DH has made us a nice spicy curry and plan to dtd later which is a job in itself with my pgp lol must admit I told him he needs to pull his finger out Blush I was adamant it brought on our second as contractions started within hours but no joy so far. My back is in constant agony this evening too, I'm hoping baby hasn’t settled against my spine as had this with my first and it’s so painful when contractions kick in 🥴 can’t believe there’s 2 days until due date!

Newmumfeb2021 · 18/02/2021 19:52

I have found a very old link to positive induction stories - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2133299-To-ask-for-positive-induction-stories

@nursey1993 if you have seen any latest ones, please could you share?

@jbx10 partners can attend at my hospital, I am so glad and relieved! I would have felt awful without DH - I will be induced at birth centre which is in the hospital and then I have been told I will be transferred to a delivery suite once contractions begin and if I need an epidural.

My DH is also Man United supporter - and I think they have another match next Sunday as well and DH also watches cricket and next week is another Test match of England, so basically, he would be on phone the entire time! lol

Newmumfeb2021 · 18/02/2021 19:54

@Ariana87 I went for DTD during Valentines weekend and ended up with a terrible groin pain. So I have told DH no thanks for me - enough pains already! Poor DH though! 🥴

jbx10 · 18/02/2021 20:02

@Muriel84 😂 that made me laugh. Think I'm going to have to resort to sending that!! How are you doing? When is your next sweep booked?

@Newmumfeb2021 thanks for that I found a more recent one I'll tag you on it. What are they like with their sport! Well our hospital is due to give an update on partners in early labour so 🤞🏽🤞🏽 he'll be able to be there.

nursey1993 · 18/02/2021 20:06

@Newmumfeb2021 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childbirth/3222576-Induction-stories-always-bad this is the most recent i can get up, for some reason if i go in through my email browser it gives me more but i cant work out how to copy and paste the link ahah!

Im having a lot of BH tonight, going for a hot bath now with a bag of mini eggs and told my OH not to disturb me for an hour 🤣🤣 DTD is not high up on my list of things I want to do atm but maybe give it a go at the weekend again if i feel its essential haha

nursey1993 · 18/02/2021 20:12

Managed to get the link to the other one, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childbirth/3642396-Induction-stories

Newmumfeb2021 · 18/02/2021 21:17

Thank you @nursey1993 really hoping I am one of those who have 1 hour of labour and in 6 hours out of hospital 😂 Wishful thinking 🤞🏽

nursey1993 · 18/02/2021 22:08

@Newmumfeb2021 that would be the dream birth, I skipped past some of the other maybe not so positive ones 🤣🤣

Have any of youse had a stitch like pain down your side and know what it is ? Lol. Its really uncomfortable and the dreaded fanny daggers is back alongside it.

Theonewheretherewas4 · 18/02/2021 23:54

Hi ladies, Iv been mostly lurking as I’m not due till the 4th but Iv been induced with my second and third dc once two days early and the other two weeks both positive experiences I had the drip and from the moment it started to baby being born was two hours with both. Any questions please feel free to ask but just wanted to but a positive induction story out there.

faithfulbird20 · 19/02/2021 00:55

Hey guys I've been really unwell today. Just an update I don't think it was labour pains but side effects from taking cefalexin. The hospital midwife prescribed them and 2 days later hospital doctor told me I didn't have to take them if they were making me feel unwell. But I took 2 in the past 24 hours and omg the side effects were horrific. The backache and nausea which happened last time. I vomited all day and had 2 bad migraines. Now that it's out of my system I'm okay. But I vomited around 6 pm and there was blood. I was shocked. So I'm not taking it anymore and will give the doctors a ring tomorrow. Just going to drink loads of water for now. I hope you're okay. Feeling quite miserable. Toddler been upset with me too for not giving her enough time.

TeaPiglet · 19/02/2021 06:40

@Faithfulbird20 have you been retching before you vomited? Did the blood sit on top or was it mixed?

jbx10 · 19/02/2021 07:36

@Theonewheretherewas4 thank you for your positive induction story ❤️ feeling much better about the process after hearing positive experiences. Going to try and enjoy our last day/night as a two today! 😬

@faithfulbird20 sorry to hear you've been suffering those side effects, sounds awful. I wonder if the doctors are able to prescribe you with an alternative? Xx

Hi all! Sorry it’s been a whirlwind, my waters went at 38&2 on 1st Feb and our little girl arrived safely at 38&3 on 2nd Feb! She is just a dream, still can’t believe she’s here- it feels like she’s always been a part of our family. Breastfeeding going well and I’m loving the lockdown impact on maternity leave, no constant stream of visitors, we spent the first fortnight just in a gorgeous newborn bubble the 4 of us x

TeaPiglet · 19/02/2021 09:45

@Little11 awww congratulations! I'm glad you've enjoyed your space together, I can't wait until I give birth so I can have a break from my parents hahah

Congratulations @Little11 🎉💜

TeaPiglet · 19/02/2021 10:58

@Jbx10 how are you feeling about tomorrow? Are you ready?

OP posts:
jbx10 · 19/02/2021 11:06

@TeaPiglet Such a mix of emotions. I'm definitely excited and have comfort knowing she'll be here over the weekend. But also nervous too! It's a shame my OH cant be with me through the induction, but keeping positive that he's not far away. Going to make sure he has everything packed and ready to come as soon as he gets my call 😂

Stef92 · 19/02/2021 11:12

Good luck for tomorrow @jbx10 ☺️

We've just been told that the building work will continue beyond the middle of next week. Hubby isn't best pleased as it's taken two weeks longer than we expected - we did have heavy snow which delayed everything. Just hoping they can get wrapped up ASAP as there'll be far too many people in the house once baby makes his appearance with workmen/midwife/health visitor.

Newmumfeb2021 · 19/02/2021 11:15

@Little11 congratulations dear! 🎉

@faithfulbird20 awww, hope you feel better 💜

@Theonewheretherewas4 thank you for your story! Is it true that FTMs having induction is different and longer to induction for baby 2,3,...

Newmumfeb2021 · 19/02/2021 11:17

@Muriel84 how are you feeling? How was your sweep (If i remember correctly, it was yesterday)?

Newmumfeb2021 · 19/02/2021 11:18

@jbx10 keep us updated tomorrow! Good luck hun! ❤️

jbx10 · 19/02/2021 11:19

@Stef92 thank you! 💜 that's really annoying for you, but at least you know it'll be finished by mid next week. Hopefully baby holds out until at least due date to give you some time.

@Newmumfeb2021 thank you. Will do! I'm sure I'll be on moaning to you all since I'll be on the ward on my own 😂🙈 my friend is a MW and she's told me to expect it to take 24-48hrs to work as a FTM x
