@jbx10 Leila had hers and has her second ones on Friday, the cry she let off was horrible and then she settled but she did a really sore cry when she woke up but they gave me paracetamol for her so that helped, dreading Fridays x

017HF · 21/04/2021 13:42

@jbx10 Max had his first jags last Friday morning, let out an almighty scream when they were being done but other than that he was fine. I did give him the three recommended doses of calpol and kept checking his temperature as it was a little high. He slept almost all of Friday and Saturday but was back to normal on Sunday and has been absolutely fine since! Hope everything goes okay for you today - I’m sure it will! X

jbx10 · 21/04/2021 15:18

@Char41zam @017HF glad your babies were both ok ❤️ Mylas just had hers the scream was awful it's just heartbreaking to see isn't it but she seems ok now. Given her first dose of paracetamol & she just seems sleepy. Will keep an eye on her temperature thank you for the tip xxx

Hi everyone,
I’m new to this thread so I hope I’m in the right place. I’ve noticed that the title for this thread is based on when I gave birth so I’m hoping someone will be able to help me based on it being relatively current experience

I breastfed my first baby 3 years ago with whom I got cracked nipples. One was fairly deep which healed at the time as I thought fairly fine. However I’m now breastfeeding my second and I’ve noticed that that breast has a slight dent round about where the scar is so my nipple isn’t the perfect round that it used to be.. I wouldn’t say it’s inverted inwards. But there’s definitely a difference in shape that’s more prominent as my nipple becomes erect with breastfeeding. Please tell me there’s others that have this.

I have been referred to the breast clinic for reassurance do you to another lump in the same breast breast but I wanted som positive stories. I’m rather worried

Apologies for the long message!

jbx10 · 07/06/2021 16:07

Wow I can't believe our babies are turning 4 months old, time is flying by!!

Just wanted to pop a message on to say hope everyone and their babies are okay and enjoying motherhood! We've had a tough few days with lack of sleep thinking it might be the heat.

Starting to research weaning as I know it'll soon come round. It's just one minefield after another!! Anyway, sending lots of love to you all xx❤️

Char41zam · 08/06/2021 10:47

Leila turned 4 months on the 30th and she has taken quite the growth spurt! I have already tried her with some banana porridge but she wasn’t sure at all, going to try her with some more soon x

jbx10 · 08/06/2021 11:11

Oh wow! That's amazing. Myla turns 4 months on Monday I wanted to try her with some frozen breast milk popsicles but I wasn't sure if she was too young might give it ago! Is Leila sitting up on her own? Xx

017HF · 08/06/2021 11:26

@jbx10 funnily enough I was thinking about this thread the other day before your post and thinking there hadn’t been any chat for a while! I can’t believe how quickly the time is going! How’s the sleep going now? Is your wee one maybe going through the 4 month sleep regression early? X

jbx10 · 08/06/2021 18:28

@017HF I know it's really flying isn't it. Still a long way off but I just don't ever want to go back to work and I never thought I'd say that!! I think she is. Cross your fingers for me tonight she's gone straight down hopefully it'll last through the night xx

LBoz39 · 08/06/2021 18:42

Hi everyone.
Isla is 3 months old now, I was due on 23rd Feb but she was 2 weeks late... too comfy me thinks.
I was also thinking about this thread and wondering how everyone was getting on 😊

Isla is doing well but trying to settle her for a sleep is pretty much non existent! She'll either snooze when I'm breast feeding her then wake as soon as I put her down or grizzle if I rock her in the pram/moses basket.
Anyone got any advice as to how to settle their babys? She sleeps well through the night so can't complain but could do with a little break in the day even if its just an hour.
Pretty tired mummy here 🤣

Hey ladies has anyone experienced post partum hair loss? I have it really bad and I’m losing all my hair it’s so so sad, I have bald patches at the sides of my hair and it’s coming out in handfuls in the shower, I have long hair and I think I will have to cut it off I am gutted x

Stef92 · 11/06/2021 11:23

James only turned 3 months last week as he ended up being a March baby. We've been lucky to find a baby sensory class and swimming class that had spaces on and he's loving both. He's just started to refuse being put down for a nap, he has to decide otherwise he screams the place down!!

I have bought a recipe book in preparation for weening and I'm surprised how many of them have paprika as an ingredient

I've noticed I'm pulling more hair out than usual when I brush it but haven't noticed any patches. I'm at the hairdressers in a few weeks so I'll ask her about it)

jbx10 · 11/06/2021 12:16

@Char41zam I'm losing a lot of hair at the moment too and another mum mentioned the same at one of my baby classes.

@Stef92 we love baby sensory!! I've just booked Myla on for swimming i was worried she was a bit young but I think it'll be good! We went on a little holiday last week and she loved the pool xx

I better get reading up on weaning I think she'll be ready before 6 months x

Stef92 · 11/06/2021 16:23

@jbx10 I took James as soon as we were signed off from the doctor at 7 weeks old and it's been fab for him, he's not joining in with the splashing yet but loves following the water and the nursery rhymes that are sung in the class. You can get the proper swimming nappies (happy nappy) from Amazon for like £10 - they are so good and then the disposable swimming nappy from a supermarket He did a poo the first time we went (shock) and there was no leakage!

James watches everything we eat so I think he'll be ready for food earlier than 6 months as well

LBoz39 · 11/06/2021 17:52

We do baby sensory on a Wednesday which Isla loves, and starting bubble tots swimming next Monday. 🤞 she loves it, I can't wait to get back in the pool myself either, missed the pool when I was pregnant and my joints could have done with it. We are on our last baby massage class next week which she's enjoyed and it's a lovely excuse to get out and meet new mums

Newmumfeb2021 · 17/06/2021 10:11

Wow so good to see this thread being chatty again 😀. I never knew about the baby classes. My bub is turning 4 months old next week. I’ll search for these classes now. Since my paid maternity leave is ending I’m also thinking of sending him to a nursery/ day care and joining work gradually. What are everyone’s thoughts about this? I’m getting some flak from my family for sending him too soon.

@Char41zam I’m losing a lot of hair as well. I’ve been put on iron tablets by my GP. Hopefully that’ll help.

jbx10 · 17/06/2021 13:33

@Newmumfeb2021 sounds like a good idea to me easing him in to it. I think I'll send my little one to nursery a day a week for a couple of months before I'm due back to work to get her used to it and also to give me some time to get sorted. When are you due back to work? X

Newmumfeb2021 · 17/06/2021 15:18

@jbx10 I’m starting to work 1 day a week from July. I’ll raise it to 1-2 days a week in August. Bub starts his nursery from 1st September. So DH and I are thinking of sending him a couple of hours twice a week to begin with and gradually increase the time.

jbx10 · 17/06/2021 15:27

@Newmumfeb2021 sounds sensible to me!
I don't know about anyone else but the constant critics from others has been the hardest part of being a new mum!! Do what you feel is best for you & your LO xx

Newmumfeb2021 · 17/06/2021 15:31

@jbx10 thanks hun for being so kind! 🤗❤️
