Due November 2021 - anyone?

Anyone else with veeery early November positives who wants to hop on a thread and keep one another company?

I’ll start - I’m a MN regular posting under a new name. Took a test this morning and got a BFP! I already have DD(3) and last year we sadly lost her sibling to miscarriage - so I’m expecting a nervous nine months ahead. Sorest boobs ever and odd dreams the past few days but otherwise feeling ok (I know it’s very early though!). Oh, and DD gave me a hug yesterday and announced that there was a baby in my belly 🤦‍♀️

How are others getting on?

@Jessi68 I panic about cramps almost every minute of the day! I seem to have period like cramps maybe once or twice a day and it lasts about 10 mins. Then throughout the day I get off twinges which can be on either the left or right hand side.

Such a worrying time. I think I'm only about 5 weeks and considering having a private scan at 8 weeks just for piece of mind. I'm probably being dramatic though.

AngeloMysterioso · 24/03/2021 11:08

Can I hop on the bus? Got my BFP yesterday Grin. Going by my cycles EDD is 30th Nov, although DS was 10 days past his due date so could well be a December baby!

AlackAlasAlackaday · 24/03/2021 11:52

Welcome @AngeloMysterioso! How old is DS?

@bages1977 I've been thinking about a private 8 week scan too, but then I wonder if it will even help, or if I'll just find new things to worry about afterwards (and for the next 18 years lol)! Have many people here had early scans? Did it help calm your nerves? Are there any reasons not to get one?

Alreadyinmypyjamas · 24/03/2021 12:22

I paid for an early scan with my first. It helped with my anxiety a bit, but I'm not having one this time.

Is anyone not finding out the sex?

monnis · 24/03/2021 12:23

@Jessi68 @bages1977 I had a 10 week scan on OHs bday in October only to discover the baby had stopped growing a few days earlier, it was such a terrible shock. That was a really bad day.
I've booked a private scan this time again for 10 weeks. I feel if I had seen the heartbeat then it would have been even harder to come with the loss. Not sure why I think that way but I do. That's my personal choice and I'm sure we will all be different. It will be hard to wait that long and still after that things could still go wrong but I'm hopeful this pregnancy will result in a healthy baby and looking forward to finally becoming a mum x gl to you whatever you decide x

babynov · 24/03/2021 12:27

@Jessi68 I had an early scan at 6 weeks which went well and I felt reassured that at least everything was where it should be.

I might have another one at 9 weeks but I'm quite an anxious person so I think until I actually have a healthy baby here, I will worry!

AngeloMysterioso · 24/03/2021 12:30

@AlackAlasAlackaday thanks! He’s 16 months, quite a handful!

We had an early scan at with DS, but it was mainly so we had some pictures to surprise the grandmothers with as we were telling them the news on Mother’s Day which was when I was 10ish weeks. This time around we’ll probably get an early one again so DH can be there as my local trust still isn’t allowing fathers/birth partners into scans.

GSMCK · 24/03/2021 12:45

I can’t decide whether to have an early scan or just carry on blissfully unaware that anything may have gone wrong! My MMC at 11 weeks last year came out of nowhere, was fine one day then bleeding intensely the next. I hadn’t had an early scan so no idea when baby stopped growing etc. Don’t know if it would have been worse if I had seen it healthy then that had happened. Neither is a good situation to be fair.

Another question, is anyone thinking of having the vaccine while pregnant?

ShutUpAlex · 24/03/2021 12:56

I had a scan last week but it was too early to see anything, so being rescanned next Friday. I think having an early scan has made me feel worse tbh. I’m so worried all the time. I have lots of pregnancy symptoms but I know you can still get these even if the baby is gone.

Mancbear88 · 24/03/2021 12:59

@Jessi68 I get an 8 week scan as it’s an IVF pregnancy but if that’s ok I’m hoping that I’ll get a 10 week scan too with NHS, due to a past loss, consultant said I could. If I don’t I’ll pay for one. That’s just because I had a loss with my first pregnancy at 8 weeks, after my successful 7 week scan, and it wasn’t picked up till the 12 scan. I’m hoping it will help.

