@nursey1993 happy due date! 🥰

Having lost quite a lot of mucous plug over the past week or so I just lost a bit the size of a small plum... it was huge. Sorry this is tmi but was quite shocked! X x x

Finally after making us wait an additional 10 days, our little boy Max was born on 17 Feb at 8lb 10oz. He is absolutely perfect and a great little baby. I ended up having to be induced again, which I was very much dreading, but after the first dose of Prostin when I was admitted on Tues night I started having contractions, got another dose 6 hours later and by 11am was 5cm dilated and having strong, regular contractions. Moved down to labour ward and he was born just after 7pm. This induction experience was so much better than the previous one, mostly down to how quickly everything happened so he must have been almost ready to come out! We got out the following day and have just been at home staring at him for hours on end and talking about how lucky we are and how wonderful he is - although my boobs are in bits, not sure if he’s not quite latching on properly or if it’s just because he seems to want to feed a lot so they’re having no reprieve! Bits down below are still super tender so just taking it easy and moving around at a snail’s pace!

Congratulations to everyone else who has had their babies in the meantime and good luck to everyone else who is still to come. I really made a conscious effort to try and be as calm as possible during the labour and managed to get by on just gas and air. Even if you’re being induced and aren’t looking forward to it, which is compounded by the fact partners can’t be there the whole way through and the visiting hours are rubbish, you’ll absolutely get there and the moment your baby is born you’ll forget about everything else, as cliche as it sounds! X

@017HF congrats 💙💙💙

Stef92 · 20/02/2021 09:40

I've kept an eye on my pad like the hospital suggested, when I called them yesterday afternoon as thought waters were trickling, but it just seems like baby's head has fully engaged and he was pushing hard which was making me go to the loo a lot. Hoping for some progress in the next week (due date is Tuesday) to avoid the induction planned on the 2nd, just don't want to be in hospital too long but I'm sure everything would be fine if I was induced.

TeaPiglet · 20/02/2021 11:28

Congratulations @017HF glad to hear a positive story and thing max is such a lovely name. Happy newborn bubble to you!! 🥰

babydust2412 · 20/02/2021 12:28

@017HF congratulations! What a positive story to look back on for you that's wonderful 💙💙

babydust2412 · 20/02/2021 12:28

@Muriel84 I went into labour the morning after losing bigger bits of my mucus plug so fingers crossed it'll happen soon 🤞🏼🥰

Newmumfeb2021 · 20/02/2021 13:13

Congratulations @017HF 🥰 hope you feel better soon. Thank you for your positive induction story!
xx

Newmumfeb2021 · 20/02/2021 13:14

@jbx10 hope you're doing well
xx

Muriel84 · 20/02/2021 16:10

Contractions started around 1:30, every 7-9 mins, lasting a minute. Fairly uncomfortable, a few have made my eyes water. Went for 4km walk this morning. This afternoon have been trying to move about the flat but lay down for half hour as shattered. Contractions now seem to be over ten mins apart. Is this normal? Also hosing mucous plug still (soz) but no waters breaking... x x x

LBoz39 · 20/02/2021 17:01

Congratulations @017HF 🎉⚘

Newmumfeb2021 · 20/02/2021 17:19

@Muriel84 could be that you're close, check with triage if you should go in? Good luck!
xx

MissKhan1990 · 20/02/2021 17:30

Hi, ladies

Sending @Saf, prayers at this difficult time.

I am feeling very emotional and fed up. I just want it to be over now. I have a sweep booked for Thursday. 1 day after my due date, l feel very trapped and claustrophobic like my body isn't mine anymore.

I'm afraid baby will be late and lm ready for her to be here now.

Sorry, to be a downer. Thankyou for reading.

Stef92 · 20/02/2021 18:55

Waiting for hubby to pick up a Chinese for tonight's attempt of spicy food to get things to move along. I'm feeling a lot of pressure below and baby has been doing his best to squeeze my bladder all day.

@MissKhan1990 you are due the day after me so hopefully we both have some good news soon 🤞🏻

jbx10 · 20/02/2021 19:04

@Newmumfeb2021 thank you!

I called at 9am this morning for my Time slot and they said beds were full and would likely be admitted this evening but booked me in to monitor her at 3pm. Anyway when I came in there was a bed available 🎉 so been in since around 4pm. Had first pessary at 5pm so we'll see fingers crossed it gets things moving. I had a bishop score of 4 when she checked which she seemed happy with, they will break my waters when it gets to 7!

Was awful saying goodbye to my OH but staying strong he'll be able to be here as soon as they can break my waters so staying positive ❤️

@017HF huge congratulations and great to hear you had a positive induction experience. I love the name max enjoy your time in your baby bubble 🎉🎉💜

faithfulbird20 · 20/02/2021 19:28

@MissKhan1990 don't worry hun I totally feel the same I've had a few cries this afternoon and have felt absolutely shattered having done nothing at all. Fingers crossed all our babies will be here soon. I think I'm due a day after you. Just in bed right now chilling with my toddler. Can't be bothered doing anything else.

faithfulbird20 · 20/02/2021 19:29

Congrats @017HF Smile

faithfulbird20 · 20/02/2021 19:32

@Muriel84 I'd check with triage hun. Do you think the 4km walk helped? I hope things progress for you soon and I hope you're okay xx

faithfulbird20 · 20/02/2021 19:34

I just feel like I need a really big cry full of sobs etc just to release tension anyone else feel the same? It's just the frustration I guess...

TeaPiglet · 20/02/2021 19:48

@Faithfulbird20 I did that this morning haha, think mine was absolutely just hormones and stress at the uncertainty of what my hospital will allow whenever labour starts

OP posts:
jbx10 · 20/02/2021 19:54

@faithfulbird20 I've been feeling that way today. No sleep last night an then waiting around today just got my hormones going. Had a cry to the MW when my OH dropped me off. We're at the final hurdle now it's no wonder our hormones are all over place xxx

MissKhan1990 · 20/02/2021 20:00

Crossing my fingers and anything else for all of us.xx we are nearly there xx

jbx10 · 20/02/2021 20:20

@MissKhan1990 definitely. Keep positive & focused. Babies will be in our arms soon ❤️

Newmumfeb2021 · 20/02/2021 22:01

@jbx10 hang in there! 🍀 💜 we’re here for entertainment 💃🏻

@Stef92 I had chilli chicken yesterday in an attempt and had a spicy curry tonight again. Got nothing except BH! 😟
