@Ginevere I emailed our HR to check and was told I would get it up until the 39 weeks - so 26 full pay then can take the rest as SMP but I won’t be doing SMP for that long. But I’ll double check tomorrow just to make sure! Thanks for the heads up! Like you say good to just know either way so we can save and plan for it!

Morning all its been a bit quiet on here!

We have had our scan and all is well, having a boy! Did find out i have an anterior placenta which was a bit of surprise as i did feel movement early on!

But to those of you wondering if you may have one too mine wasn't mentioned at first scan!

Will update the due date list shortly

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE congratulations on the baby boy news! Do you have boys or girls already? Xx

Ty @TiredAlreadyOhDear, we have one girl and four boys already! Luckily dd has not taken the news too badly!

Report
TiredAlreadyOhDear · 18/02/2021 09:26

At least she can still be your favourite girl! My cousin is like that the only girl and she has 4 brothers!

I’m looking forward to my scan now - next weds not too long to wait!

Although as we get closer to birth I am starting to worry about it! I’m so soft and terrible with pain- I don’t know how I’m going to do it 😂🙈😂 @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE please tell me it’s not that bad 😂😂

@thatbasicsnowflake Also had my scan this week and found out I have an anterior placenta. I had felt some movements but nothing significant really. Hopefully will start to feel more over the next few weeks!

We didn't find out whether baby is a boy or a girl. This has stopped me spending looking of money on outfits though!!!

Welcome @Kowhai13 I’m due with my first too....so excitng!

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE you’ll be an expert at it now!

@FirstTimeMummy2021 I’m thinking I have the same as I’ve felt nothing at all yet - no movements - so will see when I go for my scan next week.

Don’t know if this is a stupid question but can the placenta move? Or once it’s in place is that where it stays?

FTM and no one told me NCT classes book quick. Couldn't have booked anything sooner anyway because we are moving and whilst our chain is now complete that's only a recent development. Please tell me I'll be okay without? Our local NHS trust isn't holding any due to COVID and they won't refer me to the new place until after completion. The closest one to our new house is 20 miles away. I'd love it if you can tell me it's a waste of time and I'll manage. Freaking out a bit.

Had 20 week scan yesterday so you can update the list. It's a boy. First child.

@PurBal I’ve booked onto the bump and baby ones but to be honest I don’t think they will tell me anything groundbreaking! I’d more booked it to meet other parents and just for something to do 😂

I no now loads of people who never did any classes and they were fine!

To be fair I’m half expecting mine to be cancelled due to COVID anyway.

As our last two dc were boys we have a lot of boy clothes! I need to dig them out and make sure that i didnt give away or charity shop the smaller stuff.

I haven't booked onto any classes yet @purBal. I actually decided that NCT was a lot of money to have classes over zoom when I mainly wanted classes to meet other mums. I'm lucky that our local Trust is doing virtual antenatal classes though!

PurBal · 18/02/2021 10:46

@TiredAlreadyOhDear Thank you! Just what I needed. I thought I wasn't that bothered but would go because I'd be new to the area and meet people because I don't know anyone at present.

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I think the placenta can move as we have been told my placenta is quite low but 9/10 it will move up as the uterus grows so they can move as the uterus but I'm not sure sure if it would move from front to back IYSWIM

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 18/02/2021 10:52

@PurBal, i never did any antenatal classes at all!

Report
TiredAlreadyOhDear · 18/02/2021 11:12

Thanks @ElderMillennial makes sense so it could move with the uterus but not a big move! I’ll find out next weds I guess! I think it might be as I’ve felt nothing at all yet - however it might just be me! All will be revealed next weds :)

Had my 20 week scan this morning and all looking good. We already knew we were having a boy but good to get a second scan saying the same!

Feeling more down than I'm supposed to be though as we said no to photos and now I really regret that.. I'm so bad at making decisions in the moment when I'm already stressed and anxious Sad Anyone else not get photos?!

@PurpleCurtain if you phone up they MAY have an image saved on their computer

I have a friend who works in the same hospital who asked an ultrasound colleague - apparently they don't save them unless they have your permission. I never actually said no but my husband said "no probably not" and I thought she would ask me to confirm and she didn't. I thought I could deal with his decision but I really can't. I know I'm being ridiculous and it's just a photo but I'm crying uncontrollably right now and really don't know how to feel better.

Perhaps but I think that's giving me too much credit. I do, but it's terrible and I'd been really looking forward to getting a clearer one and using it to break the news to family. I wonder if I'm mostly distraught at my husband not wanting one/ not knowing I wanted one :(

My earlier one was a bit rubbish too

Still maybe you could do something with it? Nice frame or printed on a mug?
