@Char41zam I wonder if it's brought it home to you that bit more because of everything you and Leila went through together. All we can do is acknowledge those thoughts and keep cherishing the time we do have with our kids.

@Ariana87 it's good to have some perspective but it's all relative to the individual. Doesn't make your fears any less significant to you but just try to trust your body

I think it’s gotten to everyone. I’ve been so anxious all night with disturbed sleep. I’ve been constantly talking to my baby in the tummy and feeling relaxed every few hours with baby’s movements. Since I joined the threads in January, I’ve noted Saf was very positive and would send positive vibes to everyone, listen and respond to everyone. So I do feel very bad as well. But trying to stay positive for myself.

Good luck to everyone with some symptoms of labour at all - we need positive stories back together for our sanity and our babies’ well being 🍀 💜

LBoz39 · 18/02/2021 13:01

Congratulations @Clockspanner

LBoz39 · 18/02/2021 13:05

Thank you @TeaPiglet for setting up a new thread

faithfulbird20 · 18/02/2021 13:59

I'm 39 weeks today. Vag feels like it's going to fall off and thigh pain. Back pain there too. What could it be and is anyone else feeling it? I'm going to go sit in the bath for a bit.

I still have to go Aldi and get a sleep pod. But omg this thigh pain isn't good. My ears and head are also hurting.

Stef92 · 18/02/2021 14:33

@faithfulbird20 I'm having similar, thought I had a bit of mucus type discharge this morning too but nothing since. I'm 39+2 today

Ariana87 · 18/02/2021 14:48

@faithfulbird20 could it be baby has engaged or engaged further into your pelvis? Has your midwife wrote on your notes from your last app?

My little one has been bobbing in and out of my pelvis since 34 weeks, engaging and disengaging (which apparently is common with later babies) I can feel when baby has engaged again as the pressure increases and feels like baby is literally in my vagina ready to drop out, the thighs ache a lot and back aches also increase and I seem to have lots more discharge (sorry tmi)

jbx10 · 18/02/2021 15:05

Hi ladies sorry been quiet. I haven't been able to bring myself to read saffs post and then I've felt guilty for not reading it to be able to show support. So heartbreaking 💔 Just can't bear the thought. all you ladies have just been so supportive, grateful to be part of this community.

Sorry I've not caught up Through all the comments. I hope everyone is ok and fingers crossed things won't be too long for all those ladies showing symptoms. I had my final growth scan today & booked in for an induction on Saturday as baby is still measuring small. Feeling nervous but also happy to know it is booked in. I would love if anyone had any positive induction stories ❤️xxx

Char41zam · 18/02/2021 15:09

@TeaPiglet you are right I think it’s just made it all so very real, I hope we can bring her even just a little support and comfort.

@jbx10 good luck for Saturday xx

Newmumfeb2021 · 18/02/2021 15:21

@jbx10 good luck for induction, is there a thread on induction by any chance ? I’d love to read positive stories as well. Perhaps we can start one to ask other ladies?

I’m being induced next Saturday on my due date. So if not sooner, baby is going to be here next weekend 😊

@faithfulbird20 I’m 38+5 (almost there) and I have similar pelvic pain, hip pain and pain in vag. But I think that’s when I sit too long in one position.

I’ve also been having a lottttt of discharge last few days. Think it’s my mucus plug coming bit by bit? No blood though.

jbx10 · 18/02/2021 15:25

@Newmumfeb2021 that's a good idea 🥰 is there any reason why they are inducing you on your due date? Do they not want to let you go over? Mine is just because babies been measuring on the 10th percentile throughout!

I'm also getting a lot of pelvic pain & discharge. Think the pain is when I've not been active so trying to keep walking around the house as much as poss!

Newmumfeb2021 · 18/02/2021 15:33

@jbx10 I’ve been having low AFI since my growth scan at 36 weeks. They had put out 4 reasons for low fluid but nothing seemed to be the case for me. So they’re doing weekly scans to monitor this. Also, baby has been measuring fine as per tape measurements but on US scan at 36 weeks baby was 21 percentile and at 38 weeks earlier this week was 29 percentile. So definitely an improvement. But they don’t want to risk it beyond my due date. I’m sure that their reasoning is sound. I don’t want to risk anything either. 😊

jbx10 · 18/02/2021 15:44

@Newmumfeb2021 makes total sense. It's nice that is booked in for you as well so you just know that it's coming up. I must admit I feel relieved to know mine is booked for Saturday just to know that things will get moving over the weekend. It's a shame partners can't attend for induction at my local trust, but we're not too far from the hospital so not too bad. OH better keep his phone on loud 😂

nursey1993 · 18/02/2021 15:53

Sounds like you could be nearing close @faithfulbird20! My midwife had said to me some ladies feel labour pains in their thighs and hips rather than bump/back! Keep us posted !

