Is anyone experiencing hip pain. Strangely only one hip but in the joint left side. 19 weeks on Monday and bump starting to show. :)
Any recommendations on shops for smart office wear. :)

isadorapolly · 28/02/2021 11:33

@Warrickdaviesasplates yes you’d think so but I’m still surprised how tiring it is every time Grin still throwing up every day although less than some of the others. I tend to have really bad sickness with girls and with boys it’s more manageable.

I think nub theory can be quite accurate depending in who’s doing it and the gestation. That’s nice that you’re having a surprise, I think that moment when you find out at the birth must be amazing!

Sweetpea12 · 28/02/2021 12:32

Can anyone recommend where they have gotten really good well fitting maternity clothes? I’ve tried new look and next so far but have had to send most things back as they are too baggy even though I’m buying my current size but in maternity. I need good comfy jeans that won’t hang off my bum or have a band that reaches my rib cage 😂

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 28/02/2021 12:50

@Warrickdaviesasplates you’re 100% right there my name is Melissa and I’ve been called Fliss all my life so you can put loads of effort into finding names and then your kid might end up being called something totally different anyway 😂🙈

I think we will probs go with Elizabeth for a girl as it’s the only thing that we both agree on at the moment...unless another name comes along in the next 20 weeks!

Mummy2O · 28/02/2021 13:08

@FemaleLady I have awful cramp in the night with my first. I am really hoping it doesn't come back with this one.

I am starting to worry i will look like Violet Beauregarde by July.

I have zero clue at all on names. I am hoping to find out the sex at my scan tomorrow so I can at least start narrowing the field a bit.

@Sweetpea12 I have liked the ones from TU at Sainsburys so far. H&M were good last time from what I remember. I struggled with the length there though as I am rather short.

Luckyelephant1 · 28/02/2021 13:52

@Sweetpea12 I struggle with similar problems to you. I got a pair of skinny (not the super skinny style) maternity jeans from H&M in petite length and they look like nice fitting straight leg jeans on me (which is what I wanted, but most straight legs I tried from elsewhere looked so stupidly baggy) even though they are meant to be skinny. The band is still a bit too high and loose and the fake button bit is quite low so they're not perfect but they're the best I've found so far. Tops wise tbh I'm probably going to stick mainly with loose fitting non-maternity clothes and size up if I have to. I'm determined not to waste money on clothes that will be worn for just a couple of months! I will buy a couple of cool comfy dresses for later on as we will be most heavily pregnant during summer and they'll be good for the 4th trimester stage too.

isadorapolly · 28/02/2021 14:24

ASOS are good for maternity clothes and seraphine is well fitting but more smart so better for work stuff and some of the more casual stuff is a bit frumpy. The bamboo loungewear from seraphine is so lovely and comfy and I wore mine for a few month after giving birth as it was so soft!

PurpleCurtain · 28/02/2021 14:37

I like loveleggings jeggings, with any big non maternity jumpers I have...iv bought loads of maternity jeans to try on and returned them all as they all sit too low or the material below the over bump bit is too tough. I bought their leggings too but the elastic has already started to tighten after a couple of washes so I wear non maternity leggings with the waistband rolled down if I want to wear a dress etc. Tbh will try not to buy any new dresses as I think a lot of the ones I already own could be maternity options.

Q for everyone... do you wear gloves whilst cleaning? I never have in my life, even for cleaning toilets or scrubbing mud off floors/ shoes, and hadn't changed that in pregnancy. Is cleaning mud off shoes or floors with my bare hands (and maybe a thin cleaning wipe inbetween sometimes but not always) a toxoplasmosis risk though?! I mean, I dont wear gloves to scrub mud off my dads allotment potatoes and thats the same as muddy boots, right? Maybe now Im worrying it means I should switch, so any recommendations that I might actually bother wearing? I cant see myself wearing them for the "as I go along" cleaning I do though - but I do mostly use non toxic stuff like Method!

Sweetpea12 · 28/02/2021 15:39

Will look on ASOS and H and M thanks 😊 I think because I’ve got a bump now but haven’t gained weight anywhere else it’s making clothes difficult and here in Belfast the weather is so temperamental. Will be glad when I can wear a nice comfy dress

Warrickdaviesasplates · 28/02/2021 16:30

@Sweetpea12 I got some nice stuff from ASOS and Boohoo but I would suggest trying the next size down in some things. I happened to get a jumpsuit and dress in a size 12 (usually 14) because they were in the sale and the size 14 trousers I got were huge while the size 12 were perfect.

notalwaysalondoner · 28/02/2021 16:31

I bought my first maternity clothes online yesterday, exciting! Trying not to get too many though, especially if they’re not nursing friendly.

We don’t have a name yet - I already have my list of 15 top names and a view on my top 3, but DH hasn’t been very useful at suggesting options so far! I’m sitting him down with the ONS top 200 names list this evening to get a better sense of his “style” so at least it’s a bit more mutual rather than me making all the suggestions and him saying he doesn’t like them!

FemaleLady · 01/03/2021 11:06

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE thank you for the names. you are such a darling.Smile

@Mummy2O Gudluck n your scan hey, sending you hugs and kisses.

pinkgin8 · 01/03/2021 11:35

I have some things coming today from PLT
But there also items I can wear when I'm not pregnant
Got some over the bump jeans and leggings , matching co ords so hoping to feel more like myself again with these Grin

PurpleCurtain · 01/03/2021 11:48

As someone who has been working from home and therefore pyjamas are often suitable daytime attire, the imminent easing of restrictions (and better weather) is definitely making me realise I can't wear the same pair of maternity jeggings for the rest of my pregnancy that's for sure Grin

LouLikesLollies · 01/03/2021 18:22

Finally had my scan today and all is well with the baby! Am sooo relieved! Was so nervous I felt like I kept forgetting to breathe during the scan!
And found out it’s a boy! 💙😊

isadorapolly · 01/03/2021 18:54

@LouLikesLollies congratulations on your scan and finding out it’s a boy that’s lovely ☺️

Mummy2O · 01/03/2021 20:37

All went well with my scan today too. I am so relieved. I'm also having a boy. Grin

LouLikesLollies · 01/03/2021 21:15

@isadorapolly Thanks so much 😊

@Mummy2O Congratulations to you too!

Mummy2O · 01/03/2021 21:29

@LouLikesLollies Congratulations to you too. x

Jellybean81 · 01/03/2021 22:19

Got our 20 week scan tomorrow evening! So nervous but excited to see baby.
Starting to feel proper kicks - when my DS6 put his hand on my bump this evening there was a lovely flurry of movement, hopefully the sibling bond starting early Smile
