Hope you get home soon @faithfulbird20, I hate hospitals and I think you recover better at home I also think your right as I have not heard so many story’s of people having issues including myself!

faithfulbird20 · 01/03/2021 02:30

@TeaPiglet hi I've just been given labetalol for high blood pressure. Omg my baby is in NICU and I'm upstairs in a normal room with 3 other babies crying the place down. Poor kids...anyone else feeling a bit strange after childbirth. I'm really missing my 3 year old daughter.

faithfulbird20 · 01/03/2021 02:31

Thanks @Char41zam I'm missing my toddler. I've never left her by herself without me and she constantly asks my sister for her mummy. I hope I can get out of hospital sooner.

Char41zam · 01/03/2021 04:30

@faithfulbird20 I am on Labetelol and I was on Nifedipene but that was making me ill and they don’t know why they left me on that, hope you get home soon to your toddler and baby gets out of NICU soon xx

faithfulbird20 · 01/03/2021 08:58

Yh labetol spiked my blood pressure up high last night and I was given nifedipine. Hopefully she'll be off her oxygen today and glucose tomorrow. Thank you x

TeaPiglet · 01/03/2021 17:07

DH has to leave me at 8pm, gutted. This ward is definitely going to be boring tonight

Stef92 · 01/03/2021 17:40

@TeaPiglet has he been allowed to be with you since you were admitted? My husband isn't allowed in until I'm 4cm dilated. How is it going?

Stef92 · 01/03/2021 18:09

Just been called by the hospital and I will be admitted for induction tomorrow at 5pm.. would've preferred that time to have been in the morning to get this over and done with 🙄

TeaPiglet · 01/03/2021 20:26

My appointment was at 10am, both me and DH had rapid flow test for covid and had to wait half an hour. Onto ward to my bed then could take masks off. Monitor for half an hour, cervix check then decided on pessary as its closed still, monitor for half an hour. 3-4hrs later another monitor then no changes. No twinges etc. Husband was here with me 10am-8pm and back tomorrow 9am for rapid flow so I'll see him 9:30am onwards ready for pessary out at approx 11am

faithfulbird20 · 02/03/2021 02:39

Good luck to both of you guys and don't worry it will happen so soon you'll forget about the wait. @TeaPiglet @Stef92

TeaPiglet · 02/03/2021 08:07

@Faithfulbird20 I hope so, just fed up that I'm having to do literally a full induction and I'm overdue whilst trying for VBAC. I'm very aware that the odds are not in my favour

OP posts:
Stef92 · 02/03/2021 08:28

Thank you @faithfulbird20 . I'm anxious as I've never stopped overnight in hospital so I'm hoping he gets a move on and decides that the eviction should happen sooner rather than later.

@TeaPiglet I hope things happen for you soon, do you think they'll recommend a section of labour doesn't happen for you today? X

TeaPiglet · 02/03/2021 09:00

@Stef92 the might but there's no real reason to do it. My kidneys are fine and no is fine and baby's doing well and is very slowly doing the right things like moving down so I might decide to leave it a few more days but then I'm risking a huuuge baby 🙄

TeaPiglet · 02/03/2021 16:22

Good luck today @Stef92

Stef92 · 02/03/2021 17:00

Thank you @TeaPiglet - I'm just waiting to be seen now. Any progress for you today? X

TeaPiglet · 02/03/2021 17:06

@Stef92 no change so we just spoke to the doctor and waiting for consultant opinion now but I'm going home, back daily for monitoring then I'll be back as in patient Friday for resumed induction if this stubborn child hasn't been born

TeaPiglet · 02/03/2021 21:08

@Stef92 how are you doing?

OP posts:
Stef92 · 02/03/2021 21:47

@TeaPiglet I've had the pessary gel and will be getting checked at midnight/1am to see how things are going. Got some back ache at the moment but no contractions. Are you at home now?

nursey1993 · 02/03/2021 23:15

Just getting a chance to catch up, congrats to all youse who have had your babies 💕 Its such a whirlwind the time goes in that quick once they're born!

Good luck to both of you @TeaPiglet and @Stef92 for your babies coming, all being well youse will both be holding them very soon! Speedy inductions & labours for both of youse would be lovely after all this time 👌

Muriel84 · 03/03/2021 08:54

@TeaPiglet that’s very kind of saf, she has been in my thoughts too. Please send her my love. We have been booked in for a birth reflections clinic in a few months. Good luck with your induction! Keep us posted x x x

Baby girl born 27/2/21 - 8lbs 11 oz 18:45

I was forceps with first daughter and a fairly quick labour! Second time I was 2 days in labour and ended up in a section she was literally too comfy and labour never progressed past 6cms! They think she might have just been too big for me! So for me second babies do not come faster which everyone kept telling me 🤣

LBoz39 · 03/03/2021 10:48

Congratulations @Bambino87 🎉
I can vouch for that, my second took nearly 20 hours with forceps at the end and everyone was telling me "2 hours max"😂 don't think mine got the memo

LBoz39 · 03/03/2021 10:49

Hoping this one is a little easier 3rd time around

Stef92 · 04/03/2021 00:21

James was born at 16.21 on 03/03/21 weighing 8lbs 5.

I got induced on the 2nd and had my waters broken at 1.30am on the 3rd. What happened from there was eventful. The waters caused James to become distressed and pooed in the womb and his heart rate became difficult to track. My labour progressed far quicker than anyone expected and I was 5cm with no pain relief at 4.30am with baby back to back and the epidural was the only way forward. I was 8cm dilated at my next check. Then his heart rate was becoming too fast and they wanted to do a csection. They then changed their mind and got me to change positions and took some blood from his scalp to confirm there was nothing wrong. It took a lot longer to go from 8cm to 10cm and each examination stressed James out. Once I reached 10cm they wanted me to wait an hour before pushing but I knew I was ready to push - it was hard to fight the feeling. They began this extra hour and his heat rate was going up and up - they checked his position and he was no longer back to back, he'd began to tilt back to being front to back but hadn't quite made it. They said I had two options, forceps to turn him or a csection if that was unsuccessful. We went for the forceps and luckily it worked but I have a tear and stitches and will require physio.

I'm currently sat in hospital, watching my little boy in his cot as the bed beside me is snoring like a freight train.

TeaPiglet · 04/03/2021 00:45

Congratulations @Stef92, sounds like this little one will keep you on your toes. I can sympathise with the snoring as a woman was snoring on my ward recently haha
