Yep we're all in bed exhausted whenever we've got a spare moment @THATbasicsSNOWFLAKE!

Was looking at car seats yesterday as finally pushing myself to buy things. But can't make the fundamental decision between a combination car seat vs one that just lasts til 12 months with a base but can be taken out the car! So hard to imagine what normal life will be like let alone life with a baby so can't figure out what we will prefer!

Luckyelephant1 · 15/03/2021 17:46

Finally started pushing myself to buy stuff over the weekend too! Or at least make final decisions on things and order a bit later as we have a small house so not much space to store big items for weeks on end. For pram and car seat I am definitely still waiting until I can try out in person though.

@Blossom428 where have you booked a pram appointment out of interest? Last time I checked John Lewis they are still only doing virtual bookings.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/03/2021 18:12

I bit the bullet and ordered a pram! Its coming tomorrow!

We have a one year old so be using for just him until baby arrives and then both of them!

Warrickdaviesasplates · 15/03/2021 18:48

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE which one did you order?

I've been feeling really tired and ill today, can't wait until the part of the pregnancy where I feel like a human being... has to be coming soon right?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/03/2021 19:50

@Warrickdaviesasplates i spent most of today feel like shit, woke up feeling really sick, had some cramping in my side and just been so worn out!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/03/2021 19:50

Pram is icandy orange

Blossom428 · 15/03/2021 20:23

@Luckyelephant1 I live in West Yorkshire, and my friend recommended one called Direct2Mum in Barnsley- not sure where you are in the country. They have a Facebook and I just messaged on there.
But I do presume ones will be opening when the shops open in April.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 15/03/2021 21:08

I’m wanting to go and test out the egg2 as soon as things open! I’ve bought a baby chair thing (nuna leaf grow) this weekend! My sister bought us some baby monitors which she dropped off tonight for us :) so starting to get a good few things stored up! So exciting!!!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 15/03/2021 21:09

Ooo @Blossom428 I live in West Yorkshire too I might try and get an appointment :) xx

PeanutButterFalcon · 15/03/2021 21:15

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I am loving the look of the egg 2 as well. And the colours are amazing

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 15/03/2021 21:19

@PeanutButterFalcon yeah I love all the colours.

I’m thinking egg2 and also like the look of the silver cross pioneer so will do some testing soon hopefully!

Anyone else feel like time is going so quickly? I feel like time is going by so fast!

ElderMillennial · 16/03/2021 08:39

I also live in West Yorkshire Grin

Luckyelephant1 · 16/03/2021 08:59

@Blossom428 ah I'm nowhere near West Yorkshire unfortunately. Itching to get out and test prams!

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE ooo I did have my eye on an icandy a while ago, let us know how you find it.

isadorapolly · 16/03/2021 10:08

I had the egg with my now 2 year old, it’s the best pushchair I’ve ever had and it looks lovely too, I’d definitely recommend it Smile I had the creamy coloured one I think it’s called Prosecco?

@Warrickdaviesasplates I hope you feel better soon it’s horrible when you get to the half way point and still feel rotten.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 16/03/2021 10:42

I don’t know why I didn’t expect that there would be anyone from around me on here! If we were close enough we could arrange a meet up once the lockdown eases!

@isadorapolly so glad you’ve said you loved yours - they’re expensive but I do love the look of them- I think I’m edging toward the Just Black one but I do love the navy ones as well! They’re all nice to be fair haha!

PeanutButterFalcon · 16/03/2021 12:20

@TiredAlreadyOhDear I also like the silver cross wave! Im wanting one that can be a double too eventually. I’m hoping to be able to see how easy they fold and things before I make a decision. Plus I need to see the colours because they all look good online, but also need to work for either gender

OP posts:
TiredAlreadyOhDear · 16/03/2021 12:28

Yeah I’m the same with the colour - that’s the reason I’m thinking black grey or navy would be fine for any.

Also I know I’m being extra keen - but has anyone given any thought to what you are bringing the baby home in? Cos it’s July it will probs be warm so I was thinking best, baby grow and a blanket over the top - we won’t need like snowsuits or anything like that will we? 🙈 maybe I’ll take a little jacket thing as well in case it’s cold! I have no idea!

isadorapolly · 16/03/2021 13:04

@TiredAlreadyOhDear it’s never too early to think about baby clothes!

I must admit I’ve never had a baby in summer before so am pretty clueless about newborns in hot weather but I’m guessing on a really hot day you wouldn’t want anything more than a baby grow/sleep suit. Maybe a bodysuit underneath if it’s not as warm.

Warrickdaviesasplates · 16/03/2021 13:35

@TiredAlreadyOhDear My DS was born in May, I bright him home in a baby grow and cardigan (knitted by my Nan) with a cotton hat and had a blanket at the ready to go over his legs in the car seat, although it was definitely not warm enough to need the blanket in the end.

I imagine I'll go for a similar with this one. Can always leave the cardigan off if it's warmer when we leave. My Nan is knitting already so I expect I'll have a good selection of blankets and Cardigans by July (probably August, all my babies have been late so far)

Warrickdaviesasplates · 16/03/2021 13:36

Damn it

*it was not COLD enough to need the blanket in the end.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 16/03/2021 13:42

My summer born came home in .... a vest, sleepsuit, hat with a thin cardigan and we had a thin blanket too

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 16/03/2021 13:43

You have to remember a few hours before being taken home baby was tucked up somewhere very warm indeed!

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 16/03/2021 16:14

Thanks all! I know well all the babies in my family are winter babies so I’m used to seeing them all wrapped up in little cosy snowsuit type things! I was like what do I bring him/her home in!! Like you say you don’t want to overheat them but also they have just come out of a human so they will probs still feel the cold hahaha 🤣

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 16/03/2021 16:27

Honestly my last baby the mw who delivered him was obsessed with keeping him warm! He was a Sept baby so not exactly cold

Mrslouu · 17/03/2021 06:54

I have my 20 week scan today, does anyone know if I need to take a urine sample or have more bloods? Just wondered. Thanks ladies.