@GSMCK I probably won’t get the vaccine because I’m not at risk from Covid, but if I had any risk factors I would do.

@Alreadyinmypyjamas i won’t be finding out the sex assuming I get that far. My husband has always said he doesn’t want to find out, and I’m not fused either way about finding out or not.

Rozed · 24/03/2021 13:18

@AlackAlasAlackaday congratulations! How exciting x

I have managed to arrange a booking appt for the 16th of April. Feels ages away! I have also arranged a private early scan for next week. I will be around 6 weeks. I am so anxious. Fingers crossed everything is as it should be 🤞!
Symptoms wise, apart from sore boobs, I'm not feeling any different.. No other issues apart from some mild cramping every now and then. I was the same when I found out I was pregnant with my now 5 year old. However, I didn't find out as early as this time due to irregular cycles. It is going to be a looong 9 months!

Maya000 · 24/03/2021 13:54

Is anyone struggling to eat? I think about food all day but, the thought of eating anything makes me feel nauseous. With my first pregnancy, I went off meat but, this time I can't tolerate anything. I am not throwing up, I just feel like gagging at the sight of any food. I am 7 + 3. Wondering if I should get in touch with my gp

ShutUpAlex · 24/03/2021 13:58

I seem to be only wanting takeaway atm which is a killer as I’m already fat enough Sad

Horehound · 24/03/2021 14:40

@ShutUpAlex how far along when you went for your early scan? I have one booked for April 11th but I think I'll be 6+6 so dunno if it's too early

I had an early scan with my boy a few years ago. The first time I think I was 6 weeks so didn't see anything. I went back two weeks later and I cried seeing the little fluttering heartbeat! But the sonographer worried me by saying I may have a bicornuate uterus. Quéue much worrying and in the end I didn't!

I'm eating normally. I just have mild cramping and occasional stabby boob pain. But I am only 4+2.

@AngeloMysterioso I think I am due 30 Nov too!

My boy came 1 week early though so I can't see me going over this time.

ShutUpAlex · 24/03/2021 14:42

I thought I was 6 weeks but I ovulated late so was actually only 5 weeks. I’ll be 7+6 next Friday when I’m rescanned.

Horehound · 24/03/2021 14:45

Ah ok that'll be much better then ! It's exciting!

ShutUpAlex · 24/03/2021 14:52

Kind of Grin also the most anxious I’ve ever been!

happygolucky20 · 24/03/2021 14:52

@ShutUpAlex I am worried I might the same issue. They want to scan me early but I did ovulation kits this month and they showed I didn’t ovulate, so I’m worried I’ll get there and might be too early but will then be worrying for another week until they scan again. I did a CB how many weeks today and it put me at 2-3 so assuming I am actually spot on and I did ovulate but the tests didn’t work 🤷🏻‍♀️

Horehound · 24/03/2021 14:57

@happygolucky20 so you're 3-4 in reality?

@ShutUpAlex I know it's stressful but we really need to try some exercises to keep calm because stress can be a negative thing in pregnancy so even though we are worried about other things, we need to be conscious of that worry. If you know what i mean?! Don't mean that to sound patronising...I am a worrier so I need to practice it myself

Horehound · 24/03/2021 14:59

Sorry I mean 4-5 in reality

happygolucky20 · 24/03/2021 15:05

@Horehound yup, dead on 4-5 which means I did ovulate in the right week. Gutted I wasted so much money on digital ovulation kits 😂

Horehound · 24/03/2021 15:20

@happygolucky20 haha yeh but if you hadn't... Lol

If you plan on another baby just keep them :)

ShutUpAlex · 24/03/2021 15:35

@Horehound I know I’m just a naturally anxious person haha. Plus I can’t take my lithium while pregnant for my bipolar so that’s a while other worry too!

Alreadyinmypyjamas · 24/03/2021 15:43

@Maya000

I've lost 3lb already. And I'm off coffee which is usually my favourite thing in the world - my reason for getting up in the morning.

I've banned my husband from talking to me about food as I feel dreadful. No actual throwing up yet. Last time I was really ill from 6+5 and I'm currently 6+3.
