@Blossom428 I was worried about this when pregnant too! But Guinny is literally in little rompers or vests in this heat, just the cotton short sleeved ones, the h snd m organic cotton ones are so so light and airy!

Honestly make the most of this last week or two! I know I would of ignored anyone who said that. But my god the sleep deprivation is killer!!!! I'm so excited to hear when you've had him! Are you any close wirh A name? X

Blossom428 · 16/07/2021 11:06

Yea I've got a few little rompers from H&M!

@AnxiousAnnie86 aw I know, I am getting all my jobs done though which I've kept putting off so I'm quite glad for having this time to do it ☺️ struggling to sleep though, but least can rest in the day when I need it!
Are you settling into a routine now? Although hard with a newborn I guess xx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 16/07/2021 11:17

@Blossom428 somewhat, it's hard as she's ever changing, during the first two weeks she did nothing but sleep allllll day, to the point I was worried and was actually having to wake her to feed! But the last two she's much more awake so it's been about finding a balance in there! I'm starting to find a routine these last few days though, just hard when you are exhausted 😂😂

I bet you are getting so so excited now! I miss being pregnant so much! I never ever thought I would x

Aw yeah I bet!! And this heat won't help. I made my partner get a paddling pool so I've been sitting in that this weekend haha! @AnxiousAnnie86

I'm already knowing I'm going to miss my bump and feeing him kicking inside me, but can imagine he'll keep me on my toes even more so outside the womb! So ready for him to come now.
Got a stretch and sweep booked for my 40week midwife appt on Thursday- I know they aren't always affective but thought I would try and then at least too she can give an indication of how my cervix is (if he's not here by then)!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 18/07/2021 06:50

I really feel sorry for all you pregnant ladies in this heat! I was miserable when I was pregnant during the June heatwave! Guins grown out of two sizes already! And it makes me so so sad!!!!

Oh my God, it's 28 degrees INSIDE my house. 😭😭😭
Solidarity, ladies! 🥵

AnxiousAnnie86 · 19/07/2021 16:54

@TheOrangeMonster it's horrid isn't it!! Honestly feeding a newborn in this and having them cling on you is awful! She's like a hot water bottle! X

@Blossom428 how are you doing? Do you think you'll go over? EDD is tomorrow right?

Blossom428 · 21/07/2021 17:20

Awww she is adorableeeee @AnxiousAnnie86 !!!

Gosh yeah part of me like please don't go into labour Just yet as I don't know how I will handle a newborn in this heat, it's bad enough being 40weeks and a whale 😂🙈

@TheOrangeMonster
Yes EDD is tomorrow! No signs really, bit of cramping but not turned into anything yet.
Midwife tomorrow who will do a stretch&sweep so fingers crossed that might kick start something- and at least she can feel to see if my cervix is actually doing anything yet.

How are you doing @SS123456

SS123456 · 21/07/2021 18:10

@Blossom428 Apart from melting in the heat I'm doing ok thanks. I'm 35 weeks so not too much longer to go now thankfully 🤞🏻😁. Keep us posted on the impending arrival! ❤️

TheOrangeMonster · 21/07/2021 20:27

@Blossom428 so you really need baby to hold off until Saturday so that the heatwave has broken then 😅
Are you still trying to do anything to get it going or have you given up? I might genuinely start eating dates - still not sure if this C-section will be a thing.
@SS123456 when's your EDD?

Did anyone do perineal massage? I can't reach but I'm going to get DH to do it for me, bless him. He's got this week off, so we spent this morning putting the cot together (I think I might've lost weight with how sweaty we both got!) and we sat in the paddling pool for ages.

SS123456 · 22/07/2021 07:03

@TheOrangeMonster I'm due the 26th August so not too long now 😊

I didn't do perineal massage with either of my pregnancies as the thought of it made me feel funny. I have scar tissue there now from my previous tear and episiotomy and don't really like the feeling of those being touched

Blossom428 · 22/07/2021 07:12

Oooo 35 weeks!! Not long to go @SS123456

@TheOrangeMonster yeah I've been doing it all haha. Walks, dates, raspberry leaf tea, bit of clary sage, harvesting colostrum, even some pineapple 😂🙈 and lots of bouncing on the ball. Feeling a lot of pressure down below and like hurts when my legs are closed, so he must be still engaged right down there. See what the midwife says today.

