@Jbx10 just make sure you trust your body and the thing I say all the time... Keep moving and don't lay on your back haha. I wish someone had told me for my induction. But bouncing on the ball, going in the bath etc are all really good. They have to monitor baby for at least 30 mins when starting induction but then you could ask for intermittent or wireless so you can move more. You've got options and you're the boss plus you've got this in the bag!

@Newmumfeb2021 I wasn’t induced with my first, my waters broke with no early signs of labour at all. No 2 and 3 were due to slow/static growth. Number 1 was still only 7 hours from waters breaking to him arriving and with 2 and 3 sweeps and pessary didn’t do anything it wasn’t until I had the drip that things kicked in.

Muriel84 · 19/02/2021 12:44

@jbx10 @Newmumfeb2021 I had my sweep this morning thanks for remembering! Definitely the most painful of the three I’ve had but my cervix has moved to the middle and I’m 2cm! 🥳 had a few contractions since of varying lengths and some dark brown discharge, presumably old blood from sweep Tuesday. Been for a long walk now on my ball trying to get things going.

If not I’ll be in on Monday for induction so just behind you jbx. I won’t need pessary as already dilating so will go straight to getting my waters broken. Then the drip. Midwife was great today. Have some v honest advice. I will get an epidural first if I need the drip. She advised it cos FTM labours can be long and I need to not be exhausted by the time I have to push. So no water birth and no birthing centre unless this baby decides to make an appearance before Monday. Really hope it does and this movement doesn’t fizzle out. Thanks for the advice @TeaPiglet I will try to keep active and will have a bath later too x x x

TeaPiglet · 19/02/2021 12:59

@Muriel84 exciting times for you then!! If you start getting contractions and need pain relief I found a rolled up towel under my head in the bath while somebody else slowly poured warm water over my bump helped loads but everyone is different so try different positions etc

Good luck with the upcoming inductions ladies! How exciting to know babies will soon be here Smile

Can I ask if any of you have lost your mucus plug? I’ve never lost it or just didn’t notice it with my previous so not sure what it’s meant to look like. I had really intense constant back ache last night, period cramps and (tmi) a clear out. Braxton hicks were every 5 minutes. Have had this twice before though the last two weeks and as before it’s all tailed off by this morning.

faithfulbird20 · 19/02/2021 13:39

@teapiglet yeah I had and it came out in a little handful first and then a small blob. I just have irritated my gut lining because I thought what did I eat that was red? Then realised it was blood.

I feel a bit better today thanks.

jbx10 · 19/02/2021 13:48

@TeaPiglet thanks for the tips! Will try to keep moving as much as I can

@Muriel84 🤞🏽 things get moving for you before Monday. I think I would still be able to have a water birth if they are able to get things going use pessary but we will see. Keeping an open mind to anything really, as long as she arrives safe & sound that's all im focusing on ❤️ did she suggest an epidural only if you need to have the drip?

Could be another busy weekend on the thread! 😬

Hey everyone,

Sorry I've not commented - the news about Safs little boy hit me quite hard and I just couldn't bring myself to comment.

I have a question for anyone who's waters have broken in the past. I woke up feeling wet last night, went to the loo, leaked and then peed. When I called triage they
asked me to put a pad in and monitor - not much more than really watery discharge. When I got there the midwife used a speculum and couldn't see anything but said she didn't want to send me home incase. She asked me to hand around for half an hour with a new pad then come back - there was a shift change and the new midwife just checked my pad and again there was a bit of discharge.

I can't tell if my waters have gone or if for the first time in my pregnancy I'm unable to control my bladder Blush

Has anyone got any tips on distinguishing? This may be tmi but the stuff in my pad smells a bit like sperm and is pale yellow.

Thanks x

ExhaustedMumofsix · 19/02/2021 14:43

Congratulations! 🎉 @clockspanner and @little11 🎉 xx

Piccalily19 · 19/02/2021 15:29

@BL89 my waters went slowly, like id just wet myself a bit then had a real gush about 4-5 hours later! But I did describe it to my partner as smelling spermy!
Try a gentle walk around the house? When I was getting my stuff together walking round meant more little bits kept coming out for me

Char41zam · 19/02/2021 15:45

Hi ladies, just to let you know I have been speaking with Saf and she is in hospital getting induced, she can’t post on the old thread and didn’t want to start a new one but she wants you all to know she is thinking of you all and that she wishes you all well for having your babies x

Newmumfeb2021 · 19/02/2021 15:57

@BL89 I read that waters don't smell - so likely that's not the case if it smells? Hope you get some other symptoms soon!

