22 weeks leakage and cervix funneling

Hello,

After 4 miscarriages last year all at first trimester which included a missed miscarriage, I am now 22 weeks pregnant and desperately hoping to have a healthy first born child.

Yesterday went for a cervical length scan as I worry about everything and wanted to make sure I wasn't at risk of pre term.. And they discovered a shortening cervix at 18mm with funnelling but they could not do emergency stitch because I am also leaking a bit of amnio fluid 😢

Has anyone experienced this before and had a successful outcome?

What is your due date @Bumblebee902021?

I'm 34+4 so not that far behind!

I’m so glad everything is going well for you OP. My friend had this and was on bed rest from 24 weeks. Gave birth to a beautiful girl at 39 weeks. X

@Bumblebee902021 that is so great! I hope you're feeling well. Are you still on bed rest or just acting normally and waiting to see what happens?

everything is fine here! 29 weeks tomorrow.

Thank you. To update everyone on here. I delivered a healthy baby boy at 37 weeks 5 days so in terms of this I am a success story and my baby is my world and miracle 💙 I thank everyone on here for all the support, it has helped me massively to keep me sane through the days and months of bed rest. It really has kept me sane and positive and my baby boy is healthy and absolutely beautiful.

Unfortunately labour was traumatic and endured ventouse and forcepts which left me with 4th degree tear, 2 surgeries and numerous blood transfusions so this is my next challenge which will come up in a new thread. But to anyone reading this, I have a great success story in that an emergency cerclage, plenty of bed rest and faith helped get my baby to term 💙

Oh OP! I just read your whole thread and am so happy it turned out for you! It’s made me a little emotional and I’m an ice-queen normally!

If it makes you feel better; your birth sounds just like my first (4 years ago). Ventouse, forceps, 3d tear and PPH with airlift for blood transfusion. It’s now a distant memory! I did need Physio for my pelvic floor though (standard here in Switzerland but not in the UK - ask for it). I has a C-section the second time around; highly recommend it!

boymum88 · 09/06/2021 12:22

Oh @Bumblebee902021 I'm soooo soooo happy for you. I can remember your first post and to see you got to term fills me with so much joy. You beat incompetent cervix 👏
I wish you a speedy recovery
