment everything is absolutely fine. But we won't know anything until 12-16 weeks. Anencephaly can't be diagnosed any sooner unfortunately. For molar it will be 10 weeks plus. So I'm just waiting on these scans to rule them out ☺️ I hate the first trimester! It's nothing but worry. Wish I could just enjoy it and feel happy! Hopefully I get to take this baby home!x

Blxo94 · 09/07/2021 21:54

@Daffodil21 so because I have had a termination for medical reasons twice for my anencephaly babies. Myself and the babies got tested. Absolutely nothing came back as to why. The only thing that can put it down to it my eating disorder and my weight. So I'm on 5mg of folic acid instead of the standard amount. I've been in recovery for 4 months! So I'm hoping the Combination of recovery and the folic acid has done something! X

Blxo94 · 09/07/2021 21:57

@GreenGecko36 when is your estimated due date? I'm March 2nd 2022! Which is actually my birthday!

Also what's everyone's story? And how far on are you guys?❤️

lukiebebe · 09/07/2021 22:01

Didn't know this thread existed ♥️ sending my love to all of you who have lost their precious babies.

I'm 34 weeks pregnant with my second son, who is healthy 🙏 we pray we get to bring him home next month! Although we've been told he's perfectly healthy it's so hard to picture taking him home 😔

I gave birth to my stillborn son in May 2020 due to a lethal skeletal dysplasia which stopped my baby boy's lungs and heart. I was 39 weeks pregnant. I spent 4 perfect days with him but I miss him so much this pregnancy has been so hard. We've been told my partner and I have a 25% chance of having another poorly baby with this lethal condition, but we are blessed that our 2nd baby boy doesn't have this mutated gene. We can't wait to meet him 🥲

Sending all of you my love!

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2021 22:05

@Blxo94 I'm so sorry to read this. I have absolutely everything crossed for you. Hopefully this is the one for you. The first trimester really is the worst. I had so many scans until I could start feeling him because I just felt like it was all over so often.

So I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant with a boy (still can't believe I'm saying that). I've had 3 early losses over 14 months. None of them got tested (the last one was supposed to be but the hospital messed it up so it didn't get done). I don't have any answers but I took progesterone until week 23ish and an immunity suppressant steroids until week 16. No idea is they did any good but we are still going

Daffodil21 · 09/07/2021 22:07

@lukiebebe you're about the same way through as me! So sorry to read about your son ❤️

We've also been told he's perfectly healthy at every scan and check but I still don't believe we may take a healthy baby home!

I'm so glad your boy doesn't have the condition x

Blxo94 · 09/07/2021 22:30

@lukiebebe I'm so sorry about your loss of your precious boy. I'm so happy that your baby boy is thriving and it doing well. It must be very scary indeed!