@Muriel84 good luck! hope you start getting stronger contractions soon!

@Ariana87 I saw some tiny white bit (much like egg white) on my liner earlier today, but that's about it. Sorry not helpful!

I have been having a lot of bowel movements and clear outs every few days, but no other symptoms really!

Stef92 · 19/02/2021 16:04

@BL89 I'm in the same position, have just called the hospital asking what to do and they said just put a pad on and try not to go to the loo unless I absolutely need to - I've been going every 10-15 mins for the last few hours! I need to monitor the pad the next few hours

Stef92 · 19/02/2021 16:04

@Char41zam thanks for letting us know. My heart breaks for her, I just can't imagine what she's going through

Muriel84 · 19/02/2021 17:09

Thanks ladies. Just having a bath now as feeling very tired and crampy. Contractions seem to have settled a little. Had a few small ones.

@jbx10 yup she recommended an epidural if I needed the drip cos it’s first baby and could take a while. I’m not sure if I can have a water birth if they break my waters but I don’t need the drip... I hope so!

I’ve had a lot of mucous plug over the last week but I think that’s cos it gets dislodged with every sweep. Had a load more today too.

@Char41zam thank you for letting us know. Please pass on my love, I know we’re all thinking about her constantly. X x x

BL89 · 19/02/2021 17:22

@Piccalily19 I called them back as I kept losing more and they asked me to come back in - apparently they can test the liquid to see if it is or isn't - not sure why they didn't when I came in this morning.

Thanks @Newmumfeb2021 - I really just want an answer to what the fluid is - there's been so much that if this isn't my waters then I don't know what is!

@Stef92 so tough isn't it as your instinct is to not get all wet down there 😅

BL89 · 19/02/2021 17:23

Thanks for the update @Char41zam - she's really been on my mind so much x

jbx10 · 19/02/2021 18:06

@Char41zam thank you for the update ❤️please send her our love

@Muriel84 okay that makes sense. I'll have a good chat with the MW tomorrow before we get things started. I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight 😂🙈 but I know I need to try her as much rest as possible. Definitely sounds like things are moving for you, I dont think you will need induction on Monday! X

TeaPiglet · 19/02/2021 19:27

I'll do a list update Tuesday probably btw seeing as there's loads of due dates, inductions and sweeps going on haha. Best of luck to you all ladies 💕💕

@BL89 id bet it is your waters, good luck ☺️
@Char41zam thanks for the update, I’ve been thinking about her a lot x

Muriel84 · 19/02/2021 23:02

@jbx10 awww it is so exciting! Hope you get some rest and everything goes smoothly tomorrow x x x

jbx10 · 19/02/2021 23:36

@Muriel84 thank you! I had a call a couple of hours ago to say they might call me in through the night which is just going to make it so hard for me to sleep now! 😂🙈 going to try my best to get some rest. Hope your feeling ok xx

Ariana87 · 19/02/2021 23:48

@jbx10 good luck!
@Muriel84 good luck for tomorrow!

I’m hoping things are starting for me too! Have had increasingly uncomfortable tightenings through the day and evening. They were coming every 12 minutes for hours but seem to have gone a little haywire in the last hour and getting closer together around every 8-9 minutes. Having to breathe through but still manageable at the moment. Fingers crossed things progress overnight and not another false alarm 🤞🏽

Muriel84 · 20/02/2021 05:06

@jbx10 oh gosh! How you meant to sleep after being told that?!

@Ariana87 thank you! Sounds like things have really gone up a gear for you! Good luck! I’m still getting the odd random cramps and tightenings so no change. Managed to sleeps few hours tho. Xxx

nursey1993 · 20/02/2021 07:10

Good luck today @jbx10, hope all goes well!

@Muriel84 i hope you arent waiting too much longer for things to really start for you! At least Monday ain't too far off if needs be !

Made it to due date ❤ Allbeit with no signs of labour 🤣
