Due November 2021 - anyone?

Anyone else with veeery early November positives who wants to hop on a thread and keep one another company?

I’ll start - I’m a MN regular posting under a new name. Took a test this morning and got a BFP! I already have DD(3) and last year we sadly lost her sibling to miscarriage - so I’m expecting a nervous nine months ahead. Sorest boobs ever and odd dreams the past few days but otherwise feeling ok (I know it’s very early though!). Oh, and DD gave me a hug yesterday and announced that there was a baby in my belly 🤦‍♀️

How are others getting on?

Oh, forgot to say I'm due on 14 November. Any due date twins?

Rmd123 · 15/03/2021 14:39

@Robyn101 hi!! I'm in the same boat it's my first and nervous for the next few weeks. I googled my due date and it said 26th but my pregnancy app says the 25th so I'll go with that until I tell the doctor!

When do you tell your GP you're pregnant? I was going to wait until about a week after my missed period.

Also what pregnancy vitamins is everyone taking? I got Pregnacare original I didn't know they did a max one now I'm thinking should I get the max one?

monnis · 15/03/2021 15:00

Hi all, is anyone planning to go for an early scan? And what week do you recommend to do it?

Robyn101 · 15/03/2021 15:03

@Rmd123 I’ve no idea with the doctor I think I’m going to wait it out until I see a 3+ weeks on a test and then give them a call, I don’t think they do much till 8 weeks anyway

DaenarysStormborn · 15/03/2021 15:11

@monnis I've booked one for 8 weeks so that we hopefully get a heartbeat.
@rmd123 I phoned the GP this morning but it's just going to be a phone call in a week.
@Robyn101 I've got the weird tummy feeling, backache and I'm ridiculously tired!

I'm due on the 21st/22nd Nov I think...my pregnancy app and Mumsnet disagree.

babynov · 15/03/2021 15:26

Does anyone know if it's possible to hear a heartbeat early on and then have a miscarriage?

I've googled and it seems rare but I just can't shake the feeling something will go wrong.

I had a MMC in June last year, I had some bleeding a few of weeks before and went for scan at around 6 weeks and we sore the heartbeat. Unfortunately, when we went for a scan at 10 weeks the baby had stopped developing. so it is possible. However, there were a lot of signs that something was wrong before then as well as just knowing something wasn't right. So I wouldn't worry to much about that happening especially if there's no signs.
babynov · 15/03/2021 16:06

@Waitingforarainbow87 thank you!

There are no signs it will go wrong - but I was advised it would be difficult for me to conceive and we did on the first try so maybe it's just I don't want to let myself believe I could be lucky enough for it all to work out.

So sorry for your loss and wishing you lots of love for your rainbow baby

It can happen- one of the biggest pieces of advice I can give (and that I should follow myself) is to try and avoid googling things- because it will come up with hundreds of stories that make you think it happens all the time to everyone. I panicked so much this morning after going down a google spiral and it just sets me up for a bad day then, because I convince myself something is going to go wrong.

This forum has probably been the best place for advice so far, and Tommy’s have an “email a midwife” thing if your concerned, or you can talk to your local EPU etc. Google can be a terrifying place!

ktypage · 15/03/2021 17:08

Also it’s completely normal to feel everything will go wrong.

Before I became pregnant the first time, I always assumed I would just be happy, calm and excited- oh how wrong I was Grin

Waitingforarainbow87 · 15/03/2021 18:06

@babynov I agree with @ktypage Google is the worst! However, I should really take my own advice on this and stop googling every little thing 😂. Time just goes so slowly, I’m counting down the days till I get passed 8 weeks and can have a scan.

MKe21 · 15/03/2021 18:58

@monnis I've got an early scan booked for 4th April when I'll be 7+1.

Last pregnancy we had the NIPT test and really would like to again. With a scan at 7+1 and if all OK, one around 11 weeks for the NIPT plus the 12 weeks NHS scan, would it be overboard to have another around 9 weeks? Between 7 and 11 seems like a long time and I'm terrified of something happening but being missed inbetween. Can too many be harmful?

