I'm feeling the best I've felt the whole pregnancy which is nice. Starting to write lists of what we need to buy for hospital bag etc as ideally I want that ready for when I'm 35 weeks.
We are getting new carpet in a few weeks and I think it will feel very real then!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 24/04/2021 19:19

@FirstTimeMummy2021 I feel the same - I seem to have had a bit of a burst of energy so just trying to enjoy it while it lasts!

Yeah I’m hoping when the carpet is in- we can build furniture and put things away then know what we have left to buy!

Hoping to order pram tomorrow too!

I can’t believe that we’ll be having our babies soon! So excited/nervous xx

Pinkroseuk · 24/04/2021 19:24

Hi ladies can I join please? Due end of July with our first :)

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 24/04/2021 21:00

Hi @Pinkroseuk what date are you due? X

Pinkroseuk · 24/04/2021 21:06

Hi @TiredAlreadyOhDear - 25th July- when are you due?

Flittingaboutagain · 24/04/2021 21:11

I too am finally feeling like I'm having a better time of it. Apart from sleeping issues with hip pain I definitely feel the best I have. With more energy and motivation finally!

It's exciting reading about your nursery plans. I'm not able to sort mine yet for various reasons so I can live through you!

Warrickdaviesasplates · 24/04/2021 21:32

@Pinkroseuk yay due date twins! I'm due on the 25th as well.

I have felt absolutely bloody awful today. Woke up at 1am and have been violently vomiting on and off every since.

Thankfully my parents live close by so they watched the older babies while DH was at work.

I did speak to a midwife and was told not to worry if baby is still moving and I'm not leaking mucus or blood but to go in tomorrow if I've still not kept water down to be rehydrated. That has put my mind at ease a little but it does feel like a constant worry with pregnancy.

Does anyone have a kick counter app or similar that they'd recommend?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 25/04/2021 08:18

@Warrickdaviesasplates how are you this morning?

I don't use a kick counter tbh

Pinkroseuk · 25/04/2021 08:48

@Warrickdaviesasplates yay!
Hope your feeling better this morning?

Flittingaboutagain · 25/04/2021 09:07

Warrick hope you're feeling better today.

I have just this morning started using the NHS recommended one called kicks count.

PeanutButterFalcon · 25/04/2021 09:43

Hope you’re feelings better today @Warrickdaviesasplates and enjoy pram shopping @TiredAlreadyOhDear

Hi can I join too please? Due 25th July Smile

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 25/04/2021 10:02

@PeanutButterFalcon so excited just done a few miles with the dog - on the way to the pram shop now!!! I hope we like one!

@Warrickdaviesasplateshope your feeling better! Nothing worse than being sick!

@GreenSlide I think you have a few people who are due on that date here!

@Pinkroseuk I’m
Due on the 14th July! Time
Is flying by so quick now! X

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 25/04/2021 10:02

More the merrier!

I will actually update the due date list at some point honest Blush

30 weeks today!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 25/04/2021 13:15

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE 30 weeks! That is so exciting!! 10 weeks to go!!

I’ve ordered my travel system today went for the egg2 in the navy blue, although all the prams looked great to be fair. X

Mummy2O · 25/04/2021 13:43

I bought a buggy board for our pram this morning and ordered our nursery furniture last week (we had nothing bar my "office" stuff in our spare room). It is starting to feel a bit real now.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 25/04/2021 14:13

@mummy2O I feel like that now - like things are starting to feel so much more real!

I’m hoping once the room is sorted with paint and carpet and we start building up the furniture I’ll feel a bit more organised - at the moment I don’t feel like I really know what we’ve got and what we’ve still to get as it’s all in box’s or bags. X

Mummy2O · 25/04/2021 14:23

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I know what you mean there. We have lots from DS1 which has been put away. We need to get everything out and have a good sort through it.

Warrickdaviesasplates · 25/04/2021 19:53

Thanks everyone who asked, I do actually feel better today. Still quite tired and fragile but been able to keep down water so that's made a difference.

@GreenSlide 25th of July due date here as well! How exciting.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE thanks I'll download that app now. I was getting quite worried about the baby as they weren't kicking much yesterday, but they seem to have perked up today.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 26/04/2021 07:04

What are peoples thoughts/experiences with the baby nests? I’ve been looking and I’m not sure if there worth it?

I’ve seen the purflo ones which are cheaper than the sleepyheads but still unsure if I need one/ would get good use out of one.

Any advice? Xx

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 26/04/2021 08:27

@TiredAlreadyOhDear i haven't ever used one, only became aware of them really when having dc5 at which point my attitude is 'none of my others needed one' Grin

Glad your feeling better @Warrickdaviesasplates, i was reading some stuff on week 30/31 last night which said around now baby starts getting into more defined and longer periods of awake and asleep time. Not sure how many weeks you are but this may explain changes?

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 26/04/2021 08:42

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I’m half thinking that - like there are so many things you can buy and try and I think my nieces and nephews didn’t have them and they were ok. I might wait and see what he/she likes when he/she is here - I just don’t want to buy stuff that I’ll just get no use out of! I’m more than happy to buy if I know I’ll use it - guess it’s trail and error when the baby arrives! Xx

Jellybean81 · 26/04/2021 11:16

I'm in hospital and have been since last week with threatened pre term labour. Baby (28weeks) seems to have calmed but no idea what caused it. I'm now being treated for a uti which I didn't even know I had!

The midwives have been great but it's really concerning to experience the fact that every dr has a different opinion and so the care and plan changes every day. I'm having to work so hard for consistent care and I'm privileged that English is my 1st language and I'm confident enough to ask questions - what about those who aren't.

Not sure why I'm sharing, guess it's a bit of a feel sorry for myself post as I'm ready to be back at home now.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 26/04/2021 11:54

@Jellybean81 oh god that sounds so stressful. Did you just not feel right so called up and they asked you to go in? Or did you start having contractions and things? So pleased it seems to have settled - have you been given any indication on if you can go home soon?

You’re right about English being your first language and being confident to ask questions although it doesn’t make it less stressful it helps that you can fully articulate what you need to.

Are you allowed anyone with you while in hospital or are the Covid rules still in place? X

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 26/04/2021 12:14

@Jellybean81 sorry to hear you have had a scare and aren't having the best time in hospital. Hopefully you get to go home soon! Flowers