I've tried a couple of times with the perineal massage but haven't really bothered, it's hard to do, and defo wouldn't want my partner down there doing it 😂🙈

Blossom428 · 22/07/2021 16:39

@AnxiousAnnie86 @TheOrangeMonster @SS123456
Just had my stretch and sweep- cervix too high so she couldn't reach it boooo!!
Booked in for another Sunday, then Thursday. And induction booked for 1st august if nothing by then!
Praying he comes before then and just wants a little more time to chill haha!
Feel a bit deflated though as was hoping for a bit of progress!

AnxiousAnnie86 · 22/07/2021 17:39

@Blossom428 happy due date!!! I started with labour two days before my c section and honestly it was totally totally out of the blue no signs before!!! So it literally could be any second now! My sister swore by a clary sage bath bomb from lush!!!

OP posts:
TheOrangeMonster · 23/07/2021 09:04

@Blossom428 takeaway curry? 😅

Blossom428 · 23/07/2021 23:33

Really hoping so 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 I've got clary sage that I do put in the bath. Just trying to keep my self busy and distracted. Hopefully he'll come soon.
I've got the 'is he here yet, any signs?' Questions coming in thick and fast 🙈🙈

Blossom428 · 26/07/2021 08:03

Guys.... he's here!! Can't believe it.
24.7.21 he was born. Whirl wind of a day, contracting from 5am, went to the birth centre tried the water untill I was 4cm, then was really struggling so asked for epidural, by the time I got that it was 8pm and I was 6-7cm dilated. Then his heart rate dropped and his head was at a funny angle so ended up having to have emergency c section which was all quite dramatic.
But all totally worth it as he is just beautiful.
Named him Harley 🥰

TheOrangeMonster · 26/07/2021 09:27

@Blossom428 well done! What a wild ride that sounds like - congratulations on your lovely new son! 😊

AnxiousAnnie86 · 26/07/2021 09:44

@Blossom428 awww!!!! Congratulations! What a lovely name!!! How are you feeling after the section? Xxx

OP posts:
SS123456 · 27/07/2021 08:31

@Blossom428 amazing news, congratulations! 😁❤️

Blossom428 · 28/07/2021 08:02

Thank you all @SS123456 @AnxiousAnnie86 @TheOrangeMonster

Recovery is going okay actually. A bit of pain but not too bad. Trying to take it steady.
Mills come in today and my boobs are rock hard and sore!!
Struggling latching a bit, he just falls asleep or cries at my boob. So this is tough. Have a pump coming today so going to try express if I can.

How are you getting on @AnxiousAnnie86

And the pregnant ones still @SS123456 @TheOrangeMonster

TheOrangeMonster · 28/07/2021 13:31

@Blossom428 are you home?
I'm sure you'll get the hang of latching eventually, they say it can just take a bit of time to get used to for both of you. Someone I know used nipple guards to help for a couple of weeks.

I'm just keeping an eye on movements as they've not been quite as much as normal so far today.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 28/07/2021 14:21

@Blossom428 BF IS HARd! I was in agony every time she latched for the first two weeks and I mean agony. I used to grab my husbands arm and brace myself!!! It's okay now though, feel ya on the milk coming in! G only woke up once in the night last night so this morning I was in such much pain!!!

How's the sleep going? I think Guin just slept for first two weeks all day everyday! 😂 I miss that! X

OP posts:
SS123456 · 29/07/2021 07:09

@Blossom428 I found BFing horrific with my son and gave up after about 4 days as I was just too ill to deal with it. I am hoping to preserver with it this time but if it doesn't work out I'm not going to suffer with it

@TheOrangeMonster did baby's movements pick up again? I hope all is ok