AlackAlasAlackaday · 15/03/2021 19:08

Everything kty said - but it’s so hard not to worry/Google/think the worst. Solidarity Flowers

I had my booking in appt today, by phone. All fine. They asked about where I wanted to give birth, and at the mo I’m thinking either the local birth centre (it’s in the hospital so easy to transfer if needed) or at home. Leaning towards the former because I’m not sure how I’d be in labour if DD was sleeping in the next room! But when she was born I was fully dilated before we even got to the hospital and then things stalled a bit, I think at least partly because of the change in environment... which makes me think I’d be a good candidate for a HB. Argh. Not sure.

Anyone else thinking along those lines?

Thank you @MKe21 and @DaenarysStormborn I think I will book soon to have something to look forward to.

babynov · 15/03/2021 19:51

Thank you everyone. I need to put.google.down.

Hard though! I want to skip ahead to 12 weeks but I think you can't really relax until they are here safely in your arms!

@AlackAlasAlackaday I love the idea of a girl birth but I don't think I'm relaxed enough. A friend did and loved it!

SunshineandDaisies · 15/03/2021 20:11

Oh I'm a hairdresser too, I'm around 5weeks now. Did you get advised to stay off til after your 12 week scan?xx

Sunbird24 · 15/03/2021 22:00

I’ve got some spotting again today but it’s the same as it was on Saturday. Bit crampy again as well. Doesn’t help that my boiler’s gone on the blink so I’m camping on the sofa tonight to stay warm!

Rmd123 · 15/03/2021 23:27

@SunshineandDaisies I'm a hairdresser too! In Ireland.. I don't think we'll be open until I'm 12 weeks. When are they reopening in UK?

SunshineandDaisies · 15/03/2021 23:45

Oh that's interesting. We open on 12th April here so il be around 9/10 weeks then I think. Abit anxious about going back so close contact with people before my 12 week scan xx

MKe21 · 16/03/2021 05:00

Is anyone else waking up so early and can't get back to sleep? Toddler woke me up at 4 for his dummy and just can't get back to sleep even though I'm shattered!

Tried to nap when he did yesterday as I was off work and tired and again just lay there for 2 hours just so tired but not able to drop off!

Jax27 · 16/03/2021 07:05

@MKe21Yes I’ve had such bad insomnia for the past couple of weeks but seems to be easing off a little bit since the weekend. I’m still awake by 6 but that seems late compared to the 3:30/4 wake ups I was having. I bought a black out eye mask which helped a little bit, also trying to push my bedtime to about 10 instead of taking myself upstairs early. Xx

MKe21 · 16/03/2021 07:13

@Jax27 how far along are you now? Hope it eases off soon. I fell asleep about 5:30 again and then my toddler woke up at 5:45 wanting cuddles 😅 so that was that.

Hope it wears off soon. I remember first time round being so tired I'd be asleep by 7 but I'm only 4+3 so that hasn't hit yet.

Jax27 · 16/03/2021 07:17

@MKe21 bless you, with a toddler too. I can only imagine how tired you must be. I hope it eases off for you also. ❤️

I’m 6 weeks today, just did my digital test this morning so feeling a bit happier. I’m the same as you, even when I was so deliriously tired, I couldn’t nap or sleep. Made me feel quite emotional and non-functional last week but I’m just hoping i don’t get it too often.

How far along are you? Xx

Jax27 · 16/03/2021 07:18

@MKe21 sorry ignore that, I have just seen in your post. 🤣 congratulations to you xxx

Fuzzbuzz86 · 16/03/2021 07:55

@Sunbird24 hope your feeling better today. X

@AlackAlasAlackaday I'd love a home birth but dd was prem and I had undiagnosed pre eclampsia so its unlikely I'll be able to this time. You have lots of time to decide anyway.

@MKe21 also super tired, dd doesnt sleep through yet and is up at 6.30am 😭 hope you have an easy day. X