@jbx10 ive been sat reading about inductions today, there is a couple of threads! Saturday is my due date but I dont think she will make an appearance, aside from slight increase in discharge no other signs! Hopefully all goes well for induction, at least it will be in a controlled environment & you can tell us all about it and your little baby should be in your arms by the end of the week ❤

Was at MW yesterday cause of my swelling, they thought may have been Preeclampsia but BP only slightly raised so happy enough its Carpal Tunnel & will just sweep me on Tuesday and book induction date! But the student had wrote 4/5 palpable after previous MW at last app had wrote 3/5, so not convinced we are anywhere near! 🙄 Plus Liverpool is playing Saturday so my partner has told me we are time enough to wait till at least sunday haha.

At least we are all at the last hurdle ❤

jbx10 · 18/02/2021 15:58

@nursey1993 oh fab I will have a search through some threads and read through. I will let you all know for definite once I've had mine too ❤️ 😂 my OH has said the same thing about Sunday, man united playing 🙈 I hope she makes her appearance whilst the game is on!! Haha.

Good you were able to get a double check & glad it's not pre-eclampsia! Final hurdle almost there. My feet are definitely swollen struggling to get them in my shoes now xx

nursey1993 · 18/02/2021 16:13

@jbx10 sometimes i dunno if your as well reading ahead or not haha!! But the only good thing from an induction is at least you know they will be here, spontanous labour is too much of a waiting game! I'm defs starting to get a bit scunnered with the "well any signs yet" comments haha, especially when i havent got to the impatient stage yet myself ! Wee sign or 2 that she was close to coming would be nice all the same!
I know i said that too it would be our luck that I'd go during the game but he'd be looking at his phone for updates constantly haha! Or we've said itll be some night we have my stepdaughter and we will have to get his mum down to watch her, baby will definitely not come at a convenient time 🤣

Oh dont talk about shoes, I went a walk with my friend the other day, by time i got my trainers on and stood up i had an ACTUAL sweaty upper lip from how difficult it was 🤣🤣🤣 I will not take for granted putting on shoes or knickers in a few seconds ever again lol! Xx

MissKhan1990 · 18/02/2021 16:14

Good afternoon to all

Had my midwife appointment today. Booked for a sweep next Thursday as l will be 40+1.

Midwife also recommended sex and long walks

nursey1993 · 18/02/2021 16:40

"Hot baths, hot sex and hot curry" is my midwife's favourite recommendations lol @MissKhan1990

Stef92 · 18/02/2021 16:56

We wouldn't be too disappointed if he decided to make his appearance on Sunday during the football as Newcastle are so bad lol

I've managed to go for walks now that the ice rink cleared up at the beginning of the week, hubby reckoned bump had dropped when I came back from my walk on Tuesday but I still feel as if the baby is quite high as his knees seem to still be near my ribs when he digs in

Summertime1992 · 18/02/2021 17:05

Well I had my first sweep today, caused cramps while she was doing it but I have had worse smears, she said she gave it a good sweep so fingers crossed.

No real signs yet, very small amount of blood stained mucus and a couple of intermitten cramps.

She said I was 1cm dilated which she said was good for a first child and scored a 6 on the bishop score said my cervix was anterior and low but still a little resistant so not sure it will be a sucess.

TeaPiglet · 18/02/2021 17:37

That's really good to say you're not overdue @Summertime1992, fingers crossed it sets things in motion

jbx10 · 18/02/2021 17:40

@nursey1993 oh gosh don't I'm so sick of those messages. I know people mean well but they would know if the baby had arrived! I started ignoring them but then everyone thought I was in labour so that wasn't the best idea 😂 glad I'm not the only one, can't wait to be able to put shoes and knickers on without feeling like I'm in the olympics!! 😂

@MissKhan1990 glad you've got your sweep booked hope it progresses things for you 🤞🏽

I am just ordering my spicy curry now, hoping to DTD tonight and a long walk tomorrow. Want to cover all basis so hopefully my induction won't go on too long 😂🙈

Muriel84 · 18/02/2021 18:21

@jbx10 @nursey1993

Just send them this link....

TeaPiglet · 18/02/2021 18:24

I've stopped DTD as it was at least once a day about a week ago and nothing at all. No signs whatsoever and I now properly can't be F-ed much to DH dismay. Spicy food did nothing and I have SPD so rules walking out. I'm going to pregnant for the rest of time 🙄😂

OP posts:
TeaPiglet · 18/02/2021 18:54

Sent DH out for a tonne of maccies, feeling fed up that everyone said I'd have baby quite early but I'm close to overdue now and can't sleep. Body aches but not in a bloody productive way, just in the irritating carrying an extra 20-30lbs pregnant lol
